Con artists. Took 12 months membership payment then shut gym after 6 months promising to refund for remaining 6 months. Now saying they will not refund anything. DO NOT JOIN 24/7.

Con artists - took a full year’s payment from me then shut down. Promised a refund then reneged.

Avoid at all costs.

The same happened to me as all the previous reviewers. They take a yearly membership payment, then close the gym down, and say that after reviewing the terms and conditions you are not due a refund. How can this be allowed, when the closure of the gym is totally out of our control?!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY. Dec 2019: My gym was closed a month ago and have not received a refund for my £120 year membership of which I used two months before the closure. Constantly tried to get in contact and no response.

Edit Aug 2020: FYI it's now August and still never received my money. I've been conned.

247 fitness Bromborough are complete crooks. I paid a dull 12 months subscription in Sept 2019 and they closed Oct 19 I have been promised a refund and promised it will be paid by 18th Nov but yet still no refund. Customer service is none existent and the phone number is a debt credit business that have no info on your account!!!!! If you paid with Visa card or PayPal you can start a dispute and hopefully something will happen.

This company lies to customers, Bromborough site closed. Owning me 3 months prepaid subscription approx. £50 but 24/7 refunded £3.40. I will be reporting this company to a wider forum.
Do not make pre-payment to this company.

If your gym & it’s equipment are getting shoddiest & shoddier then be wary & hope they don’t sell your gym as they did the Bromborough gym & then dream up reasons why they are not obligated to refund your membership if you have paid for a year upfront - customer service rubbish & remember most of the people working there are self employed & theyare treated just as badly....

Joined York gym and am blown away at the fantastic customer service, clean gym with excellent kit, good pricing and the fact there's a sauna. Classes are good, gym isn't too busy and the atmosphere is friendly. Really impressed.

Paid for a year up front and now they've closed the gym after 9 months. Claiming they owe me no refund even though I have 3 months remaining. DO NOT sign up and pay in advance for 12-months, when things go wrong (of their own doing) they won't refund you what's owed.

Looks like this company also tweak the reviews!!!
As one minute there were 168 reviews and the BAD percentage was higher than it now is!!!
This company are unable to take criticism and try and make changes.
They deny that there are issues with the gym but the company need to ring the other local gyms to get feedback about why some people have left 24 7 Fitness but have not complained!!!
I have been left with no choice but to leave my feelings on this site as they will not respond to emails.

I have been a member now with 24/7 Fitness for just over one year. I use a multisite membership and I have to say that the gym's that I have visited are amazing!! Always friendly with an amazing vibe the moment you walk through the gate! Most of the gyms now have fingerprint entry which just makes me feel more secure the only one I have been to that does not is Wisbech but this club is located inside a Tesco which makes it very good and for me being a single parent as it means I can pop and do some shopping after my workout it's so convenient!! Plus this gym is in the Fens which is close to home for me. The clubs I have trained at are Wisbech, Norwich, Wednesbury, Birmingham and Kidderminster all of which are outstanding quality!! Great work 24/7!! And thank you to all your awesome teams that are happy to help out and answer any questions I have :)

I joined the gym a few weeks ago to gain some general fitness. Absolutely love it. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Huge variety of machines and class choice. One of the PT James Pinnington ( Jay) was extremely helpful when I asked him a few questions and took time out to have a chat with me about what I wanted to achieve, showed me a few basic machines and exercises to get me going and encouraged me to sign up for a full indication and advised me I could ask him for help any time . What a credit to your company!

This is referencing Birmingham Bearwood 24/7 gym. I have been a member at this gym for over 15 years. Over the last few years I have seen Denise the cleaner pick on and bully old Asian ladies especially the ones that don't speak English/ not good English. Today I could not tolerate it anymore and I stood up to her when she was again bullying a old Asian lady and asked her why she does this because if someone from a different background other than asian does the same she doesn't say anything. Then her Daughter who is the cleaner with her came and stood in front of me and both of them were trying to intimidate me. Then to make matters worse rather then address the problem that has been ongoing for years Alex the manager again turned a blind eye and advised I was the one in the wrong for standing up again bullying against old asian ladies. I will be sending a detailed update and requesting Head office investigate this establishment that supports bullying and Racism.

Wish I could leave a zero star!
So for months I hadn’t been using the gym as I was under the impression that my membership had been cancelled. Noticed an amount I didn’t recognise in my statements. Called the number it was their finance department. Queried the payment, found out it was for my 24/7 fitness membership. I was shocked n informed him it had been cancelled months ago, he basically stated that actually it had been on hold not cancelled.

Been back and forth emailing to find out that not only had it not been cancelled but it had neither been on hold either : what a joke.

Feel conned right now!

Terrible company terrible gym, member for a year and cancelled my membership due to gym getting worse by the day, then they sent debt collection company to send threating letters and trying to force me to pay 6× a monthly membership how they think I owe anything when I didn't even go into the gym after cancelling is beyond me embarrassing company. Never will ever join them again and now thankfully have got 8 of my friends to cancel there membership with 24/7 so the real joke is on you losing out on 8 monthly members and i will keep making that more. Go to Pure Gym much better.

Hi I was a member of 24/7 fitness in YORK I have left that gym regrettably and sadly. I found the staff to be both rued judgemental and bitchy and gossipy. What more can I say, I would have had a personal trainer but will spend my money elsewhere. The was I was treated by the staff and the things that were said about me were cruel and unkind . I left when it was fitness first for the same reasons, staff are unprofessional and require customer service training but what do you expect for a budget gym with no customer services. I can think of 3 staff who were rued the guy on reception, a personal trainer who was rued about me to a club member and a female member of staff who was two faced. I would not recommend this gym in York to anyone, as there are better gyms. Even budget airlines treat there customers better 😆😆😴😊

Lots of equipment and brilliant classes. You certainly get what you pay for and much more. The price is unbelievably good for the services you get.
Simple rules, Pay on time so you don't get extra charges. That goes with everything in life. So the people that moan about this are dumb. It's all in the T&C's
For budget gym prices. It is excellent

Unacceptable service from the head office of 24/7.
I had signed up by accident as a pop up window confused it with the local gym I wanted and asked for a refund.
After 1 month the refund was agreed, but not received after 2 months still.
The local management is good but they can't do anything as they rely on the head office.Their emails have been neglected.
The service is atrocious!

Quite shocking how this company has been putting prices up and slowing depleting services. In Halifax, now they have closed sauna and stream room. Sunday is one off the busiest days. Only reason I could think of this below the belt behaviour to disadvantage one certain type of community who are a large number of users on sunday. Ppl need to report this discrimination and protest it. I will raise my voice on all forums.

For not making one payment on time they've charge me almost extra twice worth fee, of one month payment. I'm not recommending and avoid any contracts with them. Also I cannot Pay them with the option they want. There is some issue. They've ripped me. No thanks.
