I can’t recommend Martin and Paul enough! Such lovely men. We explained that we needed to be leaving one house at 12 to collect our keys to the next one due to an error at our new house, but they were so understanding and speedy helping us get to our destination on time. They also managed to deliver all our furniture the same evening, meaning we could have our house unpacked and ready for our children coming home. They made our move as smooth as possible and honestly took so much pressure off us by being so efficient. I hope we get Martin and Paul on any future moves we have as I know we will be in great hands.
I can’t thank them enough for all there hard work and helping us so much through what’s normally a very stressful time but with their help it was not stressful at all!

We had a really fantastic experience with Dan and Kyle. They were professional, punctual and handled everything with great care. They worked efficiently while still being very mindful of fragile items and they made the entire moving process smooth and stress-free. Their positive attitude and teamwork really stood out and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was placed exactly where we wanted it.

We received a quote from Armishaws several months ago and paid £100 to be placed on their “preferential list.” At the time, we were strongly encouraged to do this, being told that because they are such a large company it was highly unlikely they wouldn’t be able to accommodate our preferred moving date. We were also told that while cheaper companies might exist, they were far more likely to be unavailable.
Since then, when trying to confirm a date, we’ve repeatedly been told that they only have one lorry available on the day we want to move and that almost everyone is on the “preferential list,” meaning we could lose the date if someone else books first. This directly contradicts what we were told during the initial visit and makes the £100 fee feel misleading.

To better understand what the £100 actually guarantees, I contacted their office and unfortunately their group sales manager picked up. In line with other 1 star reviews, I have never experienced such rudeness, particularly as a paying customer. He repeatedly interrupted me mid-sentence and, when I politely asked to finish speaking, he became hostile and aggressive.

In all my years of dealing with service providers, I have never been spoken to in such a dismissive and confrontational manner. The tone and hostility of the conversation was genuinely shocking and far below any acceptable standard of customer service.

The level of disrespect in his tone was evident from the start and completely unacceptable. As I am heavily pregnant and trying to avoid unnecessary stress, I ended the call. My husband then phoned back and spoke to the same man, who was equally rude, aggressive, and continued to interrupt him throughout the conversation.

I can’t comment on the actual removal service itself (and won’t be able to as we are now going with a much friendlier, customer focused company!) but based on our experience, particularly our interactions with their group sales manager, I would strongly advise avoiding this company.

Armishaws moved my parents in-law from Surrey to West Wales... everything thing ran smoothly and to the plan laid out in advance. Thanks to Paul and Alex , great job lads..still rather it's you than me driving that road train round the narrow Welsh countryside roads.

We used this removal company today and couldn’t be happier with the service. Alan, Rouan, Jamie, Rory and Arthur all worked incredibly hard from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, they were careful, polite, efficient and kept everything running smoothly throughout the move.

This company has been helpful and friendly throughout a long year of packing, moving, storing and moving again. The two people who packed and moved me out did so very thoroughly and both crews managed the logistics of two awkward sites (a red route and a very narrow street). Finally Toby, John and Chris maintained their good humour throughout a very long and exhausting day moving a great deal of boxes into a very small house.

Ben and Raf led our house move - they worked overtime and had a really long day (including some torrential downpours) but were fantastic the whole time. Massive thanks to them and the rest of the team that helped out at other points in the day.

Lovely, helpful and polite service from the removal men made everything stress-free. Would recommend!

Friday 14 November - pouring down! The crew managed to move me out without anything getting wet, spoiled or damaged - brilliant! Monday 17 November - sunny! The crew moved me in in super quick time, again without any damage - effortless (for me!) Congratulations to Alan, TJ, Rory and Rohan!!

Beware of this terrible organisation. The management is a disgrace.
Our removal was under resourced, too small vehicles and not enough men took two days longer than it should have, were in breach of contract ie didn’t provide the packing service we paid for, broke things, then would not give us fair compensation. As we had paid them everything up front, there was nothing we could do. Left us very angry and over £5000 poorer.

Armishaws recently moved us in Salisbury from a 5 bed house to a smaller 3 bed house. We had a lot of things and some items went into their storage.

The team were amazing right from the start of the process. Paul was very friendly and informative when he first visited to discuss the move. He left us feel confident they would do a good job.

We opted for the full packing service and the team on the days were amazing. I can't fault them. They were speedy and efficient and all our belongs turned up un broken and in perfect condition. Arter, Rowan and Paul worked so hard and made the process much less stressful than it could have been.

I would highly recommend using Armishaws if you need to move. They were great!

We had a really exceptional experience with Armishaws, they made moving house incredibly easy and stress free. We had two guys, Ben and Raf, take care of absolutely everything, handling all our items with care and attention and were full of helpful tips to make the process easier.

Their communication made the whole thing really easy, letting us know about what was coming up and how we could help make it flow as smoothly as possible. They also worked with a great attitude and made the whole thing seem stress free. Thank you to both of them!

The company was great throughout the process, from quoting to removal day, taking the stress away. The actual removal crews we had on both days were just brilliant. Calm, quick, organised, and nothing was too much trouble. Would use this company again without a doubt.

We booked the removers and paid for removal to store, then got told it would be done over two days, after we had paid. I gave a provisional date for removal from store to take to our new home and was told yes it wouldn’t be a problem, I just need to give 2 weeks notice. I gave over 3 weeks notice and couldn’t have the date, they pushed it on a further 3 days, so we had our home and nothing in it for 3 days. I explained my husband has a broken back and needed the bed but that didn’t matter, it was a case of we’ve got your money so we can do what we want and not be helpful to us at all. The actual removal men were very polite, courteous and helpful.

Armishaws is very much a third division removal company. As a company there is a serious disconnect between the man giving the quote, the men doing the work and even the accounts department. It is not a company comfortable in its own skin and the client suffers as a result.
The initial visit showed enormous promise of a company that understood the job in hand. Sadly, the nature of the job was never communicated to the men and on the first day of a large job, no member of the management was present.
The quoting process was a frustrating one. Despite repeatedly saying that we would do a good deal of packing ourselves the agent insisted on quoting for a full packing service. This meant that a repeat visit had to be made and a readjustment made to the quote. Trying to get a discount from an inflated price is never a satisfactory way of doing business and might be considered a sharp practice particularly as the agent was unable to make the repeat visit himself. This created another problem in that he lost the opportunity of seeing more accurately the nature of the job (in the end we needed an extra lorry) and the management representative who did visit clearly did not communicate to the men doing the work the nature of the job as it wasn’t his quote in the first place.
On the first day I had to brief the capable foreman from scratch and in fact throughout the whole process of loading and unloading he and I worked closely strategizing what should happen when. The forman was hamstrung both by the lack of management communication and by some members of his team whose philosophy was clearly to get it packed in whatever order and onto the lorry as fast as possible and in the reverse to unload and dump where ever The result of this is that we cannot assume from the labelling of the boxed packed by Armishaws what is in them or indeed which room they originally came from. Very frustrating.
And then there are the breakages. You always expect a few bumps, however, the lions share all occurred in the process of packing and loading. The glass on a large antique textile was shattered by a bull in a china shop man bumping into it. Armishaws accepted the blame and have offered to pay but it is all down to us to sort and nothing is on paper. Also, the gilt frame of a large painting was badly damaged and mysteriously the pieces of moulding were not in the packaging. This suggests that the item was damaged either coming off the wall or in the packing and the man involved decided to hide the evidence. On this occasion having paid the bill in full before the start of the job there is no recourse and we have been told to claim on our household insurance.
They have since sent someone from management to sort out our complaints but having promised to get right back to us has never done so. This was two months ago.
I will not be recommending Armishaws to anyone.

We received a piece of important information late in the day, we were told no move date can be agreed until after contracts are exchanged but the completion date, we understand, must be in the contract. We experienced no benefit being on the preferential list and were required to pay £30 admin fee even though no date can be offered before contracts are exchanged. Sadly, we had to cancel our plans to use local Armishaws. We went to another company. Near identical quote but with fully refundable and date transferable deposit and a highly contrasting customer experience.
