Absolutely the worst tutor I've ever dealt with. If I could give 0 stars, I would. He essentially struggles to explain concepts in a way that helps students understand them. We don't need someone to simply repeat what's already written in a textbook. After switching to another tutor for my child, the difference was night and day.

I would not recommend him to anyone looking for quality tutoring.

My twin boys have been attending Ash’s classes for 11+ exam prep over the last 8 months . They thoroughly enjoy and learn immensely from Ash’s classes. Their performance and scores in mocks has improved significantly . One of my child passed the St.Olave’s choristership academic test with flying colours and has been offered a place at St. Olave’s through the Wakeham Choristership Programme. My son studied with Ash for a year while preparing for grammar school entrance exams, and the support was excellent. He helped build strong maths skills and effective problem-solving techniques that really improved my son’s confidence.

The mock tests were outstanding, making them very useful for exam practice. Ash is always approachable and gives regular feedback to parents, which we greatly appreciated.

We would suggest adding some in-person mock tests for a more realistic experience. Overall, we are very grateful for the teaching and would highly recommend Ash for grammar school preparation.

Great tutor. Helped a lot through out the 11+ journeys

Absolutely terrible. The worst.

My son started doing classes with Ash from Year 4 onwards and his performance and grip on the subjects improved quite a lot. Ash’s classes are very informative and he has a friendly approach with the kids. We even did extension classes with Ash which are quite helpful if you are studying for super selective schools. My son thoroughly enjoyed his classes and has been selected for all the 3 Sutton schools, Judd and St Olave’s.

Ash has been outstanding in helping both my children achieve exceptional 11+ results. My daughter secured a top 180 place at Townley Grammar School and my son gained admission to St Olave’s Grammar School. Although the tuition is delivered in a group online setting, his teaching feels highly personalised, structured, and focused on each child’s individual progress and weaknesses. The regular mock exams were especially valuable in building exam technique, confidence, and time management under realistic conditions. Ash sets high standards and encourages students to work hard consistently throughout the preparation journey.The online portal provides excellent transparency, detailed progress tracking, and continuous feedback, keeping parents fully informed at every stage. Ash’s expertise, professionalism, and genuine commitment to his students’ success make him one of the best 11+ tutors, and I would highly recommend him to any parent preparing their child for grammar school entrance exams.

We started tuitions with Ash with a few months remaining for the exams. We registered for the revision course and did some extra sessions with him. My son gained immensely in those few months. We could see the difference in his approach to the mock exams and his preparation for much stronger.
He qualified for the 3 Sutton schools and Tiffins Boys.

ACE Tutorial is a place to go to, if you are coaching your kids to Grammar School. Ash has been around for god knows how many years - I heard about him even before I had my son. We engaged few months before my son's grammar school exam for summer time revision sessions. My son enjoyed his online lessons - there was quizzes, tests and of course incorporated with his lessons, so students gets engaged at all times. When my son got through S2, we engaged again with him for his Masterclass sessions- again was very useful. The other unique part of ACE is that, he has a student portal where they can sit for allocated tests, view results and then try again. It helps students to continuously practice. Highly recommend Ash if you would want your child to get into a grammar school.

The online teaching was outstanding with lots of practice and also gave lots of feedback on scores and rankings so you are able to see where your child stands compared to her peers and you able to see how much more work if needed to achieve your goal. Also my daughter scored very well in her Kent exam and Bexley exam but we are very excited that she will be joining Newstead.

Ash is a superb teacher, he gets the best out of the students by pushing them to the highest standards, whilst the children enjoy his class which is conducted in a comfortable collegiate manner. Our child had several tutors and by far Ash was the best- our child passed all exams she applied for (Newstead, Bexley, Kent).
