All the staff at the Heworth leisure centre are very polite helpful and knowledgable. Overall I am very happy I joined Better feel healthier and happy already

Change of provider
After concern about the handover from my previous provider the Better staff were amazingly helpful. I was having trouble setting up my account but a very patient, knowledgeable and helpful representative of Better guided me and checked my details and account. Well done Better.

Very stressful
The transition from go Gateshead has been very stressful. Problems with app not syncing with my membership. I would like to say the staff who have been on site have been very helpful. Changing passwords etc to app up and running properly. I am concerned that I don't know my password though ( despite asking) as I will be unable to access benefit offers on the app 🤷🏼

Attended group cycling classes…
Attended group cycling classes yesterday and today. As I expected, there were queues due to the introduction of a new system. I find the App no problem at all to use. However, I experienced issues with the site WiFi which I couldn’t use the system until I turned off WiFi and used my mobile data instead. In view of this I requested and received a membership card as a backup.
The reliability of the site WiFi and reliable internet access is crucial to the smooth running of the system. P.s. the address of Geeorth Leisre Centre in the drop down box below is totally wrong!

Don’t think you should have to book to…
Don’t think you should have to book to do a normal swim or pay if you can’t make a class you’ve booked , you may feel poorly unexpectedly within the 4 hour time slot that you get to cancel

All the information transferred over for gateshead hasn't pulled through and all my daughter information is in correct. Hopefully things get better as we move along and the information updates itself. Not a good start

Terrible non of the menberships were correct, with the take over of gateshead lc. Total shammbles.

Air conditioning not working unbearably…
Air conditioning not working unbearably hot in gym before I even started exercising and had to leave after 20 minutes. Others were leaving too.
Has been broken for over a week and doesn’t seem to be working at all now.
Address of Heworth gym is wrong in your system - the postal address listed is for Blaydon Leisure centre. The gym I attended is Heworth Leisure centre, high lanes, Heworth, Gateshead, NE10 0PD

WentHew to the Gym in Heworth leisure…
Went to the Gym in Heworth leisure centre last night and the Air Con was off but being worked on as i went in
The temperature inside was about 80* so i was sweating straight away, not a problem if there had of been some paper towels in the dispensers or hygiene fluid to wipe the machines afterward, they were all empty!!
First time ive saw the dispensers with nothing in
But what concerned me more was the fact that the guys working on the A/C unit in the ceiling didnt have any barriers up round them and there gear was all over the floor, not very safe at all
Hope these are not signs of what we have to look forward too

We understand how uncomfortable it can be when the air conditioning isn't functioning properly, especially in a gym setting. We appreciate you bringing up the issue with the dispensers being empty as well—this is definitely something that should have been addressed before your visit, and is something we will look into once we start to operate the facilities on the 1st April.
Regarding the work on the A/C unit, your concerns about safety are valid, and we take them seriously. We will also look into making sure proper safety measures are in place for any maintenance work, and that the area is secure during such times.
We value your input and are committed to improving the gym experience. I hope you’ll consider giving us another chance once we take over the operation of this facility on the 1st April.

I have been a gym member for a number…
I have been a gym member for a number of years and love Heworth. However the air-conditioning has been broken for some time. As spring is here the gym is becoming increasingly warm and uncomfortable. Address below is incorrect!
