From my initial consultation to the actual surgery everything went amazingly well, multiple options were made available to me, I decided to opt for the TransPRK (with Schwind Amaris 1050RS-the finest surface ablation laser system in the world) to correct my severe myopia (excess of -8 diopters), considering my age the results of surgery went very well indeed, my near vision is still comfortably N5 despite my age (45), with both eyes combined I can see 20/20 which means good functional distance & excellent intermediate range vision, a very small amount of residual myopia has been left on my eyes which will continue to aid me with my close proximity vision for years to come, I can emphatically state that Dr Maurino is one of the finest eye surgeons in the world, you will certainly be in the best of hands & finally his entire team is also brilliant, in Mr Aneel Suri you will be dealing with an truly outstanding Optometrist.
NB: One last piece of advice, I highly recommend you not hesitate to undertake vision correction surgery, my only REGRET is why I did not see the amazing Dr Maurino many years earlier. Regards

Professional and Highly Recommended.
I was at risk of having a 2nd surgery after my cataract surgery because of another eye condition I have, but Dr Maurino managed the cataract procedure well and I don’t have to have the 2nd surgery any time soon. My after care was also managed very well. The staff were professional and courteous.

Having been extremely short-sighted all my life, always having to wear glasses and lenses, I developed cataracts in my early 50s. Life had become very difficult - I had stopped driving at night, and was switching between glasses and lenses up to 4 times a day. The cataract surgery with Mr Maurino has been totally life-changing. I only need reading glasses now and I am amazed at the quality of my eyesight. The surgery was extremely straightforward for me and recovery was phenomenally quick. When you have lived most of your life very out of focus without glasses, to be afforded such a gift now is miraculous! Mr Maurino performed two cataract operations - one was more complex than the other. He explained everything very clearly, what the issues were and all his staff and pre-op tests were very considerate and reassuring. The operations went well and I am delighted because for the first time in years I can play tennis without needing to wear glasses!

I am very happy with the service that I have received a month ago when I had to go through cataract surgery with Dr Maurino and his team. My vision now is completely improved and I can even see much better. I should have done this surgery since I discover that I had developed cataract on my left eye.

Absolutely wonderful experience from start the finish. I had been refused by many other places due to existing health conditions, but not only were they willing to work with me here at Moorfields, but I felt well taken care of and listened to throughout. Stellar experience.

I had femtolasik eye surgery in the spring of 2022 with Mr Maurino. I had a big myopia to fix in both eyes and was tired of contact lenses. I felt that Moorfields was surely the best of all venues to entrust with my eyes and I'm glad I did. The equipment they have there is very modern and accurate. The whole of Mr Maurino's team are very considerate and take the time to explain what they are looking for and in my case to discuss any concerns. I was, at times, very anxious about the procedure. I had a concern about my prescription before the surgery and was seen to double check my prescription with plenty of time before the surgery. Mr Maurino was clear with me on the potential outcomes of the surgery and talked me through everything clearly. After the surgery I had some dryness and was seen quickly when I was concerned. It took me about 4 months to feel normal again and during this time I was made to feel the open door policy at Moorfields. My results were perfect and I have 20/20 vision and in one eye slightly better than that. Now I have no discomfort and my eyesight is brilliant. I would highly recommend such an experienced surgeon as Mr Maurino alongside a first class team at Moorfields.

I had bilateral refractive lens exchange surgery with Mr Vincenzo Maurino. The whole experience, from the initial consultation to my post-op appointment, was informative, efficient and helpful and I felt extremely safe and knowledgeable in my decision making.
The surgery was first class and I had total confidence in Mr Maurino and his support staff. I cannot recommend him and Moorfields Eye Hospital enough.

I first had cataract surgery undertaken by Mr Maurino following retinal detachment in my left eye in 2015. At that time I was nervous about the operation, but was put at my ease by Mr Maurino with a thorough explanation of the procedure. He advised the best lens for me and I was very pleased with the outcome, which was successful. When I had a second retinal detachment this year in my right eye, and subsequently developed a cataract, I was keen for Mr Maurino to do the operation. He and his team offered a friendly, professional and efficient service and were always happy to answer any questions I had. The procedure was calmly undertaken at Moorfields Eye Hospital, a centre of excellence. I would wholeheartedly recommend Mr Maurino and his team.

I had LASIK in the late 90 and decided to check what options I had as my vision had deteriorated over the years.

Following my initial consultation with Mr Maurino he suggested a balanced approach that was the best option for me, we decided to proceed with laser Trans-PRK to one eye only. (Any other doctor may have recommended to go with 2 eyes as it would double the surgery income).

This balanced approach worked out very well for me and after 3 months I am extremely satisfied with Mr Maurino’s recommendation, surgery and most importantly the end result. His team is simply fantastic, they are all very professional, friendly and dedicated. I have recommended Mr Maurino to close friends and family without any hesitation.

The process from start to finish was smooth..I was nervous about surgery but Mr Maurinho was so confident and calm, it went well. At three month follow up, all was well and my vision is really sharp. I know many people say this, but i really do wish I'd done it sooner
