Rene gave me excellent advice, looking forward to using my new hiking boots. Top class product knowledge from Rene and real care for making sure I got the right boots for me with all info given to facilitate the right purchase.

My sales assistant his name is Remi, was patient helpful, he was happy to show me and let me try on at least 6 different walking boots, that would be totally water proof for walking my two Labrador’s through wet grass and muddy paths, we found a pair for half price at £69 (was £140 ). The discount better than I expected because of it being a Black Friday promotion - as this was on a Saturday 😊 today I walked over two miles in rain across meadows which were water logged - I had warm dry feet when I returned home….I would recommend this store in Chelmsford and my new MERRELL water proof walking boots 👍

After a long 6 hour shopping trip full of everything I wanted being out of stock/not finding anything I needed, I came into sports direct (returning to buy a pair of boots that I'd seen earlier that day) only to find they did not have my size and were basically discontinued even online. I was stressed out especially as it was cyber weekend & I wanted to get something in the deal as I needed normally very expensive boots for a trip to Iceland. Rene helped me decide on another pair of boots instead, helping me try on 2 pairs which I struggled to decide between as I don't usually spend that much just on shoes. We just managed to escape the shop at closing time! Thanks Rene for your patience & help/advice! There was also another guy who helped me get sizes who was really helpful, he mentioned he's a new member of staff and I just wanted to give a thanks to him as well!

We purchased a product online from Blacks which was delivered in the wrong size much to our disappointment. After contacting customer service who were no help at all 0 stars!! we decided to phone Ultimate Outdoors directly. We spoke to Tina who was excellent she put the correct size to one side for us to pick the next day. Flawless customer service. Go to Ultimate Outdoors!!

Had a talk by Malcolm at the Chelmsford branch on equipment for DofE. This was directed at a group of trainee Lowland Expedition Leader candidates. As always Malcolm and his staff, Tina and Jason were very professional and knowledge of equipment was perfect for the group.
