This company acts as a go between with local councils and subcontractors to get ECO work.I had a leaflet drop from a firm called Impact Energy who I found out later were working on behalf of Warm Homes Britain.
The company had visited and completed a site visit in early 2025. In mid October I get a phone call to say Impact are coming in four days time.Impact did a poor job on my property and when I spoke with my local council I was told to speak with Warm Homes as they were the approved agents.
I phoned them and told I needed to speak with Dave who was the complaints manager. He was not available but would phone me back, he did not. I phoned again and spoke to a Dave who took my details and said he would phone back, he did not. I emailed him and explained that according to the council they were the approved agents and therefor responsible for any problems. Now they will not answer emails. If I phone they just hang up on me.
The council are looking to see if they are fit to be on the approved list. Keep clear of them.

I thought it was too good to be true

Very pleased with my experience with Warm Homes Britain. I live in a rural area in Ceredigion and my house was so inefficient it was costing me a fortune! Thanks to them I had my insulation updated, changed my old LPG tank to a new Air Source Pump and had some solar panels put on my roof. Their customer service was second to none and couldn't recommend them enough. David in their admin team helped me through every step from initial survey to install.

Top notch work

Just wanted to leave a quick review for Warm Homes Britain. They did my loft insulation recently and I’m dead pleased with it. The whole process was dead professional from the start they came out and did all the proper surveys and kept me updated with what was going on.

The lads who did the actual job were spot on. They were really tidy, got it done fast, and didn't leave a speck of mess behind when they were finished. You don't often see a crew take that much pride in keeping a place clean. If you're looking to get work done, I’d definitely recommend them.

this company calls itself 'warm homes…

this company calls itself 'warm homes Britain' and stamps its correspondence with 'rural advice England.' So it is trying to look official. It uses terms like 'urgent' and you do 'not have valid EPC,' therefore implying that one is needed. Since an EPC is only required when selling a property this is misleading. It goes on to suggest that homes are inefficient without knowing anything about the home itself. Interestingly letters are addressed to 'resident.' They then press the resident to act 'fast.' And no one has put their name to the document....these seem like a lot of red flags to me?

Company uses scaremongering tactics in their marketing

I haven’t even had any work done by this company but I am already pretty annoyed with them.
Firstly I live in Flintshire North Wales. I received a letter from Warm Homes Britain in conjunction with Rural Advice Wales addressed to “Denbighshire Resident” and which goes on and on about my home being in the Denbighshire local authority area. My first thought is that if they can’t be bothered to get the basics right, why would I trust them to get anything else right!
The header for the letter is: URGENT: YOUR HOME DOES NOT HAVE A VALID ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATE (EPC). Well no, it doesn’t, but as I am not looking to sell or rent it out, it doesn’t need one. It seems they’re just using scare tactics to get people to sign up with them.
If that’s their marketing method then sorry, I wouldn’t have anything to do with them at all.

Sormwatch's review hits the nail on the head. Scare tactics and misleading information.

"Hi Geoff, we are disappointed that you felt scared or misled. Can you expand on what you felt was misleading so we can do better in the future?"
I quote form your letter:
Urgent: your home does not have a valid energy performance certificate." There is nothing urgent about it. My home doesn't need one until I decide to sell it. It doesn't need a valid home report either. The whole tone of the letter implies that it is an official survey; it is not. They are simply trying to sell you heating and insulation.
"Your property has been identified as potentially inefficient as it doesn't have a valid home report." Of course it doesn't, it doesn't need one; I happen to have had all these home upgrades from another company so if I ever come to sell then I will need a home report.

Disingenuous correspondence

I received a letter from these people today. Starts with 'URGENT: YOUR HOMES DOES NOT HAVE A VALID ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATE'.
So bloody what? It doesn't NEED an EPC. Pretty clear the intent is to scare vulnerable people into getting one via these guys.

But it looks official - after all, it's marked with 'Rural Advice Scotland', as if that's a legitimate independent organisation.

And yet, strangely, the staff of Rural Advice Scotland are pretty much identical to the staff of Warm Homes Britain Ltd. So, not so independent after all.

Companies House accounts for this tinpot company show very little revenue. The sole director has had several other companies that have dissolved within 2-5 years.

Would not trust any company that presents me with such a disingenuous letter or with such a concerning background.

[Edit in response to the reply: No, the letter may not specifically say we *need* a certificate, but writing 'URGENT' implies that something needs to be addressed in the immediate future. THAT is disingenuous.
You ask so 'that we can do better in future'? Rubbish - you already know what you are doing.]

Hi Stormwatch, Thanks for the review. The company has a 6 year trading history and has small revenues as this is not the fulocus of the business. The letter does not say an EPC is required. Can you explain what you feel is disingenuous so we can do better in future? Thank you.
