Hired a Nomad VW camper van from the Romford branch as first timers.
On arrival was greeted by Katie and shown the camper, Katie explained how everything worked and answered our questions perfectly. Katie was great camper was great and overall experience was great. Will be planning our next adventure at Vaaroom Romford 😁

We were greeted on arrival by Katie who was friendly, warm and personable with great knowledge which as first time, slightly nervous campervan bods was extremely helpful and reassuring. Everything was explained and showed to us and all our questions answered fully, even the silly obvious ones dealt with, with great patience and humour. The van was very clean and had everything that we were likely to need for a short trip, even a cheese grater. It was a real pleasure and we enjoyed our trip massively. We will definitely be using Vaaroom again and are already planning our next trip with them. We look forward to seeing them and Katie again. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Everything from our initial enquiry, to the booking and payment, pick up and return where all easy and quick. Loved it all, Katie and Yuri the van. Thank you xxx

Booking was easy. Collection and drop off were easy. The 2 birth motorhome I hired was very clean, well equipped and well maintained. At point of collection and return, Katie was very knowledgeable and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything in the motorhome worked as expected, and was simple to operate. I can thoroughly recommend Vaaroom and will be back to hire from them again.

I contacted Vaaroom following a hire with them. We discovered an issue with the water supply not working during the hire. It wasn’t a big deal as we were on a short trip and had access to other washing up facilities.
Normally however you would expect to have something in full working order when you pay for it right? So a token partial refund isn’t an unreasonable request, unless of course you are dealing with this company.
It was obvious from the outset they were never going to offer even the smallest refund. The tone of the response was immediately defensive.

Please can you confirm what you mean when you say the ‘water tap did not work’ ?
Please can you also confirm if you contacted the depot whilst you were out on hire so they were aware of the issue and could have tried to resolve it for you?”
I don’t think I will be a repeat customer based on this response and having read other people’s experience when dealing with any issues that may arise. Seems we got off lightly.
Just remember if you do hire from them to notify them immediately if you have an issue so they can’t play that card against you.

We rented a van from Vaaroom Bristol for 7 nights. The van was good and we actually had a great trip. My dissatisfaction and the poor rating stems from their post hire service. Let me explain. We got a van that had run 50K miles with visible wear and tear. The gas vent (plastic) was loose and was also highlighted by the person who handed us the van. Upon return, the ‘plastic’ vent was missing and we did inform the team of this beforehand. It either flew away during driving or someone flicked it. Either way, we were willing to pay for the missing part and damage. To our utter surprise, Vaaroom charged us an astronomical £240 for a piece of plastic which retails at £20 and was fitted in 20 seconds in front of us. When challenged, the customer service team mentioned this charge was for ‘labour’ (20 second of screw fixing), employee time spent to send email and charge my account and the actual plastic vent. They won’t share the proof that the vent actually cost them that much, because it clearly did not. This to me is extortion and I’d like to make people aware and careful of this before they plan on booking a rental with Vaaroom. Bear in mind they might charge you almost 33% of the total rental amount (£240 penalty for a £790 total van rental for a week) for a piece of missing plastic and associated 20 second of labour to fix it. All of this on top of paying an additional £210 against insurance. Please reconsider before making your booking as you can’t fight Vaaroom with logical arguments and questions. Apparently they’ve mentioned these charges on their 5 page long tncs, which I appreciate them pointing out later. However, this still does not make sense why they would charge that much money for a plastic vent and refuse to explain the same just because it’s on their tncs. I am sorry but this isn’t being transparent to your customers in any way. Vaaroom - if it really matters to you guys, kindly be more considerate to your customers and be reasonable in the penalties you charge. I am definitely not going to be your future customer because of the poor experience I had but I hope you take this review with some seriousness and revisit your processes/responses. Cheers

As a slightly apprehensive first timer ….Katy did an amazing job explaining everything and making the drive away a little less daunting.
The whole booking process, pick up and drop off was seamless - even with my less than cooperative credit card!
The van was perfect for our trip ( off grid and with hook up ) so we will definitely be back.
In an ideal world a bigger leisure battery and a second gas bottle would have eased my fuel anxiety - but neither actually ran out on the trip 🤣
Thanks again, with special thanks to Katy for her excellent customer service and her patience with a newbie. Same time next year!

Customer service leaves a lot to be desired for.
We hired a campervan 19th July - 24th July with a confirmed pick up time of 1500 I arrived before 1500 however they had one member of staff working and it was gone 1600 before I was on my way there were others waiting that amount of time too and others even longer. Varoom will state but it was our busiest day of the year, from a customer point of view this is a lame excuse if you know your going to be busy hire more staff, returning the van was the same issue more waiting time. but if your late returning the van they try to charge you but apparently its expectable to make customers wait an hour each time. Then here was the bad part on our first night we went to use the hob to cook dinner however this wasn't working, varoom only pointed the finger and blamed their customer for locking out the hob themselves but I was only doing what I was shown on site when collecting the Van, also Varoom stated that someone called Katie sent me the instructions to reset the hob this is also incorrect the entire time I dealt with them I didn't once speak to anyone called Katie. Yes I was sent the instructions to reset and tried a number of times and it never worked. When I returned the Van the polite member of staff on site even tried himself several times to reset it and even disconnected the battery but he couldn't get it to work either and said he would get an engineer to look at it. Also another note please read the small print because there are charges you can incur which they don't actually verbally tell you about. Also no offer of compensation for the inconvenience of having a defective hob not a penny just pointing the blame elsewhere.
