My year on the Ultimate Acting Course was exactly what I was looking for. I felt that I was at a point in my career where I needed a stronger foundation to my acting technique and came across the Timoney Method when reading Brian’s book which I also highly recommend. What I found within the book, and also on the course, is the understanding that the most important thing for an actor is to be present in the scene and connected to their scene partner without the need to plan exactly what they want to do. Therefore keeping the scene alive and spontaneous, something which has been instilled in me over the course of this last year. This course has also provided a group of friends who are equally passionate about this craft and the added experience of both a showreel scene and showcase. So any actor out there, regardless of ability or experience, that feels like they are at a point where they are looking for something more then look no further than this course. As it will teach you the fundamental technique that underpins much of the award winning acting that you can see at the highest level on both the stage and screen.

I would like to start by saying the ultimate acting programme is by far the most incredible experience you will ever experience, every month is a different challenge and just when you feel you’re getting somewhere and begin to get comfortable Brian then wants more out of you, you have to WORK.

I came to Brian fearful and nervous because of how passionate I am about the craft and within 12 months he made me feel so confident and excited within myself that I no longer have the fear of the question 'can I act?'

Over the past 12 months I have grown at a ridiculous rate, not only within my acting but also as a person, Brian taught me how to use the pain of my past and use it to fuel the instrument in the right way. He taught me a lot during the course and my most valuable lesson is your past doesn’t have to define who you are and by accepting what has happened and using it in the right way you can create characters with raw emotions, bringing them to life authentically.

Not only was Brian my teacher, I also looked up to him as a father figure. Every class I would study him and his comments to learn more about what he wants from his students, he is very intelligent and he knows his craft, he is the messiah of method and I am truly grateful I had the opportunity to be a student of his.

I highly recommend this to anyone, don’t think about it just do it because in the end you owe it to yourself, it is hard work, you have to be dedicated, you have to be able to listen and learn and if you can do all this things then you will be successful. I had 9 agent offers after the showcase and I signed with an agency. 12 months ago I didn’t even believe I could achieve that.

I have so much love and gratitude for Brian and Natalie, for their hard work and effort they put in to their students to fully unlock their talent and potential.

The hardest part about the course is the end, because it becomes a part of your life, and you have to say goodbye and move on to the next chapter, and for me I look forward to the next chapter as a PROFESSIONAL ACTOR.

Starting the ultimate actor programme was the best decision I’ve ever made. The whole year was truly amazing. Brian takes you from beginner to professional actor, teaching you everything you need to know to go out & be what you’ve always wanted to be!

Brian has an in-depth application process, which is clear when you meet your classmates. I’m honoured to have spent the year learning & sharing the stage & screen with such hard-working, generous, talented actors.

The course itself is brilliant, taking a deep dive into method acting, your own psyche & creating characters, as well as learning the business side of acting which is obviously extremely important once you have competed the course! You learn how to act for stage & screen & get to experience being on set.

I started the year with a dream & now I can call myself a professional actor! The amazing experience I had on this course, the things I learnt & the people I met, I will cherish forever. If you’re wondering whether to apply DO IT!

Having discovered Brian’s work on the online Lockdown Intensive courses, I was excited to get into a real studio with a team of actors for the week-long Études Express, and it did not disappoint. Given the variability of zoom and internet connections it was amazing how much Brian had been able to teach us online, but in person he could make more subtle observations, catching on to our impulses and thoughts and missing nothing. His teaching is inspiring, and encouraging, and the classes are quiet, with all students listening and watching when they are not the ones on stage - our group developed a real feeling of camaraderie over the week. And it was not just études, as Brian also led us through relaxation and breathing techniques, vocal work, sense memory, plastiques, character boxes, psychological gesture and mask work, which was both fun and powerful. This was an amazing course; a taster of all the techniques we should be practising regularly throughout our careers, and the inspiration to keep learning and be our best.

Testimonial – Etude Express: 21st to 25th March 2022
I have been attending Brian’s online Intensive courses since June 2020. I chose to attend the Etude Express course because I needed nearly 2 years of lone practice during lockdown to come to life in a theatre.
I knew I owed that to myself.
I witnessed all my hard work in isolation pay off while surrounded by like-minded people, all working on this same exceptional acting technique. What I really respected was how Brian took care to ensure that his teaching was personalised. There were 10 of us, and he coached each of us as individuals depending on where we were on our acting journey.
I now feel that I belong to an acting community, and that is very special for me.

Étude express has been a very enriching experience packed full of many valuable learning points. It was really great to be re-introduced to many of the exercises which are covered in Lockdown Acting Intensive and have the opportunity to practice these in person with the Master close by to guide us. Being in the studio with other creative individuals also encouraged me to really let go of the outside world and commit myself to each exercise.
Within the studio there was a relaxed atmosphere and during the études I felt zero judgment or pressure to ‘perform’ creating a pretty unique environment compared to previous acting classes I have taken where there is expectation to always impress spectators and fellow actors by overacting. Working in this type of environment has left me feeling confident in my ability to act more authentically by trusting my impulses and letting emotions come naturally.
I am still amazed by the creativity that arose from each étude we did over the week, especially those that we did as a group. It was really fascinating how with just a few lines of text, and no given prior context, we were able to create a group of characters with a very interesting history (and hopefully future). This has really opened my eyes to the wonderful world of études and I am excited to explore them further.
This week has been a very fulfilling and important experience. Having a full week of just being allowed to be creative and express oneself is a very rare opportunity which has left me feeling really freed and joyful and I am very grateful for having had this experience.

To describe the Mini Etude Xpress week I only need one word: incomparable...
Incomparable to any course I have ever taken.

And this because of the master himself: Brian Timoney. He is without any doubt the best acting teacher I have ever met and this because of several reasons.
First we have his extraordinary talent for perception. His sight literally sees everything; your thoughts during acting, even thougths you're not aware of. No hide and seek, but really getting to the bottom of it. This is crucial in order to dive in your subconscious. You will really start to like letting go of all compulsive thoughts.

Another talent Brian has is the way of making you comfortable by being really down to earth. No shallow pep talks, but a truthful speech right to your heart. It makes you willing to give all you have and willing to let go of all mental obstacles. His feedback is so valuable and to the point, but in a way you fully understand and want to grow in your acting skills. He lifts you by making you see what you can achieve and how you can progress while following his method.

I'll be back for sure. I hope in the Ultimate next year and hope to see you guys there too. Good luck!!

This summer I finished my first Étude Xpress with Brian and nine other students, and it was absolute magic. We all learned a great deal, both about acting and ourselves when ‘experiencing’ during five intense sessions. It was so great I came back for a second round this fall and it was just as amazing. Brian guided us at the different stages we were at in the group so that all of us developed further and stretched towards new goals. To have Brian guide you through obstacles - old and new - feels safe, because you believe the feedback he gives you. He is constructive in his feedback, and - being someone who have a hard time believing in positive - his sincerity makes you trust what he tells you. This time round gave me even more faith in my decision to follow this path. Brian – Thank you!

I've just graduated from Brian's Ultimate Acting Programme and three weeks after the final showcase I've signed with an agent - I could not be happier.
The course was challenging but thought provoking with enough reading material to keep me going well after the course has ended.

Brian's a great teacher, giving just enough guidance so that you don't get overwhelmed at each stage of your learning.

A great year, the only shame is that it's over!

It's truly been one of the best experiences of my life. The course forces you to become independent and accountable for your own work right from the start in order to access your personal creativity and achieve great results, which I think is rare in a teaching environment. Although this may feel uncomfortable to some, I think this was instrumental to building my confidence in the craft and prepare me for the world outside the studio. Although the course is only a year, the toolbox of knowledge you receive during that time allows you to continue to build and elevate your craft individually for a lifetime (at the risk of sounding dramatic!). Thank you Natalie and Brian for all your hard work in class and behind to scenes. I wish I could do it all over again!

Brain Timoney’s Ultimate Acting Programme had changed my life and transformed my acting- does that sound dramatic - maybe - is it true, yes !

I enjoyed the course immensely and wish I could do it all over again. Brian is a fantastic teacher, and his version of the method truly brings out the most authentic actor in you.

I’ve recently graduated from the 1year Ultimate Acting Course and what a year it has been!
Just over 365 days ago my journey towards becoming a method actor began.
The experience has been a roller coaster of emotion and I’ve undoubtedly been pushed out of my comfort zone more than once. But, what I’ve learnt about method acting and about myself has been invaluable.
Brian has a very unique way of teaching and bringing out the best in his students.
It still feels strange to refer to myself as an ‘actor’ but when I reflect on the past year, I feel that all my and my classmates hard work, has paid off.
Now we can all move forward on our exciting new career path.
Both Brian and Natalie are personable and supportive people, who want each student to succeed in the industry.

Awful. He tried to shame me the moment I sat down in his very first class. I hadn’t said a word, was super early and respectful. Felt he used me (or anyone else of his choice) to set the tone….after which, everyone was wary of him and super attentive. At my expense,

into my second week of lockdown intensive and i’m seeing differences all over my game. Losing myself deeper into sub conscious for longer,relaxation is better than ever and by signing up to the etude express i feel as tho i’m starting to get my head around how mind body imagination and memory are to become one to portray a character truthfully.Dont get it twisted there’s a long long road ahead but with Brian’s method and no nonsense approach there isn’t a better master to lead you down that long path

Attending in real time with a group of my peers creates a special energy of its own. It’s 100% worth it to repeat the relaxation and focusing exercises on a daily basis and practice the acting etudes in a live online class environment. Recordings are available if you have to skip a live class. Also, Brian has recommended some epic industry books, I can feel my mind expanding!
Brian has gone back to the original source of the Method and this makes his teaching totally unique and special. His genuinely positive attitude, his storytelling ability and his dry sense of humour make the classes fun and enjoyable. But don’t get me wrong. This kind of authentic acting training is not for the faint hearted. You will get to know yourself and your gremlins. If you’re willing to challenge yourself, you can anticipate fantastic surprises and personal growth. And this is definitely the course for you if you also want to learn how the professional acting industry works.
What Brian teaches is all about freeing you up to be your own authentic self, based on the Method. This is the opposite of pretend kind of acting. Brian has carried out extensive research into techniques that give real results and he has taught successful actors out there. It’s called organic or unconscious acting for a reason. You unlock your creativity, and this opens you up to inspiration.
Amongst other things we’re learning how actors move their bodies, as opposed to the limited kind of physical movement that is standard for most of us in our daily lives. This has been one of the “wow” moments for me on this course: simply by learning to let my body move and breathe and vocalise more naturally and freely I have gained added focus and clarity in my thinking. I wasn’t even expecting that when I first signed up, in the beginning of the lockdown.
Can we please have more of these Lockdown Acting Intensives? And as many practical exercises as possible, please. The etudes combined with the sense memory exercises are epic. I am truly grateful that I’m able to attend the Lockdown Acting Intensive. Thank you, Brian. Just completed Brian's lockdown 3 week intensive course. I have gained a lot of really insightful & useful information throughout & have already signed up for the next course. Really recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about Method acting. Brian is really honest & truthful in his feedback but in a constructive way. It's also worth a mention that he made me feel at ease - I found myself laughing a lot. Couldn't recommend this any higher 👍

Just done Lockdown Acting Intensive season 1.

Unable to express it in word. As it opened up new avenues in mind and thought. Really learnt a lot of stuff and looking forward to season 2. Brian is a great teacher who takes you through a journey which you can cherish till end of life and also if we meticulously follow the process what he taught us, then trust me oneday we can become something great in method acting.

BTAS has always provided excellent quality acting coaching. The collective goal of high-quality acting is examined whilst at the same time each individual is coached specifically on the areas that require improvement. This work is highly recommended.
