Great route, and great service - only lost a few points as the MV Côte d'Albâtre is showing its age in places compared to other ferries I’ve used in recent years. Still, not a reason to not use this convenient route.

CETTE fois, l'espace détente avec fauteuils inclinables était bien chauffé, ce qui a permis une bonne sieste pour bien préparer la route de l'autre côté de la Manche. Merci

The process of embarkation and disembarkation for foot passengers is poor. Cases were taken without giving any info as to why - we assumed it was just to leave space for passengers on the bus to the boat - but in fact they disappeared for the duration of the journey. Fine - easier to move about etc. But whilst foot passengers were taken off the ferry before cars (corralled in a room for disembarkation about half an hour before actually leaving the ship), bags arrived about half an hour later, after all the cars had been taken off. And staff at Newhaven could not have cared less or been less helpful about when the bags might arrive. As with many other ferries, foot passengers are the poor relations to the drivers, with little thought or consideration given to information about the process at any stage. We probably won’t sail with DFDS again.
