Unfortunately, despite Better’s response below stating that “the necessary steps have been put in place”, today’s Aqua Aerobics class was again extremely disrupted.

During the class, workmen repeatedly walked directly in front of the instructor, the instructor was told to turn the music down, and a group of schoolchildren were screaming at the top of their lungs, making it difficult to hear and concentrate on the class.

This is exactly why I raised my original complaint. There is more than one pool at this centre, and I still do not understand why one hour of Aqua Aerobics cannot be properly protected from avoidable disruption.

Could consideration not be given to scheduling other swimming activities appropriately during this hour, or at the very least putting up clear signage or a temporary barrier/chain so that people do not continually walk across the area directly in front of the instructor?

Better’s response says that steps have been taken to prevent the previous issues occurring again, but it does not explain what those measures actually are. Given what happened again today, I would genuinely like Better to explain what practical changes have been implemented and how Aqua Aerobics sessions will be managed going forward.

I enjoy Aqua Aerobics and want to be able to attend a scheduled class without it repeatedly being disrupted. That is the issue I would like addressed.

Tonight’s aqua aerobics class was frankly a joke, and by the end of it, a serious safety concern.

Two boys repeatedly disrupted not only our aqua aerobics class but other swimmers using the pool. They were repeatedly coming into the area designated for our class and somersaulting into the pool while the class was taking place. This wasn’t an occasional swimmer accidentally crossing through the class — it was repeated disruptive behaviour in an area where people were exercising.

At least two other swimmers became so fed up with their behaviour that they actually got out of the pool and complained to a lifeguard.

The manager came over on two separate occasions and, at one point, there appeared to be three members of staff involved — yet somehow they were still unable to get these boys to leave the pool. They simply carried on.

Then it became much more serious.

One of the boys somersaulted into the pool and, according to a disabled swimmer, landed on her head. Only after this did management finally manage to remove them.

Why did it have to get to that point?

This gym is open from approximately 6am–10pm Monday to Thursday, yet there are only TWO evening aqua aerobics classes each week — Tuesday and Wednesday — lasting just one hour. Is it really unreasonable to properly protect that one hour so paying members can participate in a scheduled class safely and without people repeatedly entering the designated class area, swimming through it or performing somersaults around participants?

Why can’t the relevant section of the pool be closed to general swimmers during the class? Why can’t the smaller pool be considered for aqua aerobics? Why isn’t there clear signage or a physical boundary stating “Aqua Aerobics Class in Progress – Please Do Not Cross”?

I actually switched from the Tuesday class to Wednesday because of the disruption, only to discover Wednesday is just as bad.

This isn’t about expecting exclusive use of an entire leisure centre. It is about basic organisation, consideration and, after tonight, safety.

When swimmers have already left the pool to complain, staff have been alerted, management have intervened more than once and disruptive behaviour is still allowed to continue in the designated class area until a disabled swimmer says she has been struck on the head, something has gone badly wrong.

Tonight’s incident should trigger a proper review of how these classes are managed and how the safety of aqua aerobics participants, disabled swimmers and other pool users is protected.

Paying members should not have to wait until somebody gets hurt before disruptive behaviour is taken seriously.

Clean, spacious, modern facilities. Very helpful staff. The facilities are great. Lots of equipment. Water, cleaning wipes, air conditioning, etc. Has everything you need. Gym instructors are extremely knowledgeable and patient.

I’ve given 5 stars because the customer service at Edmonton green leisure centre has been amazing. Shout out to the front of house team especially, they have been incredibly helpful, have displayed a good knowledge of what is offered, answered my many (and at times annoying) questions. They’ve displayed a high level of empathy and have gone the extra mile. They deserve a raise.

The cleanliness of the soft play and the children’s pool could be improved though.

Overall experience, having one member of staff at the reception/entrance is not sufficient the staff member managed the customers the best they could ensure to polite and stayed calm. while dealing the customer enquires about swimming classes and attendee having issues/ problems with access, this made the process slow and as your orgisation has strict policy on late attend and charges member £3 for late. Slow service is caused by insufficient staffing that is a operation and planning mistake at best and worse it is poor cost cutting strategy that put pressure on your staff and gives poor service to customers. 2 member of staff at reception is a minimum.

The class was just the right level for my age and fitness. I look forward to more classes.

So i took my 2 grandkids here on saturday afternoon. There was no mention at check in about an issue with zhe training pool. When we got in we found the 90cm depth was now about 45cm depth. When i asked the lifegaurd what was going on he just shrugged. Some of the kids there were probably 9 or 10 and looked strange trying to learn swimming in so liitle water only coming up to there knees. Why were bookings taken if the pool was not up to standard. Can someone tell me is this a cost cutting idea ? Are we meant to accept this because we live in a poor area? How about an apology and a refund!

I was at Edmonton leisure centre in north London in the swimming pool.At 5.30 PM a staff member asked me to leave the swimming pool, Because it was a womens only session I'm disgusted and appalled.This outdated practice takes place in present .I'm thinking of termination of my membership.I paid money like everyone else to use the swimming pool.Im disgusted.The other thing is why don't they have at least one hour for men only if they have it for women.Absolutly appalled and disgusted.

Edmonton Green swimming pool has improved. Aquafit classes are good.
