Excelent experience
Everything went well. Easy communication. If I needed something I wrote and they wrote me back as soon as possible. Everybody was super nice. Definitely would recommend going with them. Would go again.
SOS Widlife project and Rhino Dehorning Mission: Life-Changing experiences !
I booked in August two volunteers programs with WWV: the SOS wildlife in South Africa and the Rhino Dehorning mission in Namibia. I highly recommend them: the programs are so great and the people of the teams are so welcoming, passionate and I had beautiful experiences with wildlife !
During the SOS wildlife project we had the chance to work with an incredible staff ( Sven, Meghan, Ryan and the other member of the team) during mass captures or with rhinos and cheetahs.
The Rhino Dehorning Mission was incredible too. We had the chance to work close to these gentle giants with a passionate team. We also worked with giraffes and sables. The lectures were really interesting ! Gemma and Lisa and the whole team in the reserve is amazing !
Can’t wait to book my next program !!
Amazing Experience
I had an amazing experience at RAREC Center in Peru!! Worldwide Vets allows veterinary student to explore different areas of our curriculum while exploring different parts of the world. I am so grateful of this wonderful experience!!
Amazing experience
Amazing experience, great place, lovely hospitality, exciting and interesting adventures every day!
I don't even know where to begin..
I don't even know where to begin.. Rhino dehorning with Worldwide Vets was a life changing experience for me. I learned so much and have a new love for Rhinos now. Gemma and Lisa were absolutely amazing and I gained a lot of new friends from this project. I hope to be doing many more projects with them in the near future!
My time with Worldwide Vets was…
My time with Worldwide Vets was unforgettable. I learned, I grew, and I got to work hands-on with wildlife in a way I never imagined possible. The team was supportive and kind, and this experience confirmed that conservation is where my heart belongs
Rhino dehorning in Namibia was excellent!
Such an amazing trip! The forethought that went in to the course was amazing. All of the lectures were spot on and were very casual so we could have conversations at any time. The facilities were wonderful (soft beds, hot showers!) and the food was amazing. No complaints! Would do it again in a heartbeat!
Life-Changing Experience!
I was a little on edge about doing this project at first. Traveling abroad felt like a big step. I kept questioning and questioning myself about it. But now I can say with confidence: Money comes and goes, while experiences like this last a lifetime.
My time with Worldwide Vets in South Africa was absolutely life-changing. I had the chance to work hands-on with incredible wildlife while also learning about the significant help and support the communities there need. The staff was so welcoming, knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable from the start, while also giving me the space to grow and learn so much.
It was better-sweet to come back home, but with everything I learned and saw, I will definitely be going back. Africa has shown me its beauty, and I have fallen in love.
If you're hesitating, take the leap. It's an experience you'll carry with you forever!
Kruger Vet Project - A Must for Students or Experienced Vets!
I had an amazing experience on the Kruger Vet Project with WWV. Sarah was extremely helpful in booking everything and Bailey was quick to respond to any questions we had.
Sable Creek Lodge was a beautiful place to stay, warm people, great food and comfortable accommodations.
Juri, Alize, Jana and all the staff at Livingstone Experience went out of their way to make sure we had the most amazing experience with animals and got to explore so much of what South Africa had to offer.
They care a tremendous amount for their animals and the experience of their guests. As a Vet with other 15 years clinical experience, I learned a tremendous amount from the Livingstone Experience team and the Veterinary team.
I highly recommend the Kruger Vet Project, the Livingstone Experience team, Sable Creek Lodge and Worldwide Vets!
Amazing
Amazing - I was in the free to be wild sanctuary through WWV for two weeks and it was absolutely incredible. You get to interact with the animals and care for them which is an experience for a lifetime. I am looking forward to do many more projects with WWV.
Thailand Clinic - open to all!
I have volunteered as a vet with WWV in the past in Ukraine, so I knew they were a very reliable charity I was looking for a place where my niece could gain a unique experience having just turned 18, and for me to use my skills for a good cause.
We chose Thailand and haven’t looked back.
Organisation and support by Bailey was flawless- thank you. Pick up and drop back to Bangkok were easy. Accommodation - basic and clean, and all that was needed.
The staff at Rescue PAWS were very welcoming as well as all the volunteers already there. I’ll let my niece review the non-clinical - but just to say she’s already planning to return and has ‘grown’ so much from the experiences and people.
The clinical team are so hard-working, caring and efficient. Neutering is certainly fast pace! Lots to learn about ((large) wound care and healing. Basic orthopaedics, mass removals etc. Coming from the UK, you need an open mind, a willingness to learn, go with the flow and just get stuck in. Resources can be limited, but so much can still be achieved.
An ideal volunteering placement to share if you’re a mix of clinical and non- clinical people.
Amazing Experience
I have completed 2 programs through WorldWide Vets and look forward to completing more! I did the RESQ program in India and the Asian Elephant Clinic in Thailand. Both experiences were amazing! I communicated with Bailey and she was extremely helpful in answering all my questions and booking the programs for me. I highly recommend going through WorldWide Vets when looking for a vet/animal related volunteer program. I also highly recommend the RESQ program as I cannot say enough great things about the program and the people.
INCREDIBLE
INCREDIBLE - if you're on the fence about booking a trip with Worldwide Vets, this is your sign to GO FOR IT! I was on the Kruger Vet Project in South Africa and it was the most extraordinary 2 weeks of my life. Accommodations were comfortable, food was yummy, the work meaningful and thrilling, the people were so nice and happy to have us there. Truly couldn't have asked for a better experience. I can't wait for the day that I can go back
Extremely well organized and fun
Extremely well organized and fun! Our guide and fearless leader Dani was always on top of everything and was very knowledgeable about Zimbabwe and all the places we were going. A truly life changing experience and one I strongly recommend to any aspiring vet or lover of animals.
Amazing experience in every aspect from…
Amazing experience in every aspect from the pre departure to the planning of all activities, a vast array of species see and worked with!!!
SOS Wildlife, Kruger, Vet Vision
I recently took part in three volunteer programs with this organization – SOS Wildlife, Kruger Wildlife Project, and Vet Vision and I was truly blown away in the best possible way.
These are not only beautiful experiences because of the activities themselves, but also because of the people you meet along the way. Every single staff member I encountered was kind, dedicated, and incredibly supportive.
At SOS Wildlife, I got to experience real wildlife capture and darting practice, which was both thrilling and educational. Sven, his wife, the vet Ryan, and the whole team are welcoming, highly skilled, and always eager to teach. Their passion for wildlife and conservation is inspiring, and they made the experience unforgettable.
At Kruger, I created memories that will stay with me forever. Beryl, the coordinator, is lovely and made sure everything ran smoothly while always being approachable and warm.
And Vet Vision was truly valuable learning opportunity. Dani was extraordinary she not only gave us insight into the real world of veterinary medicine in Africa, but also welcomed us with open arms. She’s not only the host of the Vet Vision program but also a coordinator for WWV, and her support throughout the entire process, from booking to pre-departure and on-site was outstanding.
I’m incredibly grateful for everything I learned, the people I met, and the once in a lifetime moments I experienced. I highly recommend these programs to anyone passionate about animals
Vet visions was fantastic!
Firstly, Dani is amazing! She did an excellent job thoroughly, and thoughtfully planning out all of our experiences everyday. She was so welcoming, funny, and always had the team’s safety as a top priority. Dani needs a raise!
This project was truly one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I learned so much from so many intelligent, wonderful people. I interacted with so many animals, from cats and dogs, to livestock, to all sorts of wild animals. I learned a few vet skills along the way, and got to experience something fun, new and exciting everyday.
If you like to travel around often, this is the project for you!
Also, they are NOT messing around when they say it’s cold. Bring more warm clothes than you think you need! Being from Washington state, USA, I thought it couldn’t be THAT cold. But it is! Especially in the early mornings and evenings.
Fantastic time in Jambiani, Zanzibar!
WWV were brilliant at helping me to organise the trip and provided lots of information about the position. The practice in Jambiani in Zanzibar provided a fantastic experience where we spent the days neutering stray cats, vaccinating, home visits, treating wounds and inpatient care. The staff are super welcoming and supported us throughout the trip, and the accommodation was very comfortable.

Asian elephant vet clinic - maybe I was just unlucky
It didn't quite live up to my expectations. I went into the project with high expectations of having multiple opportunities being hands on. I did have a few, medical bath, checking temperature and vital signs. I do feel a bit unlucky though.
The experience:
The vet had been very sick just a day before so she didn't really speak with us until day 3. First two days I was mostly dumped on the vet student doing a project there. He was nice and helpful though.
On day two the other volunteer had been food poisoned so there was just me at the clinic. Barely anything to do. No one really explain anything and I felt a bit lost. After lunch the staff did take us to a wild life rescue for a few hours which was really cool.
On day three we finally had our introduction to elephant care and diseases. We learned how to check vital signs and helped prepare medicine. It was around this time the vet started actually talking to us.
On day four and five we bathed one of the elephants, did rectal and took temperature along with medicine prep. We finally got into it and I really enjoyed the last two days. They even let me stay one more night to take an early bus the next morning.
Its just a shame that I paid for 5 days but it felt like I only had 2 maybe 3 days of what was actually promised through the project website. I don't know if maybe I was just unlucky.
The accommodation/facility:
In theory its good but there are both ants, mosquitos and geckos which is able to get into your room. I had all three. There is a bathroom down the stairs by the rooms but its not very nice at all. I always walked to the main house for shower etc. but even there i couldn't avoid the geckos and ants. The food is really good though.
Tips if you're going:
BUG SPRAY
Almost everyone had flip flops but you get ant bites if you don't have fully covered shoes.
I also didn't use the hiking boots they want you to bring.
Explore the city after 5, there are cool food markets.
Don't take a suitcase (like I did) if you're planning to travel Thailand after.

WWV & African Vet Conservation Volunteer Program
WWV has been so useful and accomadating to questions and concerns regarding any type of trip/program. They are very organized and thorough with information that you need to know prior. I recently got back from doing the African Vet Conservation Volunteer Program and it was 10/10, I would 100% recommend for anyone to do it. The people were amazing and the 3-week experience will stick with me for the rest of my life.
