Our family of five completed the Annapurna Base Camp trek in March, and I can honestly say it was one of the most meaningful and life-changing experiences we have ever had.

From the very beginning, Pradip and the team were incredible. Before booking, Pradip patiently answered every question we had and tailored the trip specifically to our family. What really stood out was that after we booked, communication didn’t stop. Over the following months, he regularly checked in on us, kept us excited for the trip, and made us feel genuinely cared about long before we arrived in Nepal.

The airport pickup alone exceeded every expectation. We assumed someone would simply meet us with a sign and help us get a taxi, but instead Pradip personally greeted us at almost 1 AM with ceremonial scarves and a warm welcome to Kathmandu. It was such a thoughtful and memorable touch that immediately set the tone for the trip.

Communication throughout the entire process was excellent. Using WhatsApp made everything simple and easy, and from pre-booking to post-travel there was always fast, clear, and consistent communication.

Our guide, Garap, was absolutely incredible. He was knowledgeable, professional, encouraging, and took amazing care of our family throughout the trek. Traveling with three kids (ages 10, 12, and 18) on a trek like this could have been intimidating, but Garap constantly watched out for our wellbeing and adjusted the pace perfectly depending on how everyone was feeling. During the steep climb to Deurali especially, he paced the hike perfectly to keep everyone comfortable and motivated.

I have been on many guided tours over the years, and this was hands down the best group of guides and porters we have ever had. The porters carried gear through rain, difficult terrain, and endless stairs, and somehow never stopped smiling. Their positivity and work ethic were unbelievable.

The team did an amazing job tailoring each day’s hiking plan based on how we were doing physically. Safety always came first, and they constantly adjusted pacing and plans to make sure the trip stayed enjoyable.

One of the best examples of this was when altitude sickness became an issue. The team made the smart decision to adjust our plans and stay at Machapuchare Base Camp instead of Annapurna Base Camp that night. It ended up being one of the best decisions of the entire trek because it allowed us to do an unforgettable pre-dawn hike through the valley into ABC before sunrise. That hike, under a sky full of stars and moonlight with the mountains slowly appearing around us, became one of the most incredible experiences of my life.

The tea houses were all very good. While they are not directly associated with the trekking company, the team clearly knew the best places to stay. Every stop had something unique about it — rooftop sunrise decks, beautiful natural viewpoints, or peaceful tea spots overlooking valleys and rivers below. The food was consistently great, and the rooms were much better than we expected.

As for weather, set realistic expectations. This is Nepal and the Annapurna region — the weather can be sunny, rainy, foggy, and beautiful all within the same day. Just prepare properly and embrace the experience.

For anyone wondering about difficulty: if you prepare properly, almost anyone can do this trek. Get your exercise in beforehand and spend time walking and climbing stairs. Our family completed it with three daughters ages 10, 12, and 18.

There are honestly too many favorite moments to count: the sound of rain falling softly on my poncho while hiking, the roar of rivers beneath suspension bridges, endless stone staircases lined with prayer flags leading into tiny villages, and of course the sunrise at Annapurna Base Camp itself.

Beyond the mountains, one of the best parts was meeting people from all over the world along the trail. We had an amazing group and loved spending time with both our guides and porters throughout the trek.

I constantly recommend this experience to people now. For less money than many families spend on groceries over a couple of weeks, you can have a truly life-changing adventure that brings your family closer together and gives you a much deeper appreciation for the natural world.

This trip genuinely changed me as a person, and I already cannot wait to return to Nepal for Everest Base Camp with Pradip, Garap, and the crew.

I did the Langtang trek in April, and I was solo. The guide was so friendly, he never let me feel I was travelling solo. And his team was also great. The hotel and the food were so good, even in that area. And the view was even better. Thanks to the team, I had great memories.
