Stephanie Butler and Lucy Grunwell both did their jobs to a very high standard. What was a really stressful process was managed by them with care and attention. Their presence was professional, reassuring and thoughtful. Highly recommended.

Shibli Begum and her assistant Jamie-Lee recently completed the sale and purchase of our home. We are blown away by the service we were provided. No matter the time of day Shibli would always update us on the latest position of our transaction and explained all the legal jargon extremely well which we were very grateful for. Birketts undertook the conveyancing for me, of the purchase of a residential property in a village near Cambridge. The service was excellent, queries were dealt with quickly and comprehensively and the process was explained clearly. We highly recommend using Birketts for the sale or purchase of a property. We recently worked with Shibli, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. Despite having to deal with complications caused by an extremely difficult and uncooperative solicitor on our buyer’s side, Shibli remained professional and incredibly efficient throughout the entire process. Similar to a couple of other reviews I have read on your website our experience of working with Shibli and Jamie in your residential property team was exceptional. Shibli was so communicative and her advice was received regularly and was always concise. Where necessary we had several conversations in which it was so beneficial to have frank discussions about some of the trickier legal issues. We had one property sale fall through because we decided to pull out and Shibli's advice was crucial in our decision. Hindsight showed that this was absolutely the right course of action. We soon moved on to another transaction and were able to go from first offer to completion in six weeks. As well as Shibli pulling out all the stops our vendors also had a very good solicitor too so it shows what can be done when the legal stars are aligned! We would wholeheartedly recommend employing the services of Shibli and her team in any residential property purchase.

This awful company and associate company PJN legal refuse to accept their responsibility for my losing my employment and potentially costing me £750k. It has also left me mentally disabled with no future prospects. Please do not instruct this company on anything they biased and unfair in there approach to sensitive situations.
Update 17/10/23 - I was very much a customer of Birketts LLP and PJN and have proof of their appointment which I have used to justify this review on 2 occasions. They are just trying to avoid the inevitable but continue to choose the denial route to avoid any future compensation. Please learn form my horrible lesson dealing with this company.

Shibli Begum has been a standout solicitor for myself and my husband supporting us in purchasing our home. From the get-go Shibli was professional, efficient, informative, attentive to detail and her service was above excellence. Shibli always made herself available and returned our calls immediately if missed. Shibli took the time out to explain any legal jargon to us and ensured we were presented with all options with a suggestion on the best direction to take, whilst giving us the space to make decisions that suited us. Shibli was patient with us irrespective of the number of times we called, making us feel like we were the highest priority on her list. For matters that can be so overwhelming and exhaustive, Shibli made the experience a breeze. Thank you Shibli…there is absolutely no one else we would use and anyone that has the pleasure of utilising her service….you will not be disappointed!

very upset with this solicitors firm in Cambridge, I had two conversations regarding a legal document I wanted them to consider which was 'highly sensitive, 'and no conflict of interest was mentioned. Told to send documents across, and only then when they had my sensitive documents in their hands did they declare a conflict of interest with my employer. I consider this to be very unethical practise and will be contacting the SRA to see if they consider this to be ethical practise. it potentially means I have given their client the organisation Im in conflict with, a heads up on my intentions. It has also been a complete waste of my time, as in my case, time is of the essence.

Shibli and Jamie made a great partnership dealing with the conveyancing of our house sale. Shibli is very direct and very quick in communication. If I sent an email and didn't get a reply in within 10 minutes, I started wondering if I should call the ambulance... the same cannot be said for other solicitors I've used recently!
They didn't mess around and got exactly what they needed before it was needed and at every point we were not the bottlenecks in the chain. There was a hiccup associated with a covenant for some additional land that involved paying more than we'd agreed up front, but this was unforeseen and, whilst stressful, did result in a positive outcome in the end.

Birketts were instructed in a litigation matter.
Their advice was to simply accept all the demands made by the other side. For that, we didn't need them..
They estimated our chances of success at 50% but in my opinion, we had an exceptionally strong case and I estimated our chances of success at 95%.
I ignored Birketts advice and was prepared to go to trial.
The other side capitulated and gave in to all our demands.
I contacted Birketts as suggested and their response is below.

IS THAT IT?? just "sorry" really doesn't cut it.
The fact that we were advised to capitulate but when we were prepared to go to trial, the other side simply threw in the towel tells me loudly and clearly that this advice was about as poor as it could have been!
