Wolfburn is a multi-award-winning whisky distillery on the north coast of mainland Scotland. Building work commenced in the summer of 2012 and Wolfburn was reopened after some 150 years in early 2013. In 1821 William Smith founded a distillery on the outskirts of Thurso and named it Wolfburn after the watercourse it drew from, “burn” being the Scots word for stream or small river. The distillery was constructed from hardy local Caithness flagstone and the remains of its foundations can still be seen today. Smith invested heavily in Wolfburn and it quickly became a significant producer of malt whisky – tax records from the early 19th Century show it being the largest distillery in Caithness. In 1826 its annual production was 28,056 “Total Gallons of Proof Spirt” – roughly 125,000 litres. The new Wolfburn distillery building is just a short walk along the burn from the old site towards the sea. A mixture of ex-bourbon casks and ex-Olorosso sherry butts have been used so far in the maturation of this aromatic, mildly smokey delicious Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Our master craftsmen fashion their whisky the same way it has always been made: by hand, using only the finest ingredients, and without haste. Now available worldwide in over 38 countries.

It was only a purchase of distillery…
It was only a purchase of distillery tour tickets, but it was rather unnerving to a point. Seems like the Wolfburn website has been developed beyond reason (the video presentation, the very homepage massively overloaded with stuff) and the server it is based on seems to be located somewhere in Inner Mongolia. The result is getting to the distillery tour section is a feat not easily accomplished, especially when your own internet access is rather poor. I have recently purchased tickets for literally dozens of distilleries all over Scotland, and Wolfburn was the only one that gave me a headache. Simplify that, please. I'll be returning next year.

Excellent buying experience!
I had a very efficient service whilst ordering from Wolfburn.
The eta for delivery was 2-4 days which was accomplished in 3 days despite really bad snow in Scotland.
My whisky was delivered in super strong boxes which protected the bottles from damage.
I had an excellent purchasing experience and will be buying from Wolfburn again very soon.

Christmas present for my wife
Christmas present for my wife, she absolutely loves it, according to Belinda, best she's had, so smooth.
So looks like I'll be shopping again soon
Email and delivery Spot on.
If anything I would like to see it recorded and signed for as it is an expensive bottle just to leave on the door step.

Happy Christmas
The bottles of whisky were delivered very swiftly and well packaged. The whisky itself is superb and perfect as a Chritmas dram. Thanks very much Wolfburn!
