I saw an advert on Facebook for a humming bird necklace. It said this item was reduced from £70 to around £19 in a Sale.
I looked up the website independent of Facebook and saw a professional looking website and with the name Velro London I thought it was U.K. based.
It offered a 30 day money back guarantee.
So I bought it.
When it eventually arrived way past its delivery date I was horrified to find it was an image of a humming bird sandwiched between two bits of plastic.
I complained to the company and asked for a refund. They said they would refund but I had to return it to the place they said I had to return it to.
It was China and I would have to pay for the return postage including export taxes etc.
This came to far more than I paid for the item.
Obviously a con.
The address they asked me to return it to is the same address as several other companies with a slight variation to the name. All of these companies have bad reviews by people getting caught like I was caught.
They did give me around £3 discount if I kept the item. I agreed to take the money but I am unsure it’s been paid into my card at this time.
I’m just putting this down to experience and the item is going to end up in the bin.
