Above is the rating for a car I went to buy on Tuesday after reviewing 3 sites using AutoCheck (CarGurus, AutoTrader, and Cars.com). Found out car had been damaged ("minor" per CarFax) at closing but 4 hours into the purchase by that time. Autocheck "footnote" says info depends on the SELLER providing accurate info which calls into question the truthfulness of who you are purchasing from...which calls into question what the term "minor" really means on the CarFax. AutoCheck uses LIMITED resources and after speaking with them, calls into question the HISTORY which stated "no accidents or damage reported." In Summary, AutoCheck representations can be grossly inaccurate and FALSE and while the disclaimer places liability on the seller, AutoCheck portrays its info as accurate and trustworthy. Granted it does provide a BuyBack in the event of its failures to accurately disclose, but there is still a gross loss of faith in that process.
Autocheck falsifies vehicle condition
Autocheck has listed in Vehicle History at a Glance section that my vehicle had "Severe" structural damage. The source was an auto auction claim. When looking at the details on the date listed for the "Severe" structural damage the auto auction line, the details stated: Auction Announced as Structural Damage. There was no information in the details regarding the level of damage.
Autocheck listed (the probable cause) an accident prior to the auction report damage as "Unknown"
Thanks to CarFax I was able to obtain a report from the collision center that had repaired the car for the previous owner. The structural damage was a radiator support.
When I asked Autocheck to change the status of the auction report to "Unknown" reflecting the fact that the auction center only listed a detail that the vehicle had structural damage without mentioning severity I was told I needed to look at the AutoCheck Terms and Conditions, and that I needed to subpoena their legal department if I wanted them to change the report.
If you look at their AutoCheck Terms and Conditions you will find out in Section 8 that they state: NEITHER EXPERIAN NOR ITS DATA SOURCES ASSUME ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ERRORS, INACCURACIES OR OMISSIONS IN ANY INFORMATION OR DATA SET FORTH IN OR/ OMITTED FROM ANY REPORT. EXPERIAN PROVIDES THE REPORTS TO YOU "AS IS",
Scum
They tried to buy a motorbike from me,
when I offered a full motorbike history check
They wanted at all cost to use this website and saying they were going to reimburse me when they were coming to get the bike. Which never happened
Poor service from Experian offer data…
Poor service from Experian offer data guarantee but when you claim it's a false guarantee as they say if they dont hold the data then the data they have were correct. In other words not worth doing the check.
Globe at Home in Leyte
Globe at Home in Leyte , Philippines is absolute rubbish only reasonable late night .During the day it's on and off should be renamed Globe off and on .!!
Total scam
Total scam, they have people go on marketplace and insist you use them but they dont deliver any report
Experian Autocheck - Nothing 'Auto' about it
Experian are an utter bag of horse manure, given my current experience. A week and a half ago I agreed to purchase a new used vehicle from a Dealership, using my existing car as part-ex (which essentially covers the deposit of the new to me vehicle)
The only thing on my side to do was to remove the personalised reg, and wait for the new V5 to be issued. Or so I thought....
Day after purchase, go onto DVLA website, remove my numberplate, get new plates printed, attach them to car and patiently sit and wait for the 3 days for the DVLA to send me out a new logbook with the new non personalised reg on. As of that night, all DVLA and HPI systems updated where I checked.
So I rang the dealer when the logbook arrived, ah sorry sir, we can't organise collection until Experian has updated auto check with the new plate details, the vehicle is still showing on the old one. That was Friday, here we are at Wednesday, and Experian still hasn't updated.
Apparently this is an issue with several people they are having at the moment. Personally I'm not impressed.
Yup, looks like a Scam…
So pleased I Googled this as I was sooooo close to buying a report.
My apparent buyer, Willem Berk, emailed this, which ties in to all these reviews I read...
"It's an online inspection/history report which shows theft records, accidental history, market value and many more things regarding any sort of vehicle. So could you please obtain the check report for clarification? I'm interested in purchasing this vehicle at the asking price but need to ensure everything is clear in the reports. Here is the link to theautocheckup.co.uk. Please let me know if you can access it."
This was my final email to him... "Googled it and discovered it looks very much, as I suspected, scam
Thanks for wasting my time though, I appreciate that, I've got nothing better to do."
Thank you to all those who have reviewed this, otherwise I could have fallen for it.
SCAM SCAM SCAM
SCAM SCAM SCAM. Don't do it. He promises to come and buy the bike but wants a report bought first to reassure him.
It would cost £16 as I used it last month when I sold my bike. It was delivered within a few hours, despite the 12-24 hour timeframe mentioned in £16 Prior Package, and included extensive information across 4-5 pages. This went beyond the basics like MoT and Tax checks, covering areas that are crucial for my peace of mind.
This report not only protects me but also enhances your credibility as a seller. I'm really interested in the bike and willing to cover the cost of the report, reimbursing you at our meeting. This step would give us both peace of mind and facilitate a smooth transaction. Thanks for understanding.
Yes I'm still up for the meeting but you've not sent me the report yet I asked for. Did you get the AutoChecks report?

Do not touch this company Fraud
Having been in the motor trade for 30 years - alarm bells rang when - for the 3rd time in the past 2 years I had a buyer willing to pay the full price - then last minute they ask for this report. Total scam and no matter what you say they will never buy the car without the report being done. Of course they won’t view the vehicle until their mechanic has checked over the report - that you have to buy up front on line with your credit or debit card details handed over. Then your card will be maxed out !!
Do not fall for these scammers
You have been warned !!
Fraudulent
This is a fraud site. They have people messaging sellers, agreeing to come and see the vehicle then asking you for an autocheck report. Then you never hear from them again. Harvesting credit card details. Taking payments for F all.

I was attempted to be scammed by a prospective buyer faking interest in selling my car to them buying this report Autocheck in advance despite it having an HPI check. It became clear it was Autochecks scamming for sales irrespective of their product.
Avoid all contact.

Absolute waste of money! Report came up as finance outstanding when it had been cleared three days earlier!

The searches expire if you don't use them. Please be aware that should you buy the 5 pack that they expire after a month. I did this and hoped to be able to use the extras in the future but for some reason I had an email to say that I had to use my searches or they would expire and be no good. Will never use these guys again because of it. Really no reason for this other than financial gain and ripping of their customers.
Experian car check through Autotrader
Purchased a 5 car check through AutoTrader, could not retrieve the details of the one number plate check I inputted and had to request the number plate check again… I was charged for this even though it was the same number plate and within minutes of each other.
Badly designed website, it has a link straight from Autotrader but did not recognise that I had purchased 5 checks and requested more money when wanting to search a new number plate.
Contacted customer service received a refund of £10 given, therefore I paid £12.95 for one car check! This took 2 phone calls .. more waste of my time!
I would not recommend or use again.
AVOID
Did a check on a 2020 car. Report came back it had been written off in 2006, with change of owners in 1993 and 2005!
Useless report and still waiting weeks later for a resolution. Communication is awful.
I purchased a vehicle and did a check…
I purchased a vehicle and did a check with Experian Autocheck to check there was no outstanding finance on the vehicle. The check came back clear, so I decided to go ahead and make the purchase.
1 Year later I was contacted by a finance company to tell me that they had rights to the vehicle, and there was finance outstanding. I had to pay an additional £9,000 to keep the car, and experian are refusing to make any repayment as part of their "Data guarantee". What a total scam! Make sure you NEVER use this service!
Useless !
