Ladies clothing line not desirable

I’ve been to the Von Maur three times In Rochester, MI since they have open and the service is definitely excellent. I’ve been disappointed each time with their clothing line and selection of clothing. The clothing line looks like they are catering to very old women, I’m mid 50s with an impressive career and I wish they would find a new ladies clothing buyer. I would love to see a store make it in that location but at this point I give them two to three years maximum.

Today I needed a lipstick and visited…

Today I needed a lipstick and visited Von Maur in Glenview, IL.
Luisa helped me find the right color. Finally I found the right lip brush, too.
The little bottles of perfume for my granddaughters will be a wonderful Valentines present.

I shop the Yorktown store in Lombard…

I shop the Yorktown store in Lombard Illinois. I LOVE Von Maur. They're plus size department has the most beautiful clothes. You won't see your outfit on every other person in the room. I consistently get compliments on what I wear. I've always found their salespeople to be pleasant and helpful. The complimentary wrapping is a real plus.

MJ at the makeup counter was…

MJ at the makeup counter was Fantastic!!!! I bought Estee Lauder skin cream and If you spend $50, you get a free bag with samples of Estée Lauder’s products!! I can’t wait til I get mine!! MJ was so helpful and knowledgeable!! I’m March they are running another promotion. I will definitely be back!!!!

This store is the absolutely worst…

This store is the absolutely worst customer service they have high prices I went in on January 31st at 4:00 p.m. I found a shirt I wanted to try on and the Man in the mens department discouraged me from trying it on he said haven't you ever tried on a Calvin Klein shirt before because it might not fit you I said I have not and he said well every time that I try them on they don't fit me and I have to get them altered I wouldn't recommend that you try on I've never been told that ever the shirt was $55.

Rude manager and service

I bought two dresses for a new years party. My husband wanted me to return one unless it went on sake. It had. So I went to the register in dresses with the dress in a bag and the receipt. I was a few days outside the price adjustment period mainly due to the cold weather before Christmas. The lady was the manager of womens...very rude. I told her my husband told me I could keep the second dress if it was on sale. She woukd return it, but not let me rebuy it. She was really rude in her tone and attitude. I found out later that she is the store manager. She wS like I will not let you rebuy the dress since you were the one to return it. I explained to her that somebody is going to buy it at that price what difference does it make. She's like at least it won't be you. I buy a lot at that store...not anymore. I've never had someone be that rude to me. I used to be in retail. As long as someone had their receipt and the item with the tag on it, we were always told to return it no problem, and if someone wanted to rebuy it...let them. Rude customer service will not help your new Jordan Creek store. Dillard's is in the mall too, and they are polite.

Surprisingly disappointed!

Surprisingly, I did not receive excellent customer service today. Normally, the service is top notch. Today, I went in to return a cocktail dress I ordered online and needed a replacement. The clerk processed my return and when I told her I needed another dress, she responded, “Happy dress hunting.” I found my own dress and proceeded to the shoe department where a lovely woman named Susan provided excellent service. I then went to look for a matching purse. Finding no one in the department, I left without the purse. One of the reasons I love Von Maur is the usual superb service.

Overland Park Von Maur experience

I have made many purchases at the Overland Park, KS store over several years. While there are a lot of high end items over my budget, I have found some wonderful one of a kind things and great sales. No matter what, I have only experienced the best customer service of any store I have ever shopped in, regardless of what I bought or if I didn't buy anything. There is plenty of room to wander and shop, everything is meticulously organized, the store is sparkling clean, I never feel rushed, everyone I come in contact with is friendly and helpful and I would recommend this store to anyone. Regardless if I come in dressed up or in jeans and a T-shirt, I am treated the same. My husband loves to come and listen to the piano player while I shop. I always leave feeling relaxed and so glad I came. Being an American company, they also carry many brands made in the USA! I want to support the "made in USA" whenever possible. Thank you Von Maur!!!

I do not recommend trying in clothes in changing room! I was changing at the Greenwood location and a make manager walked in on me while I was undressed. No locks on doors and they do not follow any protocol they may have for a male employee entering into woman’s area because this would not have happened if they did! Very unhappy with their practices and procedure while I was in the changing room! Less than one star recommended for them!!!!

Refund is slower than molasses.....

I ordered a sports coat online which arrived in five days. It did not fit so I returned the coat. The company received the coat via UPS 2 days after I dropped it off. The refund has not shown up on my credit card, though it is now 12 days past when they received the coat on their docks. I called customer service and was told refunds are taking 3-4 weeks. It didn't take that long for them to take the money -- why does it take so long to get it back? As soon as they record they have the jacket they could link up to their billing system and reverse the charge. I guess they like to sit on the money.

My husband bought me Chanel Noir for…

My husband bought me Chanel Noir for Christmas when it was decent price at bon Maur store . I didn’t like the smell so I returned it. I always used Lancôme La Bella for years ,but Von Maur pulled out that store . Too bad . I had to find any other parfume in Von Maur now because I had a gift car $146. I kept buying and trying for few days 3 other parfumés . So the last one I came to return with receipt and everything… the service lady were very rude . She told me not do it it anymore and next time they won’t give me a return . I had 2 little kids with me … I couldn’t talk to her the way i would alone. She asked me why and why I returning their parfume?… I told her because they suck after few hours I try them on . No , I was polite to her . I’m sure she doesn’t tell her buddies who steal stuff from their store and walk out with it . She said she has to throw out after parfume been returned… I’m sure her bedroom is full of gently one spray used parfume !!! Maybe next time offer a sample of Chanel first . Yes, I still want to return my Coatch floral parfume … but I dare to see her face

I shopped at the Orland Park store…

I shopped at the Orland Park store early. There were few salespersons available to assist. The gift wrapper claimed that I would receive a text message when my package was ready. After watching her wrap 3 packages for another customer and chatted with a co-worker, she finally told me that my package was ready a while ago. She smirked while claiming that text messages didn’t always go through in the building. If this were true, then why use them? I believe that she was being dishonest. This was my 1st time shopping there and perhaps the last time.

Fabulous shopping experience at Von Maur

fabulous shopping experience at Von Maur. I love to shop. But rather than go online where I can’t have the full shopping experience and be able to touch and Try what I buy I’ve always preferred to go to a department store. These days there’s not many department stores that give you the whole experience. When my sisters and I had a shopping day at Von Maur department store in Grand Rapids it reminded us of the days gone by when we would shop with our mother. We received one on one personal assistance, the store was conveniently arranged and beautifully laid out. The restrooms were spa like and clean. We had a wonderful day shopping at Von Maur.!!!

Horrible employee attitude

I went with my daughter to the Hoover, Alabama store to get some dresses for her, the employee there had a really bad attitude towards us, she was nice and asking if they needed help to everyone else but us. She never asked us, was looking at us like why we were even there,totally rude when asked for the dressing room, then she went and open my daughter's dressing room knowing she was there, didn't even apologized for it and was totally rude and condescending when we paid for her clothes; for what I saw she had a problem with us been Hispanic, been the only ones there receiving that treatment.

Shopped in Von Maur for the past 20…

Shopped in Von Maur for the past 20 years, I don't know what happened after Covid to the store but I smell bankruptcy coming. The customer service on the phone used to be so nice, today I called to have a price adjustment and experience the nastiest attitude from the person on the other line towards me, just couldn't believe I spoke to Von Maur and not Walmart. After that call I packed everything I just bought there and sent it back, will no longer give the store business who treats customers like that. Also did not like the change they made in their return policy, I will never buy anything online without trying it on that is a final sale, it's just ridiculous. You lost a loyal customer, any store that did that kind of changes never survived much longer, just piano won't save the business, welcome Nordstrom now on!

Von Maur ships via UPS Sure Post

Von Maur ships via UPS Sure Post. Cheap. No matter how pricey the item, they do NOT put it in a box. It goes in an envelope. UPS turns it over to the U S Postal Service for delivery with all the Post Office issues - "Out for Delivery" 6 days ago and still NOT DELIVERED. Order from another store who doesn't use the CHEAPEST shipping method.

Really Von Maur?

I’ve been a loyal customer for 20 years! In 2019/2020 this “family owned” department store has changed for the worst! What has made me a loyal customer all these years is GONE! I even moved to California and continued my loyalty to the midwestern store until the following occurred:
First, they changed the minimum amount you must spend to receive free gift wrapping (from $0 to $10) AND changed the types of wrapping offered (from a noteworthy array of amazing options to THREE- white, blue, or red).
Secondly, in August of 2020, they changed their return policy. You may no longer return or exchange items that are more than 50% off!!! What the heck?!
Third, as of November 2, 2020, customers who want to purchase sale items online MUST PICK UP AT A STORE! Some customers can’t or won’t purchase a $100 pair of jeans until they’re marked down to $50 or $25 and that is COMPLETELY normal! I mean, really Von Maur? During the pandemic you insist we all show up in person? And for those of us that don’t live near a store with inventory...Shall we fly to the Midwest to get a good deal? I mean, we could always You call one of the 40+ stores and have them check inventory, purchase items, and get them shipped as I was advised today, but really Von Maur?! And not one single Von Maur employee has the ability to search available inventory?! Is this the Stone Age?! Are you really telling me that you expect your customers to call 40+ stores to purchase items for shipping simply because they are on sale?!
You know what? Have your store! I’ll shop at Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdales, etc. from now on. And for the record, whoever you hired that has made these RIDICULOUS policy changes has most definitely ruined your reputation and caused lost sales! Good luck keeping your doors open!
