Pretty poor
Pretty poor - website is not easy to navigate. Booking an activity seems overly difficult. Apparently you need a bar code to scan to let you through the barriers but I've never received one in my confirmation emails. All in all not a great experience

Healthwise Programme
Although my Better Healthwise programme is limited to 2 week experience and after been involved in only five visits to the gym, I have been extremely impressed with both the excise programme and the helpful advice, assistance and knowledge of the supervisors. It is a most positive experience and I am certain that I will benefit from the programme in the future

gym support
I am coming for medical reasons and I am coming with a carer to support me luckily my carer does weight training so is used to the gym equipment.I had my induction to show me what equipment I needed to use but going in the next time if I didnt have my carer with me I would not have coped as I have memeory problems and couldnt remember how to use the equipment there didnt seem to be any staff around other than those taking classes I dont know if there are meant to be staff wandering around to call on for support but feel there should be staff visable to ask for help

Classes at York Stadium
Having recently started having exercise classes for a hip problem, I can honestly say my experience has been great. The staff are lovely and the range of exercises is fab. I have yet to experience all of them but I intend to do so! The facilities are new and clean. The other people also taking part are very friendly.

Unimposing leisure centre
Friendly, helpful staff. Spacious changing cubicles and good facilities. I would appreciate more hooks &/or hanging rails in the enclosed shower cubicles.
Once you know the system for registering & booking activities - it's straightforward. I felt apprehensive not knowing how things worked but was lucky to have a friend (an existing member) walk me through it.

Went in to do my membership
Went in to do my membership. Despite telling them 3 times what my email address was it was put in correctly. After hearing nothing went in with my Driving Licence to prove my identity as required. They told me they had finished with it.
Then I got a notification to say I had been suspended.
I did eventually have my membership unsuspended but it took time and that is why I have given a 2 instead of a one.

Classes / Gym
New to this gym chain.
Firstly, I am no athlete.
The site is well presented, clean with friendly staff. There was plenty of kit available to use in the evenings I attended.
I've done 4 classes here so far; all well run and engaged instructors.
Stunning site, just check if it's a football match day as parking runs out / is restricted.

I cannot express how amazing the…
I cannot express how amazing the healthwise team have been. Their support and adapting physical activity exercises to meet my needs. I truly have been motivated and continue to be motivated. Their support in supervised gym but I also enjoy rebounder , it is fun and despite my concerns about how my ankle would manage. It was absolutely fine, I had a bar to hold onto and felt safe and no real pressure on my ankle. Thank you for your support so pleased I was reffered to health wise

I couldn’t speak highly enough of the Healthwise classes at the gym. They have literally been my lifeline. Josh, Charlotte and Rebecca make a great team. Classes cater for various degrees of ailing health. I just don’t know where I would be without them. I especially like the fitness rebounder ( trampolines are great fun) and Aquafit. I rate all the classes very highly. I attend two balance classes on a Monday and from having barely any balance, they help enormously. Everyone who attends these classes have noticed a big change in their health and fitness. Long may they continue. What a difference they make to people’s lives.

My locker has been broken into three…
My locker has been broken into three times. On two occasions by Better and my hand bag, clothes left unattended to. No written apologies received. The third time by a thieve and my hand bag and personal items stolen. No apologies and I was told that anything in the locked locker is at my own risk. We are told not to take our bags into the gym or the activity rooms. So where have I gone wrong?

We take security and the wellbeing of our members very seriously, and your feedback highlights areas where we clearly need to improve—both in our locker security measures and in how we handle and respond to such situations. While our current policy states that items left in lockers are at members' own risk, we acknowledge the confusion and concern this may cause, particularly when bags are not permitted in gym or activity areas.
Your concerns have been escalated to our management team, and we are actively reviewing our procedures to ensure better protection and communication moving forward.
