Wanted to place an order for a gift, but Bodum charge £15 for delivery no matter size weight or quantity of items. Ridiculous. It’s more than the item itself!! Taking my business elsewhere as I could spend that money on an actual ‘thing’. I note others share the same about delivery costs being excessive. Bodum really need to think seriously about who they’re using for delivery as they’re taking the absolute P if there’s no profiteering in this on Bodum’s part…but doubt that.
Plunger falls under its own weight . . .
The one-piece filter on the 3 cup-size is a significant improvement on the old, three-piece, but the plunge action is a problem. I’ve bought two, 3 cup-size cafetières recently. On both, the plunger sinks under its own weight as soon as it is in place and therefore, well before the brewing time is finished. I’ve had to improvise with small ties to stop the plunger descending. The delivery charge of £15.00 is excessive. If I need a new cafetière in the future, I doubt it will be a Bodum.

Wish I'd read this before placing an order with Bodum online. Online form to fill in for Bodum customer service, absolutely no response. If you really want a Bodum product, then you have to avoid using their own website.
Terrible customer service and products
Save urself the trouble and buy from another company. Top of the line products with premium prices, but terrible quality and no honouring of warranty when just outside period…. Not good enough. I got the Bodum Ottoni kettle for $200+ and the handle is a poor design - constantly loosens and now has cracked a few months out of wty.. bodum refused to help and no parts to buy either of course!

Terrible customer service and product quality
Bought a kettle and toaster from Bodum. The kettle was good, but broke after 6 months. Irritating, but these thing happen, so I got in touch to get a replacement via the online webchat (they call it freshdesk I think).
Someone from their team emailed back to ask for order number and other verification details. So I sent these in, so far, so good.
Th same chap (Laurence) then emailed to say they did not have that model of kettle in stock, so needed some more details to issue a refund (which I sent). These communications were all fairly prompt, across a few working days. That was the last I heard from them.
It has now been over two months, I've not had a refund or any contact, despite chasing them via email several times times (with the above conversations attached so they can see the issue, timescale involved and general bad customer service).
I had read in reviews that Bodum product quality is low and there seems to be a lot of products that fail, I have now noticed a lot of bad reviews about their customer service too, so I'm adding to it.
A terrible company, don't deal with them. I don't think I'm ever going to get my money back, and the Kettle wasn't cheap either!
Is this Bodum product really safe to use?
Last year, we bought a Bodum bread bin with a bamboo lid.-the lid warped after a month. I complained ( by email) to both the UK and Swiss email addresses and heard nothing. I tried ringing - no response.
Then a replacement bin turned up out of the blue. Same type with a bamboo lid.
Now 12 months on we regularly have to disinfect the lid - it regularly goes green with mould and we also have to straighten the lid by placing it under a heavy weight.
In truth, this product is not fit for purpose; the seller (Bodum) doesn’t seem to have any form of customer service and their reputation for quality and good design is totally unwarranted if our experience with this product is typical.
Why does a food grade bamboo lid regularly go mouldy - the bin is not sealed, and we regularly check to ensure the bread products are fresh and have not gone off.
I’m at a loss with this product - never mind “is it good quality?” I’m asking myself “is it safe” from a health perspective.

I ordered a Caffetiera on 26 April 2024.
On 4 May ParcelForce delivered my parcel to the wrong person. I informed both Bodum and ParcelForce of this immediately and on 8 May received an email response from Bodum apologising to me and saying that they had contacted ParcelForce and would respond ‘as soon as they had any further information.’
It’s now a month later and I’ve heard nothing. I’ve sent three follow up emails and raised another ticket on their website. And I’m still waiting for my Caffetiera. Truly terrible customer service.
My order had not arrived after three…
My order had not arrived after three weeks. I had not been given a tracking number. When I contacted them they insisted that I had provided an incorrect address. I sent them a screen shot of the order from my account details which clearly showed the correct address.
The parcel was at a delivery hub. The company did not inform me of a new tracking number or give me any information as to when the parcel would arrive. I canceled the order and requested a refund. They will not begin to process a refund until an order I never received is returned to them.

I purchased a Bodum burr coffee grinder…
I purchased a Bodum burr coffee grinder for my husband for Christmas. I was under the impression their products were of high quality.
After using it 4 times the machine jammed. Trying to contact Bodum was a nightmare. The only working phone number has a Covid-related voice mail saying that employees were working remotely and to email them. Click. My email took about 3 weeks to get a response in which they asked me to submit a video depicting the issue which I did.
After another 2 weeks I sent another email requesting a status update for my claim. Their reply was that my video was too short. (It was short because the machine jammed and shut off immediately). At that point I tossed the machine in the garbage bin and gave up.
Never have I encountered such horrible customer service. I will resort to another brand and never purchase a Bodum product again.
RUBBISH CUSTOMER SERVICE HELP
Ordered from Bodum website a Caffettiera 3 cup coffee maker. The cost of postage for me to get the coffee maker was £5.90. Was sent a French press, which is different. The filter is different. Complained and after several emails to and fromwas basically told hard luck. Would only let me return for a refund if I paid for postage. So bad bad service from Bodum

my worst experience. i ve order 10 units of french press and my invoice issued wrong, needs to be corrected but no one picks up the phone or answer emails. they ignore you. I want to return the items but it seems you cant even do that even though it is written on the policy
Awful customer service
Awful customer service. Made an order in late November, to get it in time for Xmas. 3 weeks later they finally get back to me to tell me it's not been sent yet, despite the fact my account said it was despatched. Asked for a refund and still waiting for my money. You're better off getting their products from somewhere else. Do not order directly with Bodum!

Bodum UK have given me consistently poor service and haven't responded to either of my two service requests for over 10 weeks (as of 26/11/23).
I have purchased Bodum's original glass Caffettiera French Press Coffee Maker for years and have had a great experience from each. I then made the unfortunate mistake of purchasing several plastic Caffettiera French Press Coffee Makers, all of which perform incredibly poorly in comparison.
Their poor design allows a notable amount of ground coffee to get past the filter and into your cup when poured. When drinking, this results in you either getting a mouth full of ground coffee or having to avoid drinking the last 10% of your coffee. These Caffettieras are clearly faulty and I would like my money back. That however appears impossible as I can't get a response from Bodum UK.
Request 422427 was sent 14/09/23 and as of 26/11/23 I have had no reply from Bodum since 16/09/23.
Request 429078 sent on 14/10/23 and as of 26/11/23 I have had no reply at all.

Returned an item which they agreed to 27th Oct 2023 after many back and forth emails I am still waiting for my refund, they even confirmed receiving it back 30th Oct .
Check the quality of the goods on receipt
Bought a small and a large glass teapot from Bodum just over a year ago. Used the small teapot for the first time a couple of weeks ago only to find a large irregular hole in the pot just above the handle join ! Reported this to Bodum customer service who have refused to replace it on the basis that it’s over a year old. They won’t consider that it’s a manufacturing fault, even though I sent them very clear pictures and a video.
The moral of this is, check everything that you buy within 6 months of buying it (and don’t buy anything from Bodum).

Previously a reputable company, Bodum’s product quality (cafetières) is now extremely poor. Also, the high delivery charge, small print return terms & conditions and abysmal customer service (no reply to correspondence) make me wish to give zero stars, if I could do so.
