We brought a Spa 2 years ago.
Delivery was on time, the delivery guy was the most helpful guy I've ever met he handled everything including the filling (4 hours later...) and ran me through the basic procedures, giving me a copy of the manual as well.
I change the water and clean the filters every 2-3 months, and adjust the PH or chemicals once every 4 weeks. We leave it at our preferred heat of 40 degrees 24/7 without any problems.
It's running as good as it was when it was new. Spa and cover still look new. Water jets are awesome, and I use a water clearing agent that keeps it crystal clear.
Cost-wise: The month we empty and re-fill with water adds $10 to that months' water bill. Electricity is $10/week more to keep it at high temp, I'm sure they recommend lowering the temp after use but takes 2-3hrs to bring back up and we just want to hop in anytime without planning ahead.
Chemicals don't cost much and the filters are cleanable too but once a year I replace one for about $90.
It does cost $350 - $500 for a registered electrician to install an outside 25-AMP power source.

Best investment for relieving stress after a hard days work, after a weekend evening BBQ, ever!

Looked at a lot of spas before deciding on a vortex retreat. One phone call to their friendly 0800 number, met Paddy and was sold on the retreat first time I saw it. Opted for the delivery charge, which is the best thing I ever did. Their technician Jack was fantastic, he put the spa exactly where I wanted it and showed me many of the cool features. Only regret is I should have got the sound system.

These spas are built in China and Vortex does not have the ability to pull them apart and find what is wrong with them if something does go wrong. They have service agents that they contract out to. So if something goes wrong you have a middle man that you have to deal with. And in our case, the middle man say's one thing and vortex say's something else. If buying a spa I recommend you buy one that is built here in New Zealand and they have the ability to service the spa themselves.

Right from the day we purchased this mammoth spa it has given us grief. Stereo didn't work, months of playing around and it is still not working right 2 years later. Other functions haven't worked from the start either. There have been so many issues over the time that we have owned this that I have actually given up contacting the manufacturer because it takes up so much of my time. I would not recommend Vortex spas ever!!

The sales person was very informative and good to deal with. The installation went smoothly but there has been no after service at all. If you don't mind that then I would recommend Vortex as the spa is awesome.
