Please be ware! These people are frauds. They'll take all your banking information, all your personal ID, pretend to start doing business and then as soon as a client makes a payment, the funds will be returned and you'll be notified that "your account status has changed". No longer will they allow you to receive online payments, for which you likely created the account in the first place, and then refer you to section "G" in their policy to which you agreed upon creating the account. Pure and utter frauds. God knows where my personal information is going to end up. Please be ware.
Worst experience I ever had in my financial life
I spent more than a month with this company making my accounting but they decided I am not a legit business and requested more documents than my bank account even when I have over 5 years as an independent freelancer in Upwork and I have been assisting to conferences and expos to get more clients. This platform is not for entrepreneurs or new companies.
SCAM Artist
I recently began using Wave App to become a service to help me manage my small business. That way I could have a service that sends professional invoices for my services provided but also allows my clients and easy way to pay for those services for a small fee. It was going to be great for me to have something like this to keep track and revenue/expenses and would help me with taxes at the end of the year. I was told about wave apps through friends and thought wow this is great. I love the way the application looked and functioned. It had a great phone based app that sent me notifications with payment. Not to mention my invoices looked great and professional to send!
I sent my first invoice for $500 to a client and they paid quickly through their bank account. I was excited to collect the money so easily! Once I got the first payment I was told I had to apply for a “payment application” to process payment through them. Mind you they had already received my client's payment at this time. I filled out the application as asked, filling out simple questions about what my business was, what I offered, etc. That is where it all began to go sideways. I was denied being allowed to collect money because I was seen as a “Risk” to Wave Finical.
I had to reach out via bot messenger several times until they felt it was needed for a phone call. I was told, “they don’t do phone calls with customers”. I was able to talk with Kiara, who literally never explained anything other than I was a risk because this was the first time I had tried to collect money. She told me that if I had a client who needed a refund I could be seen as a risk since I didn’t have a history of collecting. I explained I was new to beginning my business for media services and was trying to use Wave to begin collecting. The conversation ended with the decision being final and I was denied. I asked her what would happen if my company began to grow and I was doing a large amount of revenue, and she told me I would have to apply again under a NEW company name. WHAT?! This place is a joke and is not here to help small businesses. Their services look flashy and great if all you want to do is create invoices to email and have someone send you a check. Know if you use them, they will not be helpful. I was told by Kiara I needed to call my client and tell them to call their bank and ask for a refund. That will make me look wonderful.
I will not recommend them to anyone. It is absolutely ridiculous they allowed me to bill my client and then go “Oh, by the way, your application doesn't work so you can’t collect”. Why allow me to bill a client? Why not do that first?! Not to mention they are holding my payment for 65 days unless I call my client to have them contact their bank to process a refund sooner. At which I’m sure they will be charged a fee I have to cover. This company is far from anything that supports small business ventures. Frankly it feels like I’ve been discriminated against for being new to trying and run my own business. Hard pass using them for anything every again and will do my best to make sure other know what they are getting into before considering Wave.
Scary Scam
Everything about this company is a scam. It's SUPER user friendly until they start holding your client's payments and there's no way to contact them except through long waiting emails and chatbots. I dare you to look them up on the BBB. Just truly horrible people. They will give you a bad name with your customers.
I was told about wave apps through…
I was told about wave apps through friends and thought wow this is great. I love the way the application looked and functioned. My invoices looked great but once I started to bill folks and try and process payment through them they took the payment and I get an email a day or so later that they can no longer offer me the option to receive payments. They refunded my customer minus the fee they took to process. I will not recommend them to anyone. It is absolutely unethical to take processing fee my client paid. The only entity that won in this case is them they got the fee. I didn’t get paid and can no longer except payment through them and my client lost money and I have to invoice them again.
This company is a scam
Stay Away. They let you put all your banking info in, take payments and they claw back the payments after the customers send them. I think they are probably just collecting and selling your banking data. Doesn't seem like a legit company based on reviews.
They stopped my payments
They stopped my payments. Wave Said they refunded a customers credit card that never arrived. Still waiting 2 weeks later. Now I can't get paid.
Waveapp took $16000 and then would only refund in 65days
They took a $16000 payment from my customer, neither me nor my Customer knew as they added the pay now button which went through them for a fee… then after 12 days of not getting the money in my bank account they say no hey are refunding, and it will take 65 days. Absolutely appalling! I’ve never seen anything this crazy from a company that’s suppose to be worth $80billion. Avoid these jokers!!!
Stay away
I have the same problem as other reviewers. They withheld a credit card payment from a client and would not respond to my emails or explain what was happening. There is no way to talk to someone for support. Stay away from this company.
Terrible service, do not use!
Terrible service. They automatically refunded 3-4 of my clients without informing me. There is no way to speak to someone. The only way is to constantly email them and ask for someone to call. After a few months they refunded 2 transactions of a client again. I am done with them.

Customer paid an invoice, a week later it was accidentally reported as fraudulent. Customer called his bank and took care of right away.
Wave locked my account, refused to issue further payments (Near impossible to contact). Then I revive an email saying I am no longer allowed to use their payment processor “effective immediately, decisions are final” with ZERO reasons.
All because a customer made a mistake.

Worst financial platform on the planet
I've been a user of Wave for over 5 years. It's been decent in the past for basic transactions but as soon as I needed to do anything unique as my business grew, their platform started to show it's limitations. That in itself is fine, it's not made to be a scalable platform. However, their customer service is an absolute joke. They refunded one of my customers twice, admitted their mistake, and then asked me to ask my customer for it back instead of making it right. Laughable. There is no phone number to contact them, their live chat is awful, and their email response takes days and is not helpful at all. Worst provider out there, hands down. Use Stripe, use PayPal, use literally anything else.
Junk platform
Junk platform, I had issues receiving my money when I used there online payment platform and the amount of time I’ve spent writing out invoices only for the page to crash and invoice lost needing to be re written.
Endless hours wasted re writing invoices and chasing money that hasn’t been transferred because I haven’t ticked a box or confirmed who I am as a person regardless of the fact I’ve received payments before.
Don’t be cheap, use a paid well known platform with good reviews.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service! Beware when using this platform, they are endorsed by many scammers and will rule in favor of them if your funds ever get frozen! I repeat, DO NOT USE WAVE PAYMENTS! The customer support and risk team offer awful support and they will keep your funds and ruin your businesses cash flow! STAY AWAY!
Software glitch now I have to pay 300+ for an accounting coach? NO WAY!
I started my private practice (mental health counseling) on a shoe string. Wave's free accounting and bookkeeping was a very attractive option and I could see myself growing and upgrading to a paid version. However, last month the software prompted me to put in my password and the app re-downloaded my transactions and added my personal accounts into my business accounts, it's just a mess. I can't use it. Now the only option to get help to fix this issue is to hire an accounting coach for $329 for a max of 2 hour phone call to fix a software issue that the software created. I don't need an accounting coach, I'm fine with the principles of accounting. I need tech support. The rep I spoke to was not allowed to help me and directed me to the website to search for solutions on my own because I was not a paying customer. Honestly the refusal to help a customer using the free version made me like crap. Not to mention the forced charge of over $300 to get any real help, huge resentment. Good job wave, your business model is helping Quickbooks stay number 1 in the market!
HORRIBLE SERVICE, COMPANY AND CS TEAM
I started using Waveapps in April to utilize their invoicing feature aswell as accepting payments. I used their software to send one invoice, and once the cusomter paid, the money was depositied in my account. A couple of weeks later, I sent out another invoice using their site, however this time, Waveapps canceled my invoice, returned the funds to my customer AND THEN, I received an email from Emma from the risk team stating that she cancelled the payment and refunded my customer. I was not given any notice regarding this, once it was done, they emailed me. I have tried asking them why my payment was cancelled and why I cannot use their invoicing system anymore. This company has terrible service and an even worst customer service team.
I DO NOT EVER RECOMMEND..

I had been using waves apps for almost a year and for the most part everything was great up to this last week where I picked up the biggest side job I've ever done my customer deposited $11,500 on Friday money was supposed to be made available on Monday I received the email on Tuesday advising me that they need further documentation for me as in a estimate contact information for the person I was providing the service for and so on which I did I then received an email on Wednesday and letting me know that I can no longer use credit cards on my wave app account now I'm potentially going to lose this job and the 29 others I was supposed to receive from the same building don't waste your time there customer service is non-existent they're horrible at communicating and just plain out rude. If the option was to give them no stars I would

You'd be better off collecting cash payments for your online business as with wave you may never see your funds again. Their support is completely unhelpful and blames everything on their 'risk' team, giving no visibility into the issue. Almost certain that this business is a scam and I urge anyone reading this to explore any and all other options for online payment solutions before working with Wave.
