Nothing like a professional service.

Having left an earlier review explaining how my hosting had gone downhill in terms of both performance and also with regards tech support, which uknode described as "a work of fiction rather than a reflection of reality" I thought I should leave a review of the consequences of the review.

Firstly, UKNode attempted to have the review removed by telling trustpilot it was defamatory. Having provided screenshots of tech support tickets and emails, trustpilot decided the review was justified and left it online.

UKnode's response here to criticism of performance was sarcasm. If you think of buying vps hosting from uknode, read my original review and their response and ask if that's what you want from a hosting company. Not a single comment suggesting concern that perhaps something might not be right, just sarcasm towards a customer whose money they already had. Personally I'd say that was 100% the wrong way to deal with customers who suffer from poor service and poor speeds. I'd suggest that offering some form of technical support was a better idea but hey, what do I know?

uknode deny any trace of any tickets which weren't responded to for a week. I can't provide screenshots here of those tickets but sent copies to trustpilot. Perhaps they should upgrade their search software because I found the tickets quite easily:

Tickets from 2025:
Ticket #QKG-202563 opened 13/01/2025
First response from uknode 19/01/2025
Ticket #DEO-527289 opened 10/02/2025
First response from uknode 16/02/2025

The essence of their response to my review was basically sarcasm followed by a message that translates to 'like it or go elsewhere'. That's how they treat customers who have paid for a year upfront.

So, I took uknode's advice looked into alternative hosting. Prior to rehoming the sites on a replacement vps (while I test the new company's performance and tech support) I moved all my domains to cheap 'reseller' hosting. Guess what; speeds improved and tech support questions got answered. I also found an excellent VPS provider, generally regarded as one of the best, so thanks for the advice uknode.

All but one of the other hosting companies I have tried all use live chat as a support option, so even in the worst case ( a company I tested and left) I never had to wait more than 45 minutes for a coherent response to questions.

So there you go uknode. A customer who paid over £600 for a year's vps hosting, whose tickets you didn't take seriously and whose review here you felt deserved sarcasm as opposed to an apology and actual support has decided that it is far better to abandon your vps despite having paid in full up to mid May 2025. I actually stopped using your vps in february, around 3 months before the end of my paid hosting period.

There is no more valid review of your hosting than that of a customer who has paid good money for hosting and yet decides to leave several months early, for fear of the damage your hosting will do to his websites.

By all means imply that's a lie, or respond with sarcasm to that if you like, but remember that people visit trustpilot to see what they can expect from you.

I love that you have no understanding of customer service or how to deal with customers who have problems with your products and services. Presumably that's why you bought out a company that had built a customer base, as it saved you needing to learn how.

Refunds? As it took a week for you to reply to tickets raised for performance issues, I cannot envisage how long you would take to respond to refund requests.

That said, your terms and conditions state "We do not provide refunds for unused portions of the subscription period." That's why I didn't bother asking for a refund. I could do, of course, and could leave a negative review every day for the rest of my paid hosting term too, but I have a business to run and no further time to waste dealing with your company.

Ah, we meet again! It seems our previous response left quite the impression—so much so that you’ve dedicated yet another review to the cause. We appreciate your commitment.

Now, let’s break this down:

1. Yes, we flagged your original review as defamatory. Why? Because it was. But of course, providing “screenshots” of tickets where you conveniently omit all the context is a great way to spin a narrative. Bravo.

2. You proudly parade ticket timestamps as if they prove some grand conspiracy. What you fail to mention is:
• The actual content of these tickets.
• Whether they were submitted with proper details or just vague complaints.
• That response times depend on severity, clarity, and whether a customer is actually cooperative rather than belligerent.

But yes, you’ve successfully proven that we don’t operate a 24/7 live chat support center with instant replies like the £1-per-month hosting resellers you’ve moved to. Well done.

3. Ah, when we correct misinformation, it’s “sarcasm.” When you insult our service and attempt to damage our reputation, it’s “constructive criticism.” Got it.

4. You claim to have abandoned your VPS in February despite paying for a full year. This raises an important question:
• If our service was truly as bad as you say, why did you wait months to leave?
• Why not demand a refund?
• And why are you still here, posting a second review, if you’ve moved on to greener pastures?
Sounds like someone who desperately needs validation.

The bottom line is simple: We provide high-performance hosting for serious clients who understand the technicalities of managing a VPS. We don’t cater to those who expect hand-holding, instant responses, and a personal concierge at all hours.
You’re free to move on. The internet is a big place. Enjoy your new home—hopefully, they have the patience for your theatrics.

To potential customers reading this:
If you prefer hosting that prioritizes facts over fiction, real support over performative outrage, and technical excellence over cheap theatrics—UKNode is here for you.

Best of luck to you, dear reviewer. You’ll need it.
