Thought I'd give another news outlet…
Thought I'd give another news outlet subscription a shot after I got really annoyed with a previous one that I had for multiple years. Signed up for a digital subscription and everything went okay up until this month when I got charged $42 instead of $4.20 for my monthly subscription. Turns out after the first 12 months they just raise the price without warning. Cancelled and asked for reimbursement. Thought it can't be that I am charged 10 times the price of last month's subscription. Customer service is not cooperating withmy request for reimbursement. They're just referring to their security policy not discussing financial information per email. Asking them to refund me instead wasn't successful. Needless to say that I'm not going to pay money for a news outlet subsciption ever again. Enjoy your financial gain, WSJ.com.
Late delivery every day
Print edition gets delivered by USPS very late in the day at my house. When I became a subscriber, nothing was said about this. Never thought I'd be getting a paper after 5:00 pm every day. Feel mislead.

They seem to have gone into hiding. The only way they want to communicate is through chat — a frustrating experience at best. I suppose that’s the only way to justify their large AI expense.
The original issue had to do with needing to go through sign-in hoops every time to read an article. It’s a newspaper, not Fort Knox.
If there was a ZERO
If there was a ZERO - I would have picked it. Wall Street Journal in my area has not been delivering the paper on time. I called and spoke to a supervisor and was told they are now being sent through the postal service and have an expected delivery of 3 to 9 days...they stated they had changed it up - but obviously didn't send out an email of anything to let the customers about the change - have been with them for over 15 years now. They do state that you have access to see it online or audio options ON TIME, FOR THAT DAY, not 3 to 9 days later, but have been delivering it ON THE DAY for over 15 years (just issues every once-in-a-while) I requested a credit and was told they would be willing to prorate 2 months only with a cancellation included. It's seems like they are trying to push customers to go online or cancel if you're getting the printed version. We've been loyal customers when sales probably weren't what they are, but I guess this is what loyalty gets you when they don't need you anymore...truly sad because it's a wonderful feeling just holding the Wall Street and catching up on everything going on in the World.
Start reporting the real news
Start reporting the real news. Allowing this current administration to completely act like the clowns they are and not reporting it is a joke. I won’t trust or subscribe to WSJ ever.
Wall Street Journal Bias-free News & Fair-minded Opinion
Wall Street Journal consistently rates as moderate for news--meaning there's no bias. "Just the facts" is a truism with WSJ. Even the editorial pages, though it leans into its business audience, is not afraid to criticize both parties. As for subscriptions, yes, they continue until stopped. If trying WSJ on an introductory rate, be aware that cancellation must be done during that last month!
My Frustrations with Wall Street Journal Digital
I had a subscription a long time ago, and everything ran smooth. This time, I signed up at a discounted rate a week or two ago for the digital version and worked with a few different customer service reps over separate days to try to get it to work. One even suggested I use my laptop to get it to work. (I wanted to view the WSJ on my IPhone.) That didn’t work. I think I was able to view in the app without getting a subscription request just once. I tried it again today, May 23, 2026, and the same thing happened — a subscription request popped up. Today’s rep kept asking me if I wanted help to get it to work. Then he told me that sometimes they have trouble with digital subscriptions. I kept having to say no. Then he talked over me, said have a nice day and hung up. Trying to get this subscription to work has been sooo frustrating! And, I really wanted it!
Bad/ Unhealthy/ Anti-American news outlet
It’s a very biased news outlet with heavy negative opinions against the current administration. It really makes you wonder how much/ long have they been infected/ dictated/ managed/ benefited by anti-American entities. Delete their Apps and subscriptions to relieve yourselves from many of the unhealthy/ negative/ garbage/ false opinions.
Subscription process is a scam
Subscription process is a scam. They intentionally make their subscription rate change as hidden as possible and ensure to put "if you don't cancel by X date you're screwed" and then charge a massive fee that was more than the entire previous year combined. It's intentional and its deceitful. Should be a class action lawsuit...

Miss every other saturday paper
Miss every other saturday paper, lie and say it will come on sunday, never does. have to call every time to get a credit when they know damn well it is their fault.

Don't sign up for their promotional offer period.
They continued charging me even after I called to cancel the initial 6-month trial. I trusted the brand so much, which was my mistake. Today, when I called to inquire why they were still charging my CC after cancelling 8 months ago, I was transferred to another department, where a supervisor named SOL acted smug and refused to refund. TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS. WATCH OUT.
Malicious Subscription Practices
Legacy media company desperate for your cash. Will scam you with some low introductory offer and then sticker shock you with a $55 a month subscription. Looking forward to their bankruptcy. AI stock news FTW!
Business FRAUDS who will RIP YOU OFF
I renewed by WSJ+ subscription on Feb. 9th thinking it was the renewal of the prior subscription. Low and behold yesterday i got charged $54.99 and when i called WSJ they said that first subscription used a DIFFERENT EMAIL than current renewed subscription and therefore had not been cancelled. I asked for a refund of the $54.99! NO REFUNDS ALLOWED AT ALL! talked to supervisor LIZ who canned the same BS after i explained the situation. So I renew as a faithful customer and all WSJ wants is $$ no matter how they get it. HORRIBLE. NO grievance procedure or any recourse for me. I will let BBB know and social outlets.
The Good, Bad and Ugly
I find the reviews interesting in that they span opinions from too far "left" to "controlled by the Pentagon" and "pro" Trump. This tells me the WSJ must be doing something right, reporting both sides of the news. It is the only source I've found I can trust to not slant all its news to fit an ideology. BUT, the complaints about delivery and pricing are well-founded, and News Corp should be ashamed of this blatant mistreatment of WSJ readers and their rampant greed in pricing and not paying refunds.
WIFE AND/OR I SUBSCRIBED FOR FORTY…
WIFE AND/OR I SUBSCRIBED FOR FORTY YEARS. ALTHOUGH THEY ARE STILL CONSERVATIVE-LEANING, IT IS QUITE OBVIOUS THAT THEY DISLIKE PRESIDENT TRUMP. IT GETS RIDICULOUS, SOMETIMES. SO WE CANCELLED RECENTLY. WE CAN READ THE HEADLINES, THEN GET LESS-BIASED INFO ELSEWHERE.

I tried to subscribe to the Wall Street…
I tried to subscribe to the Wall Street Journal (online digital only subscription) yesterday and my checking account was debited $8.56 for the first month's subscription. But when I tried to access the digital content the website said my subscription had expired. I tried everything with their customer service department - online chat assistant and calling the 800 number - and have had no resolution. The customer service agent with whom I spoke didn't speak much English and had trouble understanding my issue. He said he'd send a link to reset my password and never did. The customer service page on the WSJ website is useless. Options are limited and everything is circular.
The Wall Street Journal email e edition…
The Wall Street Journal email e edition subscription price is too expensive. My original subscription expired but I was not notified of the increased cost that was automatically charged. I thought the WSJ had more integrity. With electronics available today, you could easily notify your customers. If a subscription is cancelled, a partial refund should be issued but is not. Shame on the WSJ.
