I submitted a request for quotes to transport a vehicle 60 miles between garages. Had several people contact me, accepted one for £150, paid £70 deposit via bank transfer. On the day due to be transported I had heard nothing, phone number not working properly, vehicle not collected. Tried to call numerous times, on one occasion was able to leave a message- no response. Ie it was a scam.

If I could leave a negative number I would. Quoted online and confirmed by text. Didnt show up and wouldnt answer calls or texts.

Constant calls one after the other and noway to stop it or have your advert or number taken down

All started well but the guy scratched my car.
He accepted responsibility and offered to pay for the respray, until the bill came and then got very aggressive and said he could have resprayed it himself for £100!!?!!
No way to contact cheapcarrecovery so you are on your own if it goes wrong.
I guess you get what you pay for!

Im a young girl and was very nervous about getting my car towed alone. The two guys from Bar Lane (Nottingham) were so so lovely, even dropped me home from the garage afterwards!! They were also very quick and the price was very affordable especially considering they came out on a Sunday night... Thanks guys!!

Scam of a service. Contacted regarding A to B tow, within 5 miles. Gave full details, quoted price, then within 10 minutes price increased! Then I was asked to go out and jump start my vehicle or they wouldn't come. 1.5 hours wasted with them, rang another breakdown who was out within 20 minutes!!

Scam.
They take your money and leave you stranded. Not a professional outfit.
The “deposit” taken up front is not a deposit and the driver demands money before loading the vehicle.

Do not use this company.

Have never contacted and never used them. They have been harassing my phone from different phone numbers answering “lol” to me saying I never contacted you.

Appalling service. No obvious contact number or email address. The agent was from a company called Angel Assist Kent and after sending me a slightly mocking WhatsApp message, they just left my dad stranded, he’s 83! Simply a disgusting way to treat people!

Asked for a quote and immediately got inundated with messages from unidentified numbers saying they were my Cheap Car Recovery agent. Lots of spam messages and no references provided by any, so likely some scams in there too.

My friend had told me about this site and told me to put my details in. I had a few people message me with really cheap prices when an actual local towing company had quoted me £350- due to the car issue not being my fault, it being citroens i opted for the cheaper company. They go as ‘readybuddy’ the more i looked into it, the more i didn’t trust it so i cancelled with the man- Gave him plenty of notice& he said he’d refund me. He said the refund was processing multiple times when asked & is now ignoring my messages. DO NOT BOOK WITH READY BUDDY!!!!! SCAM! was okay to chase me for my deposit, but i guess this is how they make their money!!!

Bad bad bad company they will damage your car

Absolutely negative experience, beyond believes! that lad turned up after 2 hours, he spent nearly 20 mins to try to load my van on his and he ended up tossing my van off! as a consequence i had big damages and being a courier driver i will face an hefty loss of revenue because of that! utterly gobsmacked! how can some individuals carry out jobs in such a careless and botched way? i highly recommend to avoiding this website in the first place, as there are neither phone numbers , email or links to get in touch with them. Thus, watch out carefully should you decide to go through with them anyway

Booked for transportation of my vehicle from Copart York to Sheffield and the guy told me that he was going to pick the car on Friday morning which did not happen and when I followed up using WhatsApp I was told that there were no slots for Friday and only Monday was feasible. Come Monday , the guy told me that there was a storage fee of £ 36 which I duly paid to Copart and this time he cooked a story that they have no slots till Wednesday. Being curious , I called Copart and was informed that the slots were there , called the guy and he wasn’t picking his calls , send a message that he should book and collect as slots were available but he didn’t respond only to respond towards day end informing me that he will pick on Wednesday not even bothering that I will be charged storage . I ended up cancelling the job but paid the hefty storage fees due to his negligence and lies. Please don’t use them.

Despite some negative reviews, we've still decided to use a cheap car recovery.

We've received an outstanding service from Gheorghe (07730335877) recovering our car from Bournmouth to London for a very reasonable price.
We had a really difficult case with our car being unexpectedly blocked by two other cars so it was extremely challenging to recover it, plus our car's battery suddenly died by the time recovery guy has arrived to pick it up. So it wasn't possible to recover the car on that day. To our surprise, Gheorghe's offered to come next morning for free, and he also has stayed in the Bournmouth area overnight. He managed to get everything sorted on the next day, even with two other cars still blocking our car. In addition, he hasn't asked for a deposit or any payment in front. We've processed the payment only after the car has been recovered to the garage in London.
Therefore, I would highly recommend using Gheorghe's service, as well as a cheap car recovery. Our experience has proved that there can be very reliable services provided

Despite reviews I decided to trust one of the quotes.

Guy arrived half an hour late but that's not a problem and to be expected I guess.

But despite the garage he was picking the car up from putting auto box in neutral and getting the hand brake off for him. He said it didn't move right and was going to get a skate and might come back later. But it was going to cost more. Blamed me saying it was not a simple tow. He also wound down the window but as there's an electrical fault it won't wind back up. So now we have a car behind a garage that is insecure.

Cannot contact cheap car recovery. The agent won't pick up the phone.

they sell your details then you get scammers calling you from India the Company only has Indians calling with quote wouldn't recommend at all unless you fancy loosing your hard earned money

The only good thing about this company is their rates, its decently affordable!
However, there’s many cons and I would extremely recommend you to not use this company/website/business!

Just for a bit of context, I just bought a car from Birmingham and the calliper had seized 20 mins during my journey back home, to West Sussex.
RAC denied to help as DVLA hadnt updated that the car was no longer SORN, which already was a great start. So after 2 hours of trying to get RAC to help, I turned to alternative recovery companies in the area. I used Google and it took me to some “cheapcarrecovery.co.uk” site where I suppose you enter your car details, the collection and destination location and drivers will reach out to you. Thats exactly what happened.

Unfortunately, “Intime Recovery Group” were the first to contact me and quoted the lowest price, hence I agreed to use their service.

Their service is unbelievable as well as their attitude, they were quite rude and abrasive over the phone throughout the entire process, although they were nice in the initial call prior to me accepting their offer. They asked me to pay for the entire recovery transportation a third into the journey despite stating we would only have to pay once delivered.
Additionally, they absolutely stank of weed and LOST MY CAR KEY!
What kind of service is this?? After having delivered the car from Birmingham to 120+ miles away (my home), just to end the day with having lost the only car key I had for the car.
They proceeded to spend around 45 minutes pathetically looking for my car keys and apparently had no luck.
We agreed that we would not be paying the full price of £245 due to this, and instead agreed to £150 and then the remaining amount after finding and sending over the car keys. If they have not found the keys, then we would have to discuss this further as I’m still waiting on confirmation (its only been 2 hours since they left).

Not only that, but they also seemed to be working outside work hours as I sent the money to a personal account instead of a business account. So they might be working off the books and may have not cared as much about my job, hence not caring about losing my car keys and left the car on some random verge. They didn’t even want to actually try and park my car where I wanted, which is on my drive!

Lastly, after having refused to pay for the rest of the fees, they continually harassed me to pay for a week or so and threatened to commit property damage since they had our address.

Please do not fall for the other fake reviews written for them and go for a real recovery company. DO NOT use the website I did because god knows what you’ll have to face!
