Excellant experience and cant wait to get our work. Excellant choice of products with different budgets catered for. Been around for 20+plus years and can understand why. Fully recommend and will use again

Wonderful family experience with our 12yr 15 yr and 19year olds. They hate getting their pics taken (unless its a selfie) but the photographer made them cone out of their shells. Photographer took a variety of family and individual shots of kids and the kids together which is a rarity to get them together. We were given a price/product guide at the end of the session and shown some products venture do on the walls! Wow they are expensive but look it too! We came back for our show which was nerve racking as not used to seeing ourselves up on the big screen! The person showing us made us feel at ease and was friendly. We had a voucher which gave a us a free pic in a black frame but decided to get something for the wall. Certainly not made to do so like some other reviewers have said (as a customer you have to power to say no and noone can force you to buy).
Just need to await the photos arriving!

I won a voucher in a competition, I had registered the voucher with my preferred studio being the Rochdale one. The next day I had a phone call with someone from the studio about making an appointment. I told them my family name then the women on the phone said they can only offer 1 voucher per family per year. Earlier in the year my parents used there voucher they received last year this year as last year was not a suitable time. The women said she would have to check with a manager if I’m still eligible to use the voucher. She said she would call me back by the end of the day the end of day passed and I had heard nothing. I phoned them on Friday a few days after the original conversation and when I told them the family name they put the phone down. I won the voucher in the competition therefore is not my fault it’s one voucher per family per year. Maybe the company should check this when sending the voucher out, as the competition asked for my family’s name. This is very unprofessional.

Me and my husband had our pictures taken with our dog Poppy and we are really pleased with the results. I was so nervous to get pictures taken but our photographer really made us feel so reassured during the photoshoot and we loved it. Poppy had a great time and the pictures when we saw them at the viewing with Lisa were fantastic. We ordered some frameless wall pieces (there is so much choice) and also some Christmas gifts. We even got a bauble ready for our Christmas tree this year. Special forever memories and some wonderful gifts for presents this year. Thank you we can't wait to collect our pictures.

Collected my pictures yesterday wow love them.
Newborn shoot was calm and relaxed lots of different backgrounds and baskets to use lots of attention to detail. The frame range is really high quality and everyone at the studio was really friendly and made us feel welcome.
Don’t usually put reviews but I wanted to thank the Rochdale team for an amazing experience and beautiful pictures of our baby boy. Will be returning in the future.

Great photoshoot and great staff however the lack of communication afterwards is not great as we are still waiting for our order nearly 9 weeks later and only found out that a picture was damaged due to my partner phoning to chase? We was told 6 weeks but normally takes about 3, I just think we could have been kept up to date? As I’m writing this we still have no idea when we can expect our order.

Won a free experience through facebook the experience was great, person who took our photos was lovely got loads of good photo unfortunately I didn’t realise how expensive it was going to be to get any of the photos around £1800 if you want them all on a usb and you can’t just get the usb it has to be part of a package you can buy now pay later but I don’t like debt always live by if we can’t afford we don’t get it we ended up buying 4 small photos for £200 received them today and not happy with them there lovely photos but they’ve been ruined with the mark they put on them to stop you copying them no one told us about that and I wouldn’t of bought any had I known you get a really ugly quite large square at the bottom of each photo it really just ruins them and the amount of money you pay for them surely there’s an other way of doing instead of ruining the image and having to see it constantly. Won’t be back and won’t be recommending to anyone my sister also won a free session and I’ve told her not to bother why would you want images that are ruined so you don’t copy them I’ve paid so much for them there my images now I should be able to enjoy them not hide them away because I hate how the square makes them look.

Bought a voucher for my partner. What a waste of money.
From the moment he booked the photo shoot he advised that we wouldn't need / want wall art, but would want a digital copy of any photos.
He explained that within the next 12 months we will be going travelling and won't need physical images, but simply wanted a digital copy as a memento pre setting off on our adventure. I had an NDE in November 2022 and we’ve learned how important it is to capture moments and memories. We were advised throughout booking and the shoot that this would be possible and were assured they could accommodate what we wanted to achieve. So with that in mind the shoot was booked.
On the day we took changes of clothes and outfits for ourselves and our dog as advised.
Our photographer Lucie was amazing, putting us both at ease and she was amazing with our dog. The images she took and the way she edited them was fantastic!
I feel her efforts and work in this studio are utterly wasted, undervalued and she deserves more because the studio themselves are rip off merchants.
After the images are taken, the photographer takes a week or so to edit them and make them perfect, and our images were perfect and everything we wanted them to be.
At the viewing appointment your pics are played to you in a small movie-esque way.
We were over the moon, the images looked amazing and Lucie did an AMAZING JOB.
Imagine our surprise when we find that to get our images digitally (Keeping in mind the studio knew all along that this was what we wanted, and we were advised that, although our request was slightly different than other customers, our needs could 100% be met) the cost of that would be £800.
We were advised the photo shoot and editing cost was covered in the original voucher cost and did expect there to be a charge for digital copies.
So it then costs £800 for those images to be copied to a pen drive?
£800 for 30 seconds of time? After all, they said the shoot and edits were covered already in thr voucher.
I see in previous comments the studio states pricing can be seen on their site, and i accept that to be true. However, in the run up to the shoot we worked extensively with the studio, we were assured our specific needs would be met.
That's the sole reason we booked.
In the viewing we were advised the cost of the pen drive is something that was included in another package ( a package not found in the catalogue we were given). One which includes image prints and a custom frame.
Having been lured in and mislead into a purchase situation, we asked the cost of a pen drive alone, no print, no framing, no labour. A simple copy and paste of images. Still £800.

I appreciate they don’t want you to go and get images printed elsewhere, I’m a photographer and graphic designer, I understand their point, but as they were made aware of our needs from day one, and then decided to mislead us, with the hope of selling us something at the end, I cannot recommend them. I feel they have been deceitful.
We would happily have paid for digital copies. Watermarked if needs be.
But £800?? After being assured our needs could be accommodated.
No. Absolutely not.
I cannot begin to explain how mislead we feel, how ripped off we feel. In essence the studio lied to us in order to have us in a room with the sole purpose of trying to up sell more packages.
Before leaving the appointment we were advised that as we didn’t need a print (included in the voucher), the single image we had been allowed to select from the 25 or so taken, would be emailed to us.
This STILL has not been received

If I could, I wouldn’t give a star!
I received the voucher after my daughter was born and so we decided to do the photo shoot. The photo shoot was fast, the photographer very helpful. Before leaving we were given the appointment for viewing the photos and a brochure with the hallucinating prices of some frames saying take a look if you can interest something but without ever specifying that would be the only way to get the photos.
When we showed up at the appointment to see the photos they showed us the power point video well created with our photos and the lady "held" us for an hour explaining the work on the photos and frames, going around the speech to get to the end to tell us that unfortunately the only way to get our photos would be to pay a minimum of 1000 £.
Something crazy and out of the ordinary.
Assuming that every time I asked for prices, specifying on several occasions that I was mainly interested in digital goods ones, I was never given the answer saying they had various packages that would be discussed at the view of the photos. This is absolutely not right as it does not give people the opportunity to understand first whether or not it is worth doing the photo shoot.
I see that they always answer that the pieces are written on the site but nowhere on the site is it written that the only way to take the photos would have been making a £1000 minimum purchase as you have to take a wall frame.
Nowhere is it written on the site that if you want the USB with photos of the format they decide to pay it 800£ as "its value" said by the lady.
We opted for the photo that was provided in the voucher as everything else was impossible to take with such prices. We came out of there very demoralized for the way they handled the whole thing. My husband was quite skeptical from the beginning but I wanted to trust him. I advise you not to do that!
Don’t be fooled unless you are willing to spend a lot of money to get the photos in the end. It was a bitter and unrespectful experience for us and those like us goes to do something nice with their family and finds themselves having to give up taking photos as the prices are very high and are not communicated until the end Not even when asked first!

Had an above and beyond experience here! I took my hedgehog and dog to be photographed and the whole process went extremely smooth. Had a great time and the photos came out fantastic! Will definitely be using the studio for any future photography.

We had a session at Venture photography, when arrived we were very pleased with the studio and the friendliness of the staff we didn't feel rushed which was very important to us, the session itself was quite fun and we were very confortable, we got to shoot most of our ideas and got some very nice input from our photographer! The end result was also very good! The quality of the photos was great and it really tied up a very enjoyable experience!

Thanks Rochdale Venture Just picked up my photos and love them. My Dog looks so super cute. Cant wait to get them on our wall!!!

I have used Venture Photography 3 times over the last 20yrs and used the Rochdale studio this time as now live in the area. The photography session was excellent and our photographer, was attentive and made us feel at ease, especially as hate getting my photograph taken. Given a price guide brochure at the end which was easy to follow and had prices. Had a rough idea of prices from before and was surprised to see that despite the time spent since last experience there was little to no difference in prices which is a surprise these days with cost of living and all that. The viewing experience was relaxed and friendly and feelt no pressure to spend loads. (End of the day they can't force you to spend) received a usb with our special package but no doubt it will sit in a draw which lets be honest will happen to most who get one! Surprised at some of the other reviews as not what we experienced at the studio and as Venture has been around for 20+yrs they know what they are doing. Yes you can get pics done cheaper elsewhere but from experience have found they aren't better plus undercut Venture Photography to get your business and i bet those cheaper photographers aren't around in 5 years time.
Well worth the money and time spent and will be back!

Beware of Venture Photography. Their lack of a 24-hour cancellation policy left me feeling frustrated and trapped when I needed to make changes to my booking. Additionally, their pricing for photos was outrageously high, making it feel like they were trying to squeeze every last penny out of customers. Overall, I would not recommend them due to their poor policies and pricing practices.

If the Rochdale team were open to a 5 day cancellation policy why was I not allowed to cancel within 24hrs is my question?

We used a gift voucher that 2 of our party purchased for our friend. It included the photoshoot and a free print so we understood that if we wanted more images there would be another cost.

The photoshoot was good, photographer was polite and very excited shooting our photos. The issue was the presentation of the photos a couple weeks later.

Firstly we were told it would be this showcase of all the photos and it was an hour booking. The presentation of the photos to a nice little slideshow was about 5 minutes. Apparently the photographer chose the best ones... which I thought we would be able to do. Majority of the photos were great but a few of them that should have included us all in, I just wasn't in them, so unsure how that could have been classed as the best ones.

The biggest shocker were the additional packages. (Which were not advertised anywhere when booking the voucher which is very sneaky). The woman started listing the prices of the prints with the frames, they apparently do not to do prints without frames which is ridiculous, none of us understood that rule. So we asked about digital copies. The cheapest USB stick of the photos... £800. For high frames of the digital photos over £1200. Absolutely ridiculous and looking at the "best photos" the photographer chose, some of them were definitely not worth that amount.

Due to this, our friend got very emotional. We had to ask the lady to leave numerous times to discuss the price and console our friend who felt like we had been bated and started to dislike the photos because of the cost.

We decided on a deal where we could only get 2 digital photos instead of the print that came with the voucher. And asked if we could go away and decide on the price of the USB as its alot of money to think about. My friend asked how long they keep the photos for and she said she can't put a time frame on how long they keep it for as it depends on how much memory they have. So for all we know they could have been gone they day after.

This makes me believe that they expect people to buy the photos there and then at their ridiculous prices.

I have already warned my family and friends to never use go here for photos.

Got this gift for our friend who recently had a baby and we wanted group photos with the baby. It was a voucher that included the shoot and 1 free photo but we were aware there would be adding that would cost more.
The photoshoot was really fun and the photographer was great. We had to book a viewing which we arranged for 2 weeks later.
We arrived and were told that the photos had been filtered down by a member of the team to choose “the best ones” which personally I think should have been our decision. After going through all the photos we were asked if we had seen the brochure and which package we wanted. At this point I explained I had reviewed all of the brochure but they were all out of our budget and we were probably looking more at a digital package if possible so we could split the cost between us at which point she told us the cheapest option was a standard usb that would be £800!! There was only around 40-50 photos on the slideshow and it just felt way too much. We asked for a moment to discuss and agreed we couldn’t afford it and so asked the lady if we could just choose the 1 free photo. Whilst going through them my friend got visibly upset and ended up in tears because she had to choose one single photo of her child and friends. We were left alone again to calm her down but we’re just repeatedly offered finance on the various packages.
Eventually we were told that one photo costs £95 in a frame and as a compromise they could email it to us so we could all print a copy but it was a restricted size and would take 2 weeks to send to us. We had already put a £35 deposit down and so on the day we ended up paying £60 for 2 small digital images that would take 2 weeks to arrive.
Although the photoshoot was great fun you feel very judged for not being able to afford the extortionate prices. They claim they can’t sell prints without frames which is nonsense.
Overall the prices ruined the experience for us and we wouldn’t recommend unless you are willing to spend a minimum of £95 per photo.
The reply below says they have been in touch separately to discuss but they haven’t and the booklet provided with prices was for frames not for digital copies that was not expressed in the booklet, we were upfront about not being able to afford what we saw in the booklet and needed digital versions to save money but it was as expensive. I find it hard to believe that your USB drives are handmade in Cheshire and therefore cost more than high street so your reasoning is nonsense.

We ‘won’ a photography package after voting for a friend’s image in a monthly competition run by Venture Rochdale. Turns out, everyone wins.
It entitled us to a photo shoot and a 5”7 framed photo. When booking we had to leave a £10 deposit.

The photoshoot itself was fine, it was a basic set up, but that was what I wanted. And the photographer was nice with my two boys. I really wanted to get a good picture of them together. We were asked to bring toys, and unfortunately they featured in a lot of the pictures, as my boys didn’t want to stop playing. Midway through, she gave them both a plastic medal, which was then worn by my eldest for the remainder of the shoot, which meant that they weren’t usable either.

We were invited to book a viewing, which I attended alone, and given the brochure with the first mention of prices. My jaw dropped. They are incredibly expensive - think the cheapest smallest framed image is £195!

At the viewing, they play you a presentation of your photos with some music. I was already hesitant about purchasing, but thought if there was a good enough picture of both my children together I would consider spending. This wasn’t to be. They’d obviously had difficulty putting a decent presentation together, as lots of the images showed them with their eyes closed or with weird faces. Really they shouldn’t have bothered putting them in. The part that first made me uncomfortable was deciding which photos I didn’t want to consider - the lady went through each image and I had to say no or yes, and for us it was mostly no. I felt really deflated after this as there wasn’t any that didn’t have a toy in or a cheap medal. I wanted the images to be timeless and they really weren’t. We ended up with 3 images to pick from, but I wasn’t in love with any of them really.

I wasn’t given a hard sell. I explained that I thought the prices were too much and that the images didn’t give me a lot of options. I chose one image of one of the boys, and it has to come in a black frame and you can’t just have the print. So very quickly I left, what should have been an hour long appointment lasted about 15 minutes. They don’t post the image to you, you have to spend time and petrol, again, to go and pick it up.

The quality of the frame is terrible. It is really lightweight, very cheap feeling and the back of the frame is taped up, hiding the exposed mdf on the back of it. I have decided to remove the picture from the frame as we don’t have black frames anywhere else in the house and it’s printed on cheap, flimsy photo paper.

The image has been edited, but almost too much that it looks slightly blurred. There is no skin texture whatsoever.

I would not recommend Venture to anyone. There are better private photographers who offer the same service and better value. Venture offer nothing special.

Won a comp, got photoshoot done. Mithered the life out of us to get a sitting session for the photos. Put pressure on us to buy a usb stick for £830 - scandalous for a few pictures.
Said the pictures wasn’t edited. They definitely was.
Had another photoshoot done elsewhere for 1/4 of the price and was a million times better

Do not go here. Ever.

We were given a voucher for a newborn shoot and a free frame. When we arrived at the session, we were completely disappointed with the whole experience. The photographer kept disappearing off for 15/20 minutes at a time to give us 'privacy' while we changed his nappy. Nappy changing doesn't take 15/20 minutes to do. This happened three times during the entire 2 hour session. During the session, the photographer was very chatty about her life but to a point where she kept calling her own child 'horrible' and 'girls are bitchy' every 5 minutes. This was also incredibly uncomfortable to listen to especially as new parents.

When we went to the photo viewing, the photos were awful. They were that bad, I actually couldn't help but cry. The angles were horrible, the lightening was way too bright that the newborn pictures were barely visible and the editing made everything look so false. To make matters worse, the woman showing us the photos then went and placed a chair in front of the door and basically barricaded us in. The whole experience was horrendous. I've never felt more intimated. When I said I didn't want the photos as 1, they were rubbish and 2, the prices are absolutely ridiculous for crap pictures, she then persisted on trying to get us better deals. They wouldn't take no for an answer. I genuinely felt like I had to become incredibly rude just to get her to leave us alone.

We had a newborn shoot done elsewhere the photos were half the price and 1000 times nicer taken with actual care. Don't waste your time and energy going to a company like this. They will rip you off, intimidate you and the whole experience will be horrendous. Go to a smaller photographer who actually cares about their job.

To then make matters worse, venture keep sending me more and more vouchers for free photoshoots. They go in the bin faster than they arrived through the door.
