The appraisal arrived well within 48 hours and was far more informative even than I'd hoped. Somehow, it was also "warm" in tone, despite my item not currently being in vogue enough to merit monetary... Leggi di più

A waste of my money
I would say I wasted my money on valuing 3 items. All were Asian. I found out as much about my items from etsy, ebay and other sites using a photo than I did from value my stuff. The last item was a Japanese cloisonne enamel vase that is pre-WWII. Because it is in such good condition and I had no 'bill of sale' they said it was probably mass produced later in the century. I was born in 1949/my dad left Japan in 1947 and my he had acquired it during the occupation of japan in 1945+. I guess he failed to get a bill of sale. Imagine that. In any case I would NEVER use these people again. It feels like someone sits behind a computer just like I did and puts non-specific info and value on these things. I will take the vase to an honest antique dealer and try to find out more about it as it's probably the most valuable. A total waste of my time and money.
My first time.
This was my first time using this platform and I was really happy to get the evaluation that I received as it is exactly what I wanted to hear lol. I’ve decided to keep the base ball and not return it because of this. I understand that without physically seeing the item in person that the appraisal is not guaranteed and I am OK with that. Just hearing the explanation, and history of the tarpaper baseball has me satisfied enough to keep it. Thank you very much and I look forward to future appraisals.
Misleading
Misleading: can NOT be used for insurance appraisal; declined by our (major) insurance company as legitimate appraisal. They claim it would be accepted by insurance in the FAQ but then bury in their terms that it's not to be used for insurance purposes.
"4.3 The Valuation may not be used for official or formal purposes such as in legal proceedings, insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings, divorces cases, for insurance purposes, or anything such like. "
Fast delivery
Fast delivery, good content and easy to understand.
Great communication
Beware.…look elsewhere
If I could rate no stars I certainly would my only experience would be defined as a scam by all means I had an item appearing to be late 1800s symbolic tools in a wooden box with a engraved plate of maker an de Moines Iowa the tools were a plow, scythe, axe, shovel, cultivation drag. I asked for what we're the items the era and a little history I was sent the evaluation as masonic symbolic ritual tools I knew obviously these were not masonic tools so asked for a better evaluation I then got in return the same answer plus stating made an the maker being in England even though it clearly stated De Moines Iowa on the fitted box for these tools anyway I leaving out more ridiculous evaluation to sum this up but after going to a local antique shop I was then told it was symbolic symbols of patrons of husbandtry which is agricultural related which i figured from start becouse of what tools were an i then confirmed this by Google search of Patrons of Husbandtry findings were identical to what I had anyway my items were glanced at, guessed at TWICE I asked for refund multiple times asking to look at evidence as to how clearly i was scammed with no cares to robbing me i never received a refund so beware they certainly have careless greedy unprofessional evaluators looking for a quick buck so I'd say it's a gamble to get an honest an accurate evaluation of an item from this group
RING UNDERVALUED BY £1700
***DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY TO GIVE YOU A GENUINE VALUATION MY RING WAS UNDER VALUED BY £1700***
I need an up to date valuation of my grandmothers antique diamond engagement ring, I had previously had it valued in 2002 by a local reputable jeweller. I provided Value My Stuff with all the information the previous jeweller had given me, carat of the gold, carat and clarity of the diamonds, etc.
Having submitted my valuation Sunday evening, I was surprised to see and email from Value My Stuff at 8.30am the following morning, surely it should take longer to accurately value an antique diamond ring, apparently not! They valued it at an insurance valuation of £800, which considering my previous valuation in 2002 was £1950, they’d clearly just plucked a figure out of the air! I’ve since had it re valued by another local reputable jeweller at £2500. I have emailed and asked for a refund as the certificate and valuation aren’t worth the paper they are printed on, this has been declined and I’ve been waiting for 2 days for a copy of their complaints procedure and a reply to my last email. They did offer me a free credit to my account, which is useless as I wouldn’t trust them to value a piece of bread!
I have used Value My Stuff twice previously and am now concerned I’ve sold both pieces way under their value.
PLEASE DO NOT RELY ON THEIR VALUATION, 100% NOT TRUSTWORTHY
The expert? disregards scientific testing results
Wanted a valuation of a Chinese terracotta Ox that had an Oxford authenticity date of 500 years old.
The expert? questioned the validity and authenticity of the world wide accepted method to date clay fired artifacts and said it was most likely fake. To totally disregard the results from one of the world's most trusted institution for TL dating and formulate his/her own option and provide a low ball valuation is obscene. I warn others from using this service. What a joke!

Quick turnaround for valuation
Quick turnaround for valuation. Nice description of items based on photos provided.
Simplistic valuation, no knowledge of the subject at all
Insufficient knowledge, used twice and they do not get further than what they find on the internet, I can do that myself of course. You really hope to receive a source of information that you do not yet know, well... forget it. They cannot handle really rare pieces, they do not have enough knowledge for that. I would say do not spend money on this, it is a cheap service that you get in return that they try to package neatly.
Good experience
Good experience, good infos, prompt delivery. Thank you, I' call again.

I've never used this service before
I've never used this service before, I was a bit sceptical it might be some kind of scam. Anyway I thought I'd take a risk and give it a go, I do buy and sell a lot of antiques/collectables. Sometimes though there are gaps in my knowledge, So I set up the account, sent over pictures and details. Chose the 48 hour option and waited... I did recieve a message stating "Thank you for choosing ValueMyStuff! We've sent your request to one of our experts, and you will receive an email with your appraisal report" it was also stated I'd recieve a reply within 48 hours, it will be 4 days tomorrow and I've not recieved anything. Oh I did get a receipt and confirmation of payment which was nice of them. 🤣
