I would like to take a moment to thank the two individuals in truck 401 who delivered my furniture today in Provincetown. Both were prompt, kind, considerate and very respectful.... It was very snowy and very cold. They both went above and beyond to make our continued purchases with Bernie & Phyls a pleasant success.... Go Pats!
Bernie & Phyl's Furniture Screws Over Disabled Military Family
With the help of a charity that helps the disabled vets and families get furnishings for their home we went to Bernie & Phyls Saugus Ma. I served in the army and am disabled after working 42 years. They were offering a promotion for either a Master Card or Food Voucher up to $2500.00 depending on amount spent. We spent $8000 and paid for everything so we qualified for a $1600 MC or Food Voucher. We asked about it and the manager said we didn't qualify because a charity helped me. He said in the charity contract the company does not allow them to take advantage of promotions. I found out that is not in the contract and there was nothing in the promotion stopping us from getting the offer. The manager said and I quote " those decisions are made at corporate and my hands are tied". I called corporate twice and was told it was at the discretion of the manager so he lied. They put me back intouch with him and I said I'm not asking for the $1600.00 we qualify for I would be happy with the lowest one for $400 especially since the I have no food for November as the SNAP benefits will not be issued. He said even if the food voucher was issued it would go to the charity that helped me and be in their name. Charity rep said fine and they'd use it on me. I said is losing an $8000 sale worth withholding a $400 food voucher that would have fed my family for a month. He said not to threaten him and to do what I want with the order. I called corporate back and explained everything again in detail and that the manager said the decision comes only from the manager in the Sagus Ma location who has sole discretion. They said sorry but there nothing we can do. He acted like he was paying for the food voucher out of his pocket. People let it be known this company makes hundreds of millions a year and cared so little about people in the community and customers that they refused to honored this promotion even partially to help a family in desperate need. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I bought a sofa and also paid extra for the protection plan, believing it would give me peace of mind. When I filed a claim, they refused to cover it, saying my dogs damaged the sofa. This is completely false because my dogs don’t even get on the sofa. They also claimed it was “full of dog hair,” which is ridiculous since my dogs don’t have fur. It is clear they are just looking for excuses not to honor the warranty.
When I called customer service to explain the situation, the representative was extremely rude and unhelpful, and even hung up the phone on me. That is completely unacceptable and disrespectful. A company that treats paying customers this way has no integrity.
I feel scammed out of my money, both for the sofa and the protection plan. They take your money but don’t stand behind their products or promises. The quality of the sofa is disappointing, the warranty is worthless, and the customer service is insulting.
I would warn anyone: do not buy from this company. They sell defective products, push fake protection plans, and treat customers terribly. Save yourself the frustration and spend your money somewhere else.

Buyer Beware- Do NOT buy anything from Bernie & Phyl's Furniture they do not stand behind their protection plan and blame it on wear and tear, after reading reviews online from people that are all having the same problem they just want your money and lie to you about what you are getting just to put money in there pockets. If you do shop there think of this as a warning before you walk through their doors.

Connie was an excellent salesperson. She helped me get a new recliner chair for next day delivery. 10/10 would recommend Bernie and Phyls to anyone.
Never shopping with them again
I bought a couch after 3 months I received it. Now after 8 months it is so uncomfortable and it was over a thousand dollars. The person they sent out said it is the cushions settling. Well if that is true then it is a garbage couch because sitting on the seats hurts me so much i want to cry. This is so uncomfortable why would I want to feel like I am sitting on concrete after spending so much money. I wouldn't recommend furniture from here. They are very nice but that doesn't change the comfort of their products.

Bernie & Phyls is selling inferior product and not standing behind their customers
This company is selling inferior merchandise and when something goes wrong, they point towards the manufacturer saying it isn't their fault. They are selling junk for top dollar. I purchased a leather sectional one year and one month ago. I live alone so this sofa is not used excessively and it is already sagging to the floor. They sent a technician out who said it cannot be fixed because it is poorly made and others who have purchased from this vendor have had the same complaint. Bernie & Phyls STILL sells it!!! What a scam.

Poor quality furniture, worse customer service
I have purchased 2 seperate living room sets from this store, both broke within 1 year, poor quality. Overpriced furniture should definitely last longer. The biggest issue I have would be their "furniture protection plan" I purchased the plan with both sets and now I am seeing a pattern, they claim they will come out and fix any (non-pet damage) when I called they were unable to have someone come out for 3 weeks, and now they are stating my couch is not covered under the protection because of "accumulation" so I have 1 back cushion that started coming off the couch because of the sewing and I have a few spots we're the fabric is starting to fray so there are too many issues? My husband and I just made purchase of a sofa and ottoman at the store in Newington, NH. We had an excellent experience with Rebecca Hamilton. She was professional, knowledgeable, kind, and most personable. Rebecca offered suggestions and solutions after listening carefully to us. We will wait 4-7 weeks for the items but feel confident we made wonderful decisions with Rebecca's assistance. We actually met an old friend as we were leaving and suggested she look for Rebecca to help her!

I walked in the saugus store and the layout and decor of the furniture made me want to buy everything. I just wanted to re decorate my whole house. I loved so many things. The look of the set ups is so appealing it's almost so hard to choose what to buy.

Purchased a leather sofa and loveseat after less than a year the color was coming off one of the cushions and stitching was coming out of one of the armrests. Also purchased warranty with the set because salesman said it covered everything. Tech came out and said it was it was manufacture defect. Two days after he came out customer service called and said the were ordering parts needed for repairs and it would take about 6 to 8 weeks called after 8 weeks to get a update and was told it wasn't covered. Went to the location where we purchased it and store manager said that we would get at least a store credit, two days later he called and said he could not do that and that it was out of his hands. Bad customer service would never buy from them again!!!

I chose a recliner for $1299 they offer threshold delivery, I live in a condo which is 6 steps down and to take it down into my unit was going to cost $129, my feeling is that threshold is outside the front door of my unit not in the foyer and have me take it down.

My husband and i had a wonderful experience in your Saugus store this morning. We had decided on a new sofa and we were taken care of by A.J Jones. A.J was extremely personable and professional. We are very pleased with our decision and very happy with the service provided.
The Run About
The person who sold us the furniture was very nice. It was delivered on time. It was set up with the power wires to the reclining chair running through the moving parts which severed the wires. That took several weeks for the technician to come out and replace the wires. While the technician was there I showed him that the USB charging port didn’t work. He told me he would order one, and have it shipped to the house. That was 3 months ago. I called the store and they said they have it here, and they will mail it out. 2 weeks later I called and ask where it was, and they said it’s not in yet. I explained 2 weeks ago it was in, and was being mailed. They said call back next week while we track it down. Needless to say I feel their service after you purchase the item truly needs attention . I’ve been patient. But I don’t think I would go back again.
