New means worse

1) 1st appointment 19/3 for eye test with ever helpful Emma. Payment? Sorry, you'll have to wait for a long phone call to finish before the form can be printed (15 mins). Bayfields' computer system clearly more important than keeping customer happy.
2) Nothing heard about new lenses, so rang 6/4 - "Email sent on 21-3", but no follow-up.
3) Collection appointment 10/3 @ 9.30. 1 customer, 1 staff waiting outside - "No key. Fetching from keyholder". Short wait. All new staff from 19/3. New lenses fine (thanks to Emma).

Thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re really sorry your visits didn’t feel as smooth as they should have. We totally understand how frustrating those delays must have been.

The practice has recently moved from handwritten notes to a brand‑new digital system, and the team are still getting used to it. On the day you ordered your specs, we had an unexpected payment issue that needed fixing, and we’re sorry this kept you waiting. The delay at your collection appointment was also out of the ordinary, and we apologise again for that.

Just to reassure you, although the practice is now part of Bayfields, the team who looked after you are long-standing Penny & Hayter staff, including Matt and Ali, who have both been with the practice for years. Emma and the team always aim to give great care, so we’re glad you’re happy with your new lenses.

Excellent Service

I returned to the Practice for the third time in 5 years because I have always experienced very good service from them. There was a really extensive choice of spectacles to chose from The extra time they take in making sure that the spectacles you choose are fit for purpose.They were also very courteous and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to my friends and family

Test great, after care needs improving

My test was very thorough and extremely well explained. The after care is in need of some work. I understand there's a transition in progress from Penny Hayter to Bayfields however if your staff don't turn up to appointments (I waited 40 minutes and did not get to see anyone today), clients will not return. I have paid a lot of money for 2 sets of glasses and for staff to be running late to that degree is not acceptable.
