I love the way we get affordable education

My experience with the Uopeople has been very transformative. The academic structure, emphasis on practical skills, and supportive learning environment equiped me with the confidence and competence to pursue a meaningful internship opportunity. Through my coursework in business and entrepreneurship, computer science. I developed a strong foundation in financial management, marketing strategy, and operations planning.
I am now interning at a dynamic local bakery and milling company that not only produces high quality baked goods but also operates its own network of supermarkets to promote value added products. The company intergrates traditional craftsmanship with morden retail strategy, giving me firsthand experience in supply chain logistics, products placement, and customer engagement. I appreciate the opportunity.

As a student in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program at University of the People, I’ve found the experience to be both affordable and academically rigorous. The tuition-free model—with only modest assessment fees—makes higher education accessible without debt, which is especially valuable for working adults like me. The program is fully online and accredited by WASC and DEAC, ensuring that the degree is recognized by employers and graduate schools. The weekly structure of readings, discussion forums, quizzes, and peer-reviewed assignments has helped me build discipline and time management skills, while the curriculum covers essential business topics that I can apply directly to my real-world job as a printing press operator with leadership ambitions.

That said, the peer-review system can be hit or miss depending on who grades your work, and instructor involvement is minimal. Success in this program depends on self-motivation, resilience, and the ability to adapt to independent learning. Despite those challenges, I’ve gained valuable knowledge, connected with a global student community, and remained on track for career advancement. Overall, I highly recommend University of the People to anyone seeking a flexible, low-cost, and accredited path to a business degree.

What makes my experience amazing at uopeople is the fact that it allows me to pursue my studies while managing daily activities. If you are looking for something easy with no effort, I would not recommend Uopeople; however, if you are looking for a school that will allow you to develop your autonomy and autodidact, Uopeople is one of the best.

After losing everything at age 50 due to a tragic work accident, I had to reinvent myself and start studying again. With two jobs and little time, the flexibility offered by University of the People has been essential. The platform allows me to study whenever possible, and the content helps me prepare for future academic opportunities in Portugal. Although the degree is not yet recognized in my country, UoPeople provides strong foundations, excellent support, and a valuable sense of progress. I truly recommend it as a complementary education path.

My experience with the University of the People was deeply disappointing and did not meet the standards one would expect from a credible institution of higher learning.

Despite the heavy marketing around being “tuition-free,” the reality is different. While there’s technically no tuition, the mandatory exam fees for each course often end up costing more than monthly tuition at many private universities — including those that offer better academic structure and more transparent student support.

What’s particularly frustrating is that there are many other universities around the world — including online options — that don’t aggressively advertise themselves, yet truly support their students and offer low-cost or even genuinely tuition-free education, with real academic oversight and qualified instructors.

The most concerning issue with UoPeople is the lack of academic rigor and credibility. Assignments and essays are not graded by professional faculty or qualified academics, but rather by fellow students, many of whom have no relevant expertise or educational background. This peer-to-peer grading system seriously undermines the quality and fairness of the education provided.

Additionally, the university does not require or provide for the defense of a bachelor’s or master’s thesis. This alone makes the degree nearly worthless in many education systems and job markets, especially in regions where academic work must culminate in a final defended project. I find it hard to believe that any serious employer would view such a diploma as equivalent to one earned through more rigorous and professionally supervised programs.

In conclusion, University of the People appears to be a marketing-driven project rather than a truly educational institution. I cannot recommend it to anyone seeking a recognized, high-quality, or professionally meaningful academic experience.

As a working professional, going back to school for another degree was not an easy decision to make. However, enrolling in UoPeople was the right decision for me. The application process was quick and straight-forward. I was able to register for 2 courses, which is perfect for a part-time schedule. I was pleased to learn that the classes are not live, which gives me the flexibility to fit my coursework around my job and daily commitments. I haven't had any difficulties with registration or with the classes, so I have only reached out to my advisor twice. It took her a day or two to get back to me, which was likely due to differences in our time zones, but she was very helpful. It is amazing that I will be getting a higher-level degree from a regionally-accredited university for a fraction of what it would cost me otherwise. I am so grateful to be a student at UoPeople!

So far the speed of response had been terribly bad… And extremely low commitment to your student's future and education. Courses are so boring and low budget.

If you're even thinking of enrolling here, stop. Turn around. Do not. This institution is not just a waste of time and money, it is a machine of negligence, hollow promises, and blatant disregard for students’ futures. I have never in my life encountered such a toxic combination of incompetence, apathy, and bureaucracy. Very annoying.

The response times are glacial—if they respond at all. The staff shows little to no commitment to students’ academic growth or professional success. It’s not education—it’s money-squeezing with a syllabus. Adding to the bad reputation, it adds to your CV.

They market themselves as a place of opportunity and advancement, but in truth, it's more like being trapped in a Kafkaesque nightmare where no one is accountable, students fail, nothing functions properly, and you're paying thousands to be ignored.

University of the People... No! University of the Rip-Off

Such a waste of time.

Being from South Sudan the youngest country in the world, earning a degree while supporting my family has been incredibly challenging. I discovered the University of the People through social media and joined without hesitation, drawn by its online format and flexible assignment schedule.

After enrolling, my family responsibilities increased, making it difficult to focus on my studies consistently. Fortunately, my program advisor encouraged me to apply for a scholarship. I did, and was awarded $1,350, which covered 15 courses. Since then, I haven’t paused my education.

Yesterday, that funding came to an end. I applied for another scholarship and was grateful to be awarded $1,700.

The University of the People is truly making education affordable and accessible on a global scale. I strongly encourage others to consider joining this remarkable institution.
