I had the opportunity to volunteer at the thailand vet clinic for two weeks. Prior to attending the information sent out was very informative and provided all the information I needed to know, it was also great that transfers were provided as this took away a lot of stress. The accommodation provided was to a good standard and so close to the beach which was an added bonus.

In the vet clinic the induction provided was very informative and the team were amazing at making you feel part of a team. I got the chance to undertake lots of surgery which was really beneficial as a new graduate with limited experience. However the team were also great at ensuring I wasn't too far out my comfort zone and took the time to teach me good skills.

I also got the chance to see the other side of the charity by doing beach walks and feeding runs of the local street dogs.

The weekends were free so we got the chance to chill out but also partake in weekend activities which are run every 2 weeks.

Overall I would really recommend to anyone wanting to improve their surgical skills and also spend time in an amazing country

Excellent way to learn the standards to castrate and spay street dogs and see differents ways to manage surgery and medecine than in Europe.

An experience of a Lifetime! WWV were very helpful throughout the booking process. Gemma answered emails quickly and was always on hand to answer any queries. Information prior to booking was useful.
We went on the Safari Stables Project in Zimbabwe. This is a Volunteer project so don't expect 5 star waitress service - it's a working holiday. But, for that you feel part of the team, you are hands on, see things that you wouldn't normally on a standard safari and learn so much about the Wildlife, the area and conservation from the team at Antelope Park. Well worth going and now thinking about either going back or on to a different project - the World is big!

My time in Thailand was so special. I loved every day working at the clinic. I learned so much more in just 3 weeks. I am grateful that I got this opportunity and would highly recommend this project.

I photographed Gemma sedating and helping evacuate 9 lions out of an active war zone in Odesa, Ukraine. This amazing and daring rescue was done in collaboration with “braking the chains” and “warriors of wildlife” but could have never been done without Gemma’s expertise with Lions.
The work and knowledge worldwide vets does for animals and Gemma’s dedication to the animal cause is something I had never witnessed before.

I worked with Gemma in Ukraine and she's one of the best I've worked with. Solid knowledge, always up to help and willing to go out of her way for all animals big and small. No job is too big and always does it with a smile, fantastic after care and clear instructions.

Internship Type: Safari Vet (Wild Spirit)

I had a fantastic time! Dr. Fabiola is an incredible teacher and leader who is extremely passionate about wildlife conservation, which made me feel even better about my decision to attend her project. I always felt 100% safe, cared for, and thought of throughout the entirety of the trip. That woman really is my hero and I couldn’t be more grateful to her!

Favorite Part: Getting to advance my wildlife veterinary nursing skills while also making an active difference in African conservation.

Least Favorite Part: I got super sick due to the cold winter weather, which my body was not used to! So pack cold medicine in advance and don’t just rely on your winter clothing, just to be safe!

My family and I had a happy and memorable week at the sanctuary in Bulawayo this Summer. We babysat tiny baboons, built enclosures for bush babies, got to know monkeys and dodged out of the way of Terry the one-winged vulture. From the oldest of us to the youngest, we had a wonderful time, and felt we were helping a special place with an important mission. We were made to feel welcome and part of the team, we all did things we didn't know we could do, and we left with a treasure trove of memories and photos. We will be back!

The safari stables project qas utterly breathtaking. The staff were amazing so helpful and kind and accommodating. There was so much to do and see at all times. There was also lots of time to relax. The safari stables project helped me develop my confidence too and I did things I never thought I would. I would 100% recommend booking this trip.

I had the absolute pleasure to participate in the August 2022 African Vet Conservation Project this past month. When I first stumbled across the World Wide Vets website and saw the promotion for this project, I was immediately intrigued and reached out to World Wide Vets to find out more information. I was spoken to by the most helpful, and kind employees including Sarah Kickhofel and Gemma Campling, who had guided me through the entire booking and pre departure process.

Once I arrived at the project early August, the team did everything they could to make all of the students comfortable, and provided us with outstanding accommodations throughout the entire trip. The three weeks I spent on this trip were unforgettable, this project changed my life and enhanced my passion for wildlife care and capture tremendously. Thank you to the entire team on the African Vet Conservation Project for giving me the time of my life. Cant wait to do it again :)

This project has been the most amazing experience I could ask for! Everyone on the team was very helpful, supportive and super friendly. Booking this project was so easy with the help of Sarah and Gemma, who were always available to answer any question or query. I got the chance to be involved in all different aspects of wildlife medicine, management and conservation. I feel really privileged to have worked with such inspiring people – the amazing team and the other students in my group, and meet new friends from all around the world. I have no doubt I will return for other projects in the future. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in knowing and learning more about the current wildlife situation in South Africa.

On the 6th of June, myself and my best friend made our way out to Zimbabwe. I can whole heartedly tell you that it was the most amazing experience of my life so far. The people who cared for us were amazing, the other Volunteers were amazing and seeing a different culture was also incredible. From riding in the Zimbabwe bush, to seeing Lions, Elephants and Giraffes up close, i enjoyed every single minute of it, and would do it all again in a heartbeat. I’m hoping once I finish University to do a gap year, and travelling back to Zim to do the Safari Stables Project again, will be at the top of my list. If you are undecided on whether you’d like to do the project or not… DO IT! I loved it every second of it.

I booked my Safari Stables project in Zimbabwe through Worldwide Vets, and I couldn’t have had a better experience. The actual project it’s self was life changing and different experiences with the horses whilst riding out in the African bush was a once in a life time adventure. Meeting people of all different cultures and backgrounds was also a massive highlight. Booking through Worldwide Vets was also very easy and Sarah and Gemma were both always on hand to answer any queries before I flew out to Zimbabwe. I would not hesitate to use them again for future adventures.
