Bindia er en lokal kæde af Indiske Take Away & Dine-Ins i København siden 2003. Amer Sulman er grundlæggeren af og hovedkokken for Bindia. Hos Bindia laver vi certificeret økologisk og sund indisk mad (30-60%) - også vegansk - uden tilsætningsstoffer og konserveringsmidler. Vi bruger ikke forarbejdet mad eller frituresteger og vi tilsætter ikke hverken animalsk fedt eller farvestoffer. Vi har haft Det Økologiske Spisemærke siden 2015, hvor vi som de første i Skandinavien inden for det indiske køkken satte fokus på økologien. Og vi har en klar målsætning om forsat at blive endnu grønnere. Vores mad er inspireret af Ayurvediske opskrifter og Bindia tilbyder formentlig de største portionstørrelser af retter blandt al indisk take away. I Ayurveda fungerer mad nemlig som forebyggende medicin og som den primære drivkraft bag at holde din krop sund og dit immunforsvar stærkt. Bindia betragtes som et af de bedste indiske take-away og dine-in steder – så meget at vi nu har åbnet hele 6 steder i København. Vi har nærmest intet madspild – faktisk har vi så lidt at bevægelsen mod madspild, Too Good To Go fandt det unødvendigt at inkludere os på deres app og platform, selvom vi allerede havde underskrevet en kontrakt om samarbejde. De gode, gammeldags metoder i det indiske køkken giver nemlig maden en naturlig og bæredygtig holdbarhed. Desuden har vi alle vores madvarer på køl, og den endelige ret laves først, når du bestiller den - og vi bruger aldrig mere, end det du får. Alt fra vores bæreposer, menukort og take-away-skåle er fremstillet af 100% genanvendt, ubleget papir. Både vores poser og menukort kan sorteres som papir - men vi anbefaler at man genanvender posen så meget som muligt først. For at skålene skal kunne tåle den varme, flydende mad, er en tynd plast-coating på indersiden nødvendig. Derfor skal skåle og tilhørende låg sorteres som almindeligt husholdningsaffald. Vi støtter organisationen Plastic Change, fordi vi også vil være med til at gøre en aktiv forskel for miljøet. Al vores strøm kommer fra vedvarende energikilder certificeret af vores el-leverandør Natur Energi.

Restauranten ved Trianglen minder om en indisk McDonalds, desværre. Til trods for restaurantindretning er der hverken glas, bestik eller tallerkner - man kan kun få en papkop og engangsbestik, og maden ‘serveres’ i to takeaway bokse med en ekstra boks til at spise det i. Virkeligt usselt - hvis det kun er takeaway så drop restauranten. Maden er også kedelig og har ikke meget med Indien at gøre. En gennemført skuffelse.

Best indian in Denmark!

Without doubt the best Indian food I've had in Denmark (I'm from the UK where every other restaurant is Indian).

I am really sorry if our food did not meet your expectations! The Chicken Tikka Masala that you ordered is a universal dish and have lots of different versions. Ours is definitely adjusted to fit the native Danish crowd, that makes up most of our customer base. We do however have an extensive menu with a range of rich, strong and flavourful options. May I recommend trying a dish with a bit more kick? For example the Madras or the Coconut Tamarind curry?

A taste of authentic Indian cuisine in Copenhagen

Coming from South Africa, where Indian cuisine is deeply cherished, I often find that Indian food in Denmark is adapted to a milder palate. My taste buds crave bold spices and rich flavours, so discovering Bindia—and its wonderfully accommodating owner, Amer—was an absolute delight.

The butter chicken is, without a doubt, my favourite. I tend to stick to one dish, and I was thrilled to see it prepared the way it should be—vibrant orange, not the strange pink I’ve encountered elsewhere! The flavour is incredible, perfectly balanced, and without the excess oil that sometimes dulls the experience.

Beyond the food, the service at Bindia is outstanding. The staff is warm and welcoming and always eager to go the extra mile. The quality of food, attention to detail, and level of customer care at Bindia are truly second to none.

Well done, Bindia, for serving authentic Indian cuisine in Copenhagen. I’ll definitely be back!

Købte den alt for dyre butterchicken som take-away. Jeg kommer hjem med maden, sætter mig til rette, og allerede ved første bid bemærker jeg at kyllingen var hård. Næste bid var kyllingen både hård og havde dårlig bismag af fordærvet kød. Jeg blev MEGET irriteret og gik tilbage til restauranten, der i øvrigt de sidste fem gange jeg har været der har udmærket sig ved at være gabende tom, selv i prime time. De konfererer frem og tilbage, og bliver enige om, at jeg havde spist halvdelen af retten, og at kyllingen ikke fejlede noget.De havde prøvesmagt den. Det havde jeg ikke. Jeg havde som sagt spist halvandet stykke kylling, men det er klart, at når man i forvejen er fedtet med portionerne, så er det nemmere at anklage kunden for at have spist det meste. Jeg sidder i den mennesketomme restaurant i ca 10 minutter uden at høre noget yderligere, og spørger så, om hvad de har tænkt sig. Jeg bliver tilbudt en anden ret, og tager lamb spinach. Fik Forklaret, at maden kommer forberedt udefra, og jeg har da også gennem tiden bemærket en varevogn komme og levere gennemsigtige bøtter med sovse og så videre. Kort fortalt: Bindia er bare ikke nogen god indisk restaurant, så nu bliver der ikke handlet her længere.

First and foremost, I want to express how sad it makes me to read this kind of feedback from a valued and regular customer like you. I sincerely regret that we didn’t meet your expectations this time!

When you returned with your Butter Chicken, my colleagues informed me over the phone immediately. I instructed them to take the dish back, check the chicken (which they confirmed was fresh and not spoiled), and prepare a new Butter Chicken for you as quickly as possible.

Later, when you requested a Lamb Spinach instead, my colleagues contacted me again, and I instructed them to accommodate your request. I also asked them to inform you that the chicken was fresh and not spoiled—just to provide clarity since it didn’t meet your expectations. Afterall, there is a significant difference between the chicken being too hard (perhaps due to overcooking etc.) and the food being spoiled (which could potentially cause a health hazard).

I wish I could have spoken with you directly, but I couldn’t because I was working alone that day, taking phone orders for all of our 6 shops. Every individual, indeed, has a unique way of expressing and communicating, and I am truly sorry if the way my colleagues handled the situation made you feel disbelieved. That was certainly not our intention!

Empty restaurant?:
None of our 6 shops are restaurants. We are a takeaway concept, and 95% of our orders are takeaway (pickup or delivery). We do offer our customers to sit and eat at the shop (this is what we call "dine-in"), but we're definitely not a restaurant. However, our shop at Trianglen used to be a restaurant (until 2020), hence we still have the tables and chairs. So I understand how this could have confused you.

Food from outside?:
Since 2009 we have had our own central production kitchen, where we produce all the individual parts of the food which we use at the shops to assemble your meal. Indian food takes many hours to prepare when done in the traditional style like we do, and we do this centralised in our production kitchen to keep control of the quality etc.

On 28/12 (when this episode happened), we sold more than 250 dishes with chicken from the same batch as was used in your meal, and we have had no other complaints regarding their quality or freshness. That said, I fully acknowledge your negative experience and apologize for it - you might have been unlucky and got a few pieces of overcooked/burnt chicken. This should definitely not happen, and it is a legitimate issue.

You've been a very regular customer, and I sincerely wish to bring you back. Therefore, your two meals are on us; I have already sent a gift card to your phone number via sms. I really hope you'll give us another chance!

Velsmagende mad, men dårligste restaurantoplevelse ever

Vi havde bestilt bord til 12, så vores besøg var ikke en overraskelse for restauranten.
Imidlertid var konceptet mere et cafeteria/take-away end en egtl. restaurant: Vi skulle først afkrydse bestillingssedler, derefter gå til disken med dem og betale. Herefter fik man en sms, når maden var færdig.
Resultatet var, at vi fik vores mad på helt forskellige tidspunkter. Altså - med op til en halv times forskel. Mindst 4 af os havde slet ikke fået noget mad, før vi efter næsten en time henvendte os ved disken igen. I mellemtiden havde vi kunnet se, hvordan der blev afhentet talrige take-away måltider.
Ved henvendelse til disken fik jeg at vide, at min mad godt nok var klar, men at der var problemer med betalingen, og at jeg derfor ikke havde fået nogen sms. Problemerne' fik jeg ikke besked om, på trods af, at jeg sad højst 10 meter fra disken. Jeg viste den søde ekspedient min konto, hvor hun kunne se, at beløbet var trukket præcist 48 minutter tidligere, og fik min mad udleveret.
Her kommer take-away konceptet ind igen: alt var anrettet i engangsservice: Ikke engang et ølglas kunne man få. Det er virkelig ude i hampen at skulle drikke sin 60kr's øl af et papkrus + betale ekstra priser for maden når man spiser i restauranten.
Tænker også, at det er greenwashing at reklamere med bronze-økomærket, når alt er engangsservice.
De to stjerner er for maden, der smagte dejligt.

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to review us and for liking the food despite having concerns. It’s very sweet of you!

**Reservation?**
Yes, we informed your group member that we have enough space for the 12 guests, but we never take reservations.

**Takeaway?**
Yes, you’re right, Bindia is not a restaurant but a takeaway with the facility of Dine-in, and not a restaurant. The term "Restaurant" is neither mentioned on our website nor at any of Bindia's premises. :)

**Food ready on different times?**
Since it’s a takeaway & everyone places their orders individually, the food is also prepared individually. I do acknowledge it wasn’t great but learning from your feedback we’ll develop our system so group orders are served at the same time.

**Payment Glitch**
I sincerely apologize that your payment wasn’t marked by Verifone (Payment Gateway/Partner) in our POS. While all of your group members’ payments were marked correctly, unfortunately for some unknown network glitch at Verifone’s, only your payment wasn't marked. Consequently, your order was delayed & my colleague requested to pay again. As much as we’re sorry for the episode, we’re grateful for your kindness towards my colleague.

Nevertheless, our development team is already in communication with Verifone to have this issue resolved.

**Higher Dine-in prices?**
Despite the fact that Dine-in orders, create extra work for us (additional service, cleaning up & time etc.) than a regular takeaway order, we do not charge extra to dine-in customers & we do not serve in porcelain either.
I have checked from our side & can confirm that you were not charged 60kr but 45kr for the beer. A discount of 15kr is marked clearly on your order receipt.

**Greenwashing/Environmentally Friendly**
We’ve done proper calculations on environmental outcomes; Calculating the number of dine-in orders we get, disposing of our biodegradable-environmentally friendly packaging is more sensible than keeping the dishwashing machine on for many hours using electricity, water & chemicals.

By the way, being Organic has no direct relation with being Environmentally Friendly.

We are the greenest and the environment friendliest Indian when it comes to packaging, energy and food wastage.

Reading your review, it’s clear to me that you came with a restaurant service expectation. But in our email sent before your arrival, we had already informed you about us being takeaway with self-service dine-in.

I have been ordering and dining at…

I have been ordering and dining at Bindia for 16 years and it’s fair to say that that the food quality has continued to go downhill in the last few years and the prices increasing in correlation. I ordered Butter Chicken this evening (after have ordered it and been disappointed the last 2 times) but this time was worse. The chicken tasted old and dried out and the curry was bland. Also not sure why raita was taken off the menu as well as the okra/lady fingers dish. I have gotten the butter chicken for a third of the price at MENY (Claus Meyer) and hate to say it but it’s better. You need to up your game again….

-Chicken Dry?-
I sincerely apologize for your recent experience.

It seems like our supplier suddenly changed the chicken, which was not as soft as the previous one. We are working to get the previous one.

-Raita-
Everything is prepared on a day-to-day basis. Sometimes we cannot anticipate the sale of a particular item. It cannot be prepared right away during rush hours, unfortunately, we have to disable that particular item. This was the case with raita that day but luckily, it happens very seldom. Please accept our apologies.

-Okra-
We love Okra and had it on the menu as well, but unfortunately, it didn’t have much sale. With a heavy heart, we had to replace it with another vegetarian item.

-Gift Card-
As compensation for the subpar experience, I have taken the liberty to issue a gift card which has already been sent to your email.

Please, come and try our Butter chicken again!

Virkelig dårlig oplevelse

Virkelig dårlig oplevelse, var inde og spise hos dem på Østerbro. Det blev næsten 700kr for 2 retter, alt for dyre priser på deres retter og så følger der ingen ris med. Naanbrødet var ikke frisk bagt men varmet i microbølgeovn. Raitaen var bare mynthe chutney som de servede for 45kr. I det hele taget slet ikke det værd til de priser.

Food was cold when I came home and the…

Food was cold when I came home and the mango lassi tasted of water, the naan bread was like chewing a gum and no taste to it. And the butter chicken was without taste as well. So all in all a very disappointing meal.

I checked the data in our system regarding your order:
Date: 21/11/2023
1. The order was made and paid at our website at 16:52.
2. The order was due for pickup at 17:15 approx.
3. The order was ready at 17:12 (3 minutes earlier than the given approx. pick-up time).
4. The order was closed in the POS (cash register) after pickup at 17:23 (8 min. after the estimated ready time).

-Cold Food-
As documented above, you picked up the order around 10 min. after it was done at our kitchen. It is very limited how much our food can cool down in 10 min. when standing inside, in our warm kitchen. And once the food leaves our shop, the temperature of the food is no longer in our control and it depends on factors which we have no control over:
1. How the weather is outside.
2. How far the food has travelled, and under which circumstances (there is a big difference between car and bike in the wintertime).
3. When the food was consumed.
Of course, we all can only wish that the takeaway is served on our dining table, the same way it's served in a restaurant, but unfortunately, the time gap between preparation and consumption is inevitable. We would always replace cold food if it was a Dine-in order, but for takeaway orders, our promise is to have the food ready and warm on the agreed pick-up time.

-Mango Lassi tasted of water-
I am sorry to hear that our Mango Lassis didn't live up to your expectations.

I do acknowledge that some people have the perception of Mango Lassi to be very thick, but in fact, in India, that kind is called "mango shake". In India, people drink Lassi to quench their thirst and it contains a higher percentage of water than ours. Making it thicker would make it a "mango dessert", not a "mango lassi".

-Nan Bread Issue-
I'm sorry if the Nan was dry. Having smaller kitchens we can not room a full-fledged tandoor, therefore, half-baked Nan is received from our production kitchen which we bake at Bindia. Since our Nans are not mass-produced, unfortunately, some Nans don't get top marks all the time.

-Butter Chicken-
I'm sorry that our Butter Chicken didn't live up to your expectations this time. However, I assure you that we haven't changed the recipe. Butter Chicken is our most sold dish, so if there's a general issue with it, we would know it right away.

Nevertheless, I admit that some minor fluctuations might occur once in a while because we use organic tomatoes, which vary in taste. For example, two organic oranges from different trees and different areas would not have the same sweetness and sourness levels. In this case, it could be that the tomatoes' taste would have varied to some extent, affecting the overall taste of Butter curry.

Although we have not received any other complaints about the Butter curry, we will conduct a thorough quality control check based on your feedback. If we identify any minor inconsistencies, rest assured they will be improved before your next order with us.
