Terrible, absolutely terrible. I'll admit, I've been doing the subscription since I think '21 in hopes that my ADHD would allow me to write and get back into building the world I had started ages ago and wanted a website for to better share it with the person I was building it for.

However, I just got a bill for 110 bucks. Double what was charged last time because, apparently, discounts only apply once despite the fact the the sub is auto-renew. Feel like if you get a discount it should stay applied for as long as you keep the sub on auto-renew, it's really only fair. I know other businesses do the same, for example, Jagex has done discounts for subscriptions over the years and in theirs as long as your sub stays active you continue to get the discount. It's quite nice.

What really gets my goat is the fact that there's zero warning of an impending renewal. Despite my best efforts I never even really got around to *using* the website last year, I don't think I added anything to my project at all last year, in fact! Though if I did it was, at latest, just a couple of days around the time of renewal.

So this basically means I get charged a year's subscription for a product I didn't, haven't been, and likely won't be using all because the owners are terrible people and enjoy scamming others and then hide behind their claim that there isn't a law that requires them to give refunds or inform people of massive impending charges.

I'm not even going to bother trying to contact them for a refund, I've seen how they talk to customers on their website that just want to pitch ideas in their section of the site dedicated to doing such, I don't need the crass harassment I've seen other people who wanted a refund receive. I cancelled my subscription properly this time, though not really because I want to, just because it's obvious my brain will never let me get back into doing this thing I love. Still, I've seen people that have had issues with the cancellation, so I'm hoping they don't charge me again next year. At least I have the e-mail saying I cancelled and I'm keeping it safe.

Overall, while the concept is great and the tools work decently, the people actually behind the website are pretty terrible. I'd suggest looking elsewhere if you're in the market for something like this. I have to admit, I really wasn't ready for a 110 dollar charge. I wish I could get a refund but they hide behind their policy of customer disservice so providing yet another warning about these people and the way they bill for this service is all I can do for the moment. Their practices are pretty scummy and I have a funny feeling they aren't being at all honest about not being required to offer refunds or reminders.

As a multi-media publisher creating an original fantasy world, we really needed a central resource for our team of artists, writers, and game designers. World Anvil has been the perfect solution for us and I'm so happy we found it. Its features are easy-to-use and allow for a ton of flexibility and creativity (especially the interactive maps!). We're able to publish information and artwork publicly for the world to see, while also keeping spoilers and secret tidbits hidden and only visible to us. The World Anvil team has also been super helpful whenever we have questions or issues and they are constantly rolling out new features and have a super active discord community.

I love the tool so i wanted to upgrade to sage level but it didn't work. My request was answered within the shortest time I ever expereinced on a support case of a digital product. Awesome work from Ioanna!

A must-have resource for world building to create cities, settlements and geographic regions with in depth maps.

Superb website. I use it daily and I have gotten much more than my money's worth, even if this is just a hobby. Customer service is excellent; those that I emailed were friendly and approachable and my issues were resolved.

While I haven't had an issue with it as of yet, I feel that reminders of upcoming payments should be given, as this could be incredibly problematic for some.

I'm new to writing for tabletop games, and the prospect of it can be overly daunting, particularly when creating a world from scratch. The resources, abilities, and layout of World Anvil has made it much easier to start, plot, plan, and write my RPG/Novel world. It's also set up in such a way that I can share it with my friends and followers when it's done and we're ready to play - without hassle. Whether you're new or seasoned, this platform is by far one of the best resources out there.

The tools are easy to use, navigate, and understand. Even if they weren't, the tutorials have you covered. Support staff was prompt and kind.

This is an all inclusive website for story tellers, game masters and writers. This is exactly as advertised. This website has made my dream world that I created a vessel to leave my head. I can now share what I have created over the last few years. The interface mostly good with easy to understand controls. I like most things about it, especially the organization of your articles. Its like I created a wiki for my homebrew and I love it.

World Anvil has a support community that is unparalleled in today's online world. I contacted support to receive a clarification about a timeline feature and found that an update was already in process that easily allowed me to continue working. Whether it's Discord or fast replies from the customer support, they've got you covered!

Disgusting. Automatically ‘renewed’ at double the price for something I’ve not found a use for. Didn’t even set up an account until I clicked on the invoice, so can’t see how anyone could cancel this. Autorenewals should be illegal. Avoid giving payment details at all costs.

For world builders, World Anvil is amazing. The only problem is my lack of time. You can upload maps, create stories and timelines… and even cross multiple timelines. What an incredible tool to organize and deepen a story world! I wish I had time to truly develop my world using these tools and give my readers another way to immerse themselves in my worlds.

Pretty good functionality, but less than great formatting. Yearly memberships renew with no warning, and customer service refuses to offer refund even same day of renewal

WorldAnvil is a great resource for me as a DM to create my worlds and campaigns and keep track of everything! I love the ability to have characters/NPCs in multiple campaigns and being able to attach a character sheet is great. Their customer support is also fantastic!

Liana and Dimitris have created an amazing resource with World Anvil and are still giving it the small business personal touch and care. They went out of their way to help me correct a billing issue that I had created, and not only made it right, they went above and beyond. They care about World Anvil and are constantly improving, but more importantly they care about the community. In this day and age, we don't see that as often as we should. I am truly impressed. They have a customer for life.
