I don’t usually like to leave bad reviews but here I think I it’s valid. Avoid this agency if you can, the incompetence is really shocking and so disappointing (I speak as a tenant, but this advice goes to prospective landlords too).

The staff themselves are really nice friendly people, but I think the issue is a lack of communication between offices/staff teams regarding the important details of a tenancy, leading to an absolute stressful mess for the customer (landlord and tenant alike).

In the week coming up to our move-in date, we found out that us and our landlord were given completely conflicting information from multiple staff members regarding our contract from the very beginning. This lead to the landlord having to contact us directly to cut through the misinformation from Chancellors.

Chancellors staff didn’t bother to cross-check that both parties to the contract were on the same page in terms of really important details, such as having guarantors, rent instalment amounts etc. They made a straightforward process incredibly stressful and we felt like absolute fools for giving them our custom.

If you can’t avoid using Chancellors, make sure to get EVERYTHING in writing from them, and make sure you give yourself plenty of time before you need to move/make sure you have backup options, as this agency is so unreliable during the letting process.

Katie has helped us every step of the way with our move into a rental property. She is always reachable and responds quickly.
