Veteris saved my dog's life - eternally thankful. (Shoreditch location in Hoxton Sq)
Sally my dog started getting very ill over the Bank Holiday weekend, with terrible diarrhoea that got worse and worse until there was just blood and sh1t running out of her, without her being able to stop it. She was lethargic and wobbly, wouldn't eat and I could see her slipping into a really serious condition. Although we visited another emergency vet and our usual one in Hackney, over the course of 3 days, as she refused all food and was losing so much liquid, she was deteriorating fast. My friend Kate and I took her to the Hoxton Veteris about 9pm on Wednesday night and they were brilliant from the first minute we came in. The vet, Thomas, was so reassuring and unfazed by Sally's state and that immediately helped me. I was worried about money and paying for it all and he worked out the most cost effective options. They admitted her immediately and got her on a drip, calling me the next morning to say how well she was doing and that I could visit her. I saw vet Emeline that morning and she too was so kind and knowledgeable. Although Sally was much better we agreed that she should stay in for the day just to really stabilise her, and I would collect her that night. They gave me updates through the day and, when I collected Sally, were genuinely happy to see her so much better. They took the time to recommend follow up care to keep her healthy and to make sure I understood all her medication.
I cannot praise them enough - every single person we dealt with was kind, knowledgeable, calm and reassuring. I would recommend them to any pet owner.
Sally is an 8 year old Romanian rescue who is very grumpy and scared of strangers. She's a big, strong dog at 23kg with some very firm boundaries, and the team worked around all of this and gave her such care and attention, taking her for little walks and offering her her favourite chicken and rice meals. I genuinely feel like they saved her life.
The final diagnosis was haemorrhagic gastroenteritis and it is the most ill I have ever seen any dog. Don't hesitate to bring your pet here for veterinary care.

My Ollie had a dental extraction operation on Thursday, by Saturday night/Sunday morning he was refusing to eat/drink/sleep & couldn't rest his head at all, & after Veteris (Ellie) gave him a couple of injections in the comfort of our own home, they didn't help at all, so on Bank Hol Mon morning it was recommended we go to the hospital. We were seen very quickly, & 2 stronger injections later Ollie finally licked me, so I knew he was returning to normal. Ollie's an incredibly anxious rescue (& bite risk) and how a vet handles him makes such a massive difference to his experience. Alfonso was just so absolutely outstandingly brilliant with him, his tail was wagging, & Ollie even ran off after him - this is unheard of!! I soo need this kind of approach in my regular vet practice, as it makes a world of difference, & he left a happy & stress free pooch - amazing!! Just wonderful compassion - thank you so very much!!

Sadly we were left with no option other than euthanasia for our elderly cat whose health had deteriorated dramatically, and we wanted her to spend her last moments in her familiar environment.
While a very sad day overall, I have only good things to say about the service provided by Veteris.
From the call handler to the vet who attended, everyone could not have been more helpful and compassionate.

We are new to London and we had to have our fluff girl Fergie checked out for her paw. We came over from New York in February and everything was fine until she jumped off a chair. Fortunately, it was a minor injury, but we needed a vet quickly because we were leaving on a trip the next day. We called Veteris for an emergency appointment and Maddie showed up to check Fergie out. We were so impressed with the service and we were even more impressed with Maddie the young vet who took care of Fergie. I highly recommend Veteris for mobile emergency pet service in London. They are fantastic.

The emergency vet, Akhil, was efficient, thorough and extremely caring throughout. We never felt rushed, and he explained each step clearly, with great compassion. He carefully talked us through all the options at a very difficult time. Sadly, our elderly cat had to be put to sleep, but Akhil made the whole process as gentle and supportive as possible.
We’re very grateful for his kindness shown to both us and our cat and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

I called this morning and within an hour the vet Finley arrived at my home to check on my girl who had puppies yesterday
Finley was great with my girl and gave me great advice, I’m really happy with the service I received and I would use this vet again in a heartbeat

The vet who treated our cat was genuinely excellent, professional, polite, caring, and very thorough in explaining her eye condition and treatment plan. I have absolutely no criticism of the vet himself.

However, my issue is with the company’s pricing practices and lack of transparency.

At no point before dispensing the medication were we informed what the medications would cost.

We were only presented with the final invoice afterwards, which included medication charges that I consider completely excessive.

We were charged:

• £71.80 for Chloramphenicol Eye Ointment

• £49.00 for Loxicom Oral Suspension

After checking online afterwards, the exact same Chloramphenicol 1% Eye Ointment 4g is widely available from UK pharmacies for:

- £4.99 from Stag Direct

- £5.76 from AHMU Health & Household

- £5.99 from Healthimax

- £6.49 from Pharmacy Online

- £6.59 from The Health Pharmacy

The exact same Loxicom Oral Suspension for Cats is available online for:

- £6.91 from Vets4u

- £8.03 from The PharmPet Co

This means the Chloramphenicol ointment was marked up by approximately 1,340%, while the Loxicom suspension was marked up by approximately 610% compared to normal online UK retail pricing.

What makes this even harder to justify is that the Chloramphenicol ointment dispensed to us was a standard HUMAN pharmacy medication, commonly sold over the counter for bacterial conjunctivitis, not some specialist, or rare veterinary-only product.

I fully understand and accept emergency consultation fees and appreciate that out-of-hours veterinary care is expensive.

But these medication markups, without any upfront discussion, or consent, regarding the cost, feel completely unreasonable.

Had the costs been explained beforehand, at least we could have made an informed decision and purchased from our local pharmacy

Again, the actual vet was excellent.

My disappointment is entirely with the company’s pricing, are can't believe this is even legal!!!

I cannot recommend Veteris highly enough. Dr. Vinh was incredibly compassionate, friendly, and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made us feel supported every step of the way.

Thank you for everything you did for our cat - we are truly so grateful. The reception team were also wonderful, kind, and very helpful.

From the first phone-call to the waiting time (minimal) to the calmness of the vet who came the house, it couldn’t have been a better experience. Dr Vinh was calm and reassuring, so brilliant with my dog and clearly explained everything. Cannot thank you enough! Such a privilege to have a service like this, and access to wonderful people, for us pet owners.

The staff were friendly and attentive. They truly seemed to care for our injured cat. If we ever need an emergency veterinarian again, we will certainly return.

They sent a vet out to our house within 3 hours after our cat scratched her eye badly (and very late at night), did tests and provided us with all the medication she needed. The vet was very adaptable given our house isn’t a vet clinic and sweet with our cat. She explained everything clearly. If we didn’t have this option over the bank holiday weekend we would have had to take our cat to a veterinary hospitable in the middle of the night which would have been super stressful all around. Or we would have had to wait 3 days until our vet practice was open again, and then wait until an available appointment, during which time, the injury could have deteriorated or gotten infected and made everything much worse for our cat. Highly recommend this service.

Our dog found and ate a couple dark chocolate bars late at night and we called Veteris to help. The vet arrived within 40 minutes and did an incredible job. So kind, thoughtful and professional. Really impressive

I contacted Veteris after midnight with urgent concerns, they responded quickly and sensitively, the Vet arrived after 30 mins and was very professional, pleasant, patient and gentle with my cat.
What a wonderful service.

Brilliant service from the initial triage call, to the wonderful vet Emma arriving at 3am to treat our poorly JRT. She was really gentle with her examination, and explained all the treatments and possible side-effects. The whole experience was so much better than having to go to an out of hours vet, especially for our dog, and he’s now thankfully on the mend. The cost of everything was explained up front and was incredibly reasonable. I can’t recommend Veteris highly enough!

At around midnight last week, my beloved doggo Fernando decided to recreate a scene somewhere between a low budget horror movie and American Psycho by bursting a cyst in his ear and covering absolutely everything in blood.

At this stage I had exhausted both my medical expertise and my supply of towels trying to stop the flow, so I called my vet’s out of hours service and was pointed towards Veteris Clapham 24 Hour Animal Hospital & Urgent Care.

About an hour later, Dr Tal arrived in a white electric van like some kind of modern veterinary knight in shining armour. Calm, reassuring, pragmatic and brilliant with Fernando from the moment he walked through the door.

Within minutes the situation was under control, Fernando was sorted and my blood pressure had reduced from “major incident” to merely “slightly traumatised dog owner”.

Now, was it cheap? No, but what is when it comes to pets? But frankly, if somebody turns up to your house around midnight within an hour, fixes your bleeding Labrador and saves your carpets from looking like a crime documentary, that feels pretty epic value to me and the cost was not significantly different to a visit to the actual vets.

I called them at 10.20pm for my dog, was advised upto a 2 hour wait for home call from vet which was fine. But Dr Eric was on his way to me within half hour and when he got here he helped my pooch so much I could never thank him enough for what he did.

Our beloved dog, Max, became ill late in the evening, out of normal Vets hours. We, therefore, contacted Veteris and the lady operator was very calm and pleasant, explaining everything clearly and precisely. We were advised there could be quite a lengthy wait but, in fact, the Vet, Tal, was with us quicker than expected. Tal was wonderful, he was so kind, caring, patient and professional, chatting to Max and calming us also, as we were in a very emotional state. As Tal helped him drift off to Doggie Heaven he spoke softly and kindly to Max and gave us all the time we needed to be with him. Thank you all so much, it is good to know there are still such caring people out there.

Finlay was an amazing professional, super calm and made our cat Joni feel at ease (as much as possible as she’s not easy)

Really great experience. I had to make an out of hours emergency call at 22.00 on a Sunday. A vet arrived within an hour and a half. Quickly diagnosed my cat's illness, provided a treatment plan and also gave great advice on his nutrition needs. Very grateful for the efficient and kind service.
