Needs a lot more investment
It's great that there are swimming facilities as well as sauna and steam room. I would like to see much more investment into Better Gyms. Several of the doors in the changing rooms are broken. The place requires much more regular cleaning. Also as I wear headscarf, having showers in a communal area is not helpful. Please can you add showers in the changing rooms??

Very helpful staff
Customer assistant Jodie was very helpful. Unfortunately I was speaking to her about an annoying IT change to the booking system, which I hope will be resolved. The centre is still a great place to come to the gym and pool.

I was very nervous about attending the Wavelengths branch and kept putting it off, but when I finally summoned the courage, I wished I'd done so sooner. The staff were incredibly supportive and knowledgeable, helping me navigate the centre. The fitness instructors were also very supportive and patient, and they showed they cared about how you use the equipment and do the movements safely. Other gym users were friendly and on different levels of fitness, and I didn't feel intimidated; I felt I could go at my own pace with the support to achieve my personal goals. The only small issue is the exercise bikes in the fitness classes; although functional, they could be improved. Overall, this centre has given me the incentive to keep up with my fitness goals. ;))

Ruta's excellent boxfit…
I attended Ruta's excellent boxfit class having been off ill for some months and during the class I had a recurrence of my illness. I would like to compliment the exemplary actions taken by Ruta, Rob and Jodie who attended to me to ensure my wellbeing. Ruta suspended the class and made immediate contact with Rob after checking my initial state. Rob, as manager on duty, took charge of the situation making me feel the reassurance I needed given my incapacity.
I would like to commend the staff for their empathy, attention and support

Excellent Swimming Coach, but Facility Upkeep Needs Urgent Attention
e have been coming to Wavelengths for 2 years, and I cannot praise the swimming teacher, Naz, enough. My 6-year-old son started here as a complete beginner and is now swimming like a pro, all thanks to Naz’s fantastic teaching and support.
While the lessons are incredible, the facilities themselves really lack proper maintenance. The general upkeep is just okay, but the shower cubicles near the standard pool definitely need improvement. We have recently noticed black worms on the walls in that area. I hope management addresses this cleanliness issue soon, as the teaching staff deserve a facility that matches their high standards.

Good facilities and staff but worrying policies.
Facilities are fairly simple but good. Staff are helpful. Women’s only nights for the pool and gym are frustrating as man. I can’t use the facilities two evenings a week is very inconvenient as somebody who works full time. Men should get a reduced rate as a result, or women’s only time should be during the off peak hours to reduce disruption.

Really fun swimming pool party
We had a brilliant time at my son's Swimming pool party, the managers were very helpful and supportive when we needed to make some adjustments to the booking. And Chris and the rest of the lifeguarding team looked after us really well and helped to make it a really fun experience that I know my son and his friends will remember.

The receptionist was really helpful !
The receptionist ( AMY at WAVELENGTHS SE8 ) was really helpful & friendly , and even “hot spotted” me from her personal phone , as I needed help with my current membership being linked to my app . I wasn’t confident I could do this myself tech wise & she was so helpful & successful in sorting out a complex issue , ie; my bookings in the app , my membership & my eligibility document .

I would give a zero star
I would give a zero star, but the option wasn't there.
I booked and paid yesterday online and recieved confirmation for softplay for today for my 2 grandchildren.
I travelled on the bus to Wavelengths leisure centre to be told on arrival that the softplay was closed for a party and should've received an email cancelling the booking. Why take the booking? They knew at the beginning of the week, so the staff on reception told me that there was a party booked!
I had nothing of the sort and had to leave with 2 extremely upset and crying children!

why has the lane swim timetable gone mad you cant have a lane swim that many people and whats happened the tues eve womens swim
rubbish glass mills is much bigger and 12 pep ever 10 minutes not 30

Needs improvement
I signed my child up for monthly swimming lessons. I was told to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time, which we did. I assumed we would have been shown around or given an induction. We were pointed in one direction by a member at the front desk; however, we sat there for ages while another swimming session was going on past our start time. I had to ask a member of staff, and she went to get the correct information and then took us to the right class. There was no swimming cap available, and the shower area was full of hair and dirt. I am looking for another swim class with more structure and cleanliness
