SWIM SESSIONS LOCALLY
I joined hoping to be able to bring my Swedish granddaughter for a swim at the weekend. We ended up driving to Barton cos there either no sessions available or the pools in Carterton or Witney were closed. About 40 miles round trip for a swim not acceptable. Hopefully things will improve as I use more.

Thank you for your review.
I am very sorry to hear that you were unable to bring your granddaughter to a swim session at the Carterton Leisure Centre recently. The Swim for All sessions on the weekend are limited so you need to book these in advance to ensure you get a slot. The Windrush Leisure Centre does not offer Swim for All sessions on a Saturday but they do offer these on a Sunday. They also offer Family Fun Swim sessions on both days which you are also able to bring your granddaughter to.

Sam has been very welcoming and helpful. The induction to the gym was informative and entertaining. The aqua session was excellent, both as exercise and as education to the sort of exercises that I can do in the water

Memberships need work and feels dirty
Recently left my old gym purely on convenience on getting to it and liked to think I will be able to go to the gym more often. I think it is ridiculous you do not do a couple or family membership.
Swimming pool changing rooms smell awful and attention needed on the showers. Feels dirty.
Gym facilities are good what there is to offer.

Really good gym
Was a member of this gym back in 2019 and really wasn't impressed. But since re joining last autumn I absolutely love the range of classes and the whole vibe feels completely different and more welcoming. The spin classes are really fun and I particularly enjoy Tim's yoga class and tried Evelyn's women's strength class this week and loved learning new equipment I'm the gym to make me more confident in training.

Great gym
Love going to the gym here, never too busy, and lots of choice. I would say that the floor needs a good mop and it’s quite dirty and dusty under and in around the machines

Amazing Instructors at CARTERTON LEISURE CENTRE
I have been going to CARTERTON LEISURE CENTRE for six months and could not be happier with the group fitness classes and instructors offered by the Centre.
Since joining, I have taken a variety of classes such as Spinning, circuit training, box fit, and Zumba. While the classes have varied, the professionalism, enthusiasm, and caring nature of the instructors has remained consistently high.
Two instructors in particular have gone above and beyond in making each class an amazing and physically challenging experience: Clare (Spinning) and Heather (Spinning, box fit and circuit training). Besides consistently delivering an incredible workout in their classes and making me feel that I have been pushed to my own personal limit, they both go out of their way to make me feel welcome in the class.
I am looking forward to sweating it out and becoming stronger and healthier in their classes in 2024!

Carterton - Clares spin class
I have been going to Clares spin classes for over 3 years. The fact they are full every time is testament to how popular they are. I am experienced at spin and get a fantastic workout every time, however Clare is so inclusive, friendly and a highly experienced instructor, she can coach people new to spin, to ensure they not only ride safely but get a workout they enjoy and return to. Clare takes time to know and push everyone in her classes to achieve more than they believe they can do.

Awesome Spin classes with Clare
Awesome Spin classes with Clare , the new early morning session is a great addition so is the new Kettle bell work out. Will certainly be doing my utmost to attend as many as possible and bring my family with me too.

1 piece of kit all the moves.
I have been taking Clare's spin class for for a long time which I love but the past 2 weeks the gym have brought in a morning kettlebells class also expertly driven by Clare. I am absolutely loving how adaptable this class is and how 1 piece of equipment can be used so widely. I have a dodgy knee so can not always do all of the moves but there is always something I can do instead. Clare is a very positive, attentive coach and full of support when needed but also knows when to push me when I'm not giving my all. Mornings are not my thing but I will be getting to as many kettlebell classes I can.

Staff were really friendly and informative, the gym equipment is great and for a first time gym member I found the gym not as intimidating as I expected.

HYGIENE IS NOT TO A GREAT STANDARD
THE CHANGING ROOMS ARE ALWAYS DISCUSTING MY DAUGHTER GOES HERE WEEKLY FOR HER LESSONS ( I CANT FAULT THE TEACHERS FYI THEY ARE GREAT) AND IVE HAD MANY THOUGHTS ON PULLING HER TO THE WITNEY ONE, THE WHOLE PLACE NEVER LOOKS LIKES ITS BEEN CLEANED, THERE IS ALSO A HOLE IN THE ROOF THAT WHEN IT RAINS DRIPS BADLY INTO THE LARGE POOL

I miss my water bottle
Lots of machines to use but I could only find 1 toilet as the other was out of order and the one I used was covered in tissue and water everywhere from the swimming pool. I also broke my bottle as the machines bottle holder was broken and it went straight through and cracked everywhere on the floor. Other than that it’s ok.

We are also very sorry to hear that you broke your water bottle due to this being broken on the equipment you were using. The gym is absolutely filthy
The gym is absolutely filthy, I mentioned this to a member of staff. The staff don’t care and returned the next day to the same filthy gym conditions and another staff member that doesn’t care!

instructors are great
instructors are great, classes are really good and the areas are clean and look tidy but the timetable doesn't always match up to what is going on.. spin is usually an hour on Wednesdays but the timetable says its 45 mins which means if you wanted to do pilates afterwards you have to leave spin early but otherwise all good no complaints.
