This is the most incompetent council…

This is the most incompetent council you could ever dream of living under. Even to the last minute despite telling them we have moved and giving them new owner name they still were mixing things up adding our name plus new owner to new bills. They are also the most insensitive. Once told them a tenant they were paying housing benefit to was not paying us the money and there reply was the tenant has asked not to discuss the issue of our flat with the landlord making us lose over £5,000 trying to evict the tenant.

Council audit required

Rude incompetent staff, who talk at you like they are talking to a dog. It amazes me how one can actually pay for rent and council tax, and still be spoken to like they are doing you a favour as a landlord for fixing things in your home. Get a crip customer services, its your job role to respond.

I've been on the phone now waiting for…

I've been on the phone now waiting for someone to pick up, for over 90 minutes. They picked up 3 times in between and there was complete silence on the line and then someone disconnected. I've had to call back 3 times, each time going through the painful menus again, having to listen to a million other problems people might have.

I've tried setting up a direct debit and standing order several times now. They confirmed to me on the phone that there was nothing to worry about - it's all set up. I still kept receiving letters that the payments weren't going through. Now I've been slapped a final tax notice to pay a £1000 at once. I'm a student with debt and two children that rely on me. What an awful experience and not the first time. My experience of the tax and child maintenance people is horrendous. It almost seems that the people working there are as robotic as their telephone and computer systems.

The worst council by far.

The worst council by far.
Just greedy trying to rip of the people, and when you trying to appeal or to contact them about some problem you just hitting the wall.
Tried to contact them about dangerous building site next to my property ( nobody come back to me), got the parking ticket and I was next to the car talking to the traffic warden so got the ticket without any common sense, appeal for it and of course rejected because council need the money.
So really really bad experience.
And as much as I can see lot of you shares same experience.
So many negative reviews and nobody do nothing about that.
Something has to be done about this shameless greedy ........

Appalling service

Appalling service. If you’re lucky enough to get through the infinite loop of automated messages and speak to an actual person, they’re unprofessional and incompetent. Keep transferring the call to someone “who should know”. Very reluctant to deal with anything at all, fly tipping, pot holes, noise complaints, the council does not care.

If I could leave a Zero star review I…

If I could leave a Zero star review I would do so.
In December I realised after out of hospital from a cancer surgery that the recycle bags were running low so I called and eventually after tries go someone who ordered them for me. By January I was out of them and called again and they apologised and re-ordered them. By April I had not received them so I called yet again. Eventually someone answered, which is a rarity with Barnet and people do not exist only automated systems that dont work. The guy was so apologetic and promised he would get me 3 rolls and a roll for my neighbour as I had borrowed one from her. WE are now in June 6 months later and they have not come. I leave my recycling out in plain white recycled plastic bags and the bin guys do not take them. This council has gone done the drain and is such rubbish.

I've had a few interactions with Barnet…

I've had a few interactions with Barnet both before and after my mother's death. I contacted directly the committee in charge of housing on one occasion and the un-gilded contempt that I was treated with was very upsetting.

I've just tried to contact them about council tax and the fact that my mother has died despite filling the Tell Me Once form. The phone has gone dead several times after navigating a bewildering number of options.

Their policy to not collect compost material is lazy and ignorant.

Not Fit for Purpose

While the registrars for deaths service works well. That is the end of the positive side. I recently received a council tax assessment by post. Despite having successfully filled in the form on the "Tell us once" website, which is supposed to notify all germane government bodies, the council tax notice was addressed to the deceased as well as me. The amount was wrong. I went onto the Barnet website and informed them of this. I received an email telling me that the new bill was available for viewing.Having logged in, I could see that my address was incorrect and was not editable. It had not been entered by me. But at least I had access, or so I thought. Not so. It was not possible to view the council tax bill. I tried several times, on different browsers. I then tried ringing. No joy there either.

I probably won't know what the bill is until money is deducted by direct debit. If it's the wrong sum, I'll just cancel the mandate and leave them to contact me.

Incidentally, the email that informed me recommended that I pay by direct debit, so they may not have managed even that.

A final point is the the council knows the online service is not fit for purpose. Otherwise, why include the message "If you have any problems accessing your bill please contact us on ..." in the email? In the circumstances, they should send a corrected bill by post.

The worst service

The worst service, staff are all incompetent and there is nothing positive about any of them.
The bad reviews are all true and if you have experienced anything that is below standard you can take it further don't waste your time raising a complaint it will covered up and you would have wasted your precious time on people who are not fit for the role.

Barnet street service department - LIARS

Barnet street service department – has useless, unprofessional and lying staff. Three times I requested to speak to a manager from this department, and for all three times, I’ve been told that a manager will call me in a specific time-frame. In fact, I’ve been lied to as no one call me back. The name of the manager who supposed to contact me is Donna.
SHAME ON YOU Barnet street service department!

Genuinely one of the worst services you…

Genuinely one of the worst services you are likely to receive. Don't expect to speak to anyone as it seems all automated recordings redirect you to a shambles of a site. Even if your call is regarding something that is not covered by their options.. guess what, you're redirected to this monstrosity of a site that a child could design to be more efficient. Add to that, as a council they are useless and lazy when it comes to resolving anything.... you have to wonder whose pockets the council tax is lining as it certainly isn't improving their services. No wonder the borough is declining with donkeys wasting money on this shambles of an outfit.

Barnet/Crapita Council

Strange to see nothing but bad reviews and still a 2.3 poor rating by Trustpilot ! However let’s not digress from the topic ,mmmm Barnet Council ! Constantly failing in just about every department they have ,the ongoing denial of their failed outsourcing calamity and just about legal.
A workforce that is either temporary ,leaving or about to leave and all experts in not answering direct questions and buck passing ,however they do have a new glitzy advertising campaign on how great they are ! Don’t forget who’s paid for that ! No prizes for getting it right the good old tax payer!
So the best thing to do with these professionals lol ,is exhaust whatever process your trying to get an answer from ,and then issue legal proceedings against them in the County Courts ,don’t waste your time with the complaints procedure or LGO procedure as neither are fit for purpose and heavily biased against you ,have a read up on litigants in person and issue them in the court ,they will argue up to the Court door and pay you out ! It’s the only thing that Barnet will actually respond too is a court summons !

Can’t believe how bad the Barnett…

Can’t believe how bad the Barnett council is.
After having lived across the country, I purchased my own flat in Golders Green and have since had absolute dismal assistance from the Barnett council.
Time too it all up, this useless council has imposed a garden waste service tax to clean up the green bins. This is preposterous as you’re making people pay for enabling cleaner air.
This council deserves to be taken to task and for absolute rotten management of their funds

they don’t even deserve one star

they don’t even deserve one star! Appalling service. Streets and public paths never get cleaned, missed bin collection is their common practice, calls or emails never get updated. Barnet Council is a total disgrace and embarrassment
