Donate or Devil!

Went into typo, Union Square, Aberdeen, with my boyfriend and he bought an item that was reduced to £1 (bargain!) and we get to the checkout and as per usual we are asked if we wish to buy any items to donate to charity. My boyfriend politely declines, to which the worker scoffs and becomes condescending and judgemental. I understand that the donation would be for a good cause, but as we are both students it’s not like we can donate each time we’re asked to. We left feeling villainised. I love typo and its products. However, I’m unsure as to whether I wish to return if I will be judged.

Absolutely ridiculous

Absolutely ridiculous, I bought a water bottle at 20 pounds expecting it to last and the first day it topples over and the lid cracks and it leaks, I emailed the customer service thinking they would help but no. They said I need to go to the shop to get it checked. I told them my closest shop was 40 minutes away and didn't want to go that far for a water bottle. I asked if they could send me a new lid as that's the part that leaks but they said the only way to sort it was to go to the shop as they need to see if the product was actualy damaged! I literally sent them pictures of the damage in the first email. RIDICULOUS

Been buying from Typo for YEARS

Been buying from Typo for YEARS - I don't know who YOU are, but you are NOT them. All these new fidgetey selections like 'select what you're buying now' :/ never seen that before. Then i couldn't make the website work on my phone; every time i tried to remove items from my bag, it would just keep on sending me to the product page. Then on top of all that, once i got a shopping bag sorted FINALLY after opening the site on my computer, 'Deliver to Store' was NOT an option. Something was definitely off and i came to realise that i was on a completely separate site to the one i've always been using. My shopping bag is empty on the other one so either some scumbag is posing as Typo or some scumbag has been recently hired to work their site. Either way, i'm VERY pleased that i didn't process my payment yet.

What an absolute joke

What an absolute joke. I ordered items which havent arrived yet and after the order was placed everything went on sale. I asked if I could get the sale price as my items hadn't arrived yet and they said no because it doesn't fall in line with their policy. I told them I would just re-order and return the original one which I have done and they seemed fine with that....

So I am getting the discount anyway? Do you not want to make life easier. Pathetic

Why fix what was not broken?

I have bought Typo weekly A5 diaries for 6 years, as I like to be able to see my whole week at a glance over a double A5 spread.
This year however, the entire week is on the left hand side ie. 1 A5 page for an entire week - which only leaves 3 lines per day - certainly not enough space for a full day's appointments.
Also, the day/date information is printed in a small font and light ink, which makes it much more difficult to quickly and easily locate the day you're looking for without glasses.
The entire right hand page is blank, which I feel is an unnecessarily large allocation of space, given that the purpose of the diary is for planning rather than as a journal.
There are also far fewer blank pages for notes at the end of the diary, which is very disappointing.

The older formats where the week was spread across 2 A5 pages, with an extra blank page at the end of every month was SO much more practical.
I truly hope next year Typo revert to the format from years gone by.

They lost my order and didn’t even…

They lost my order and didn’t even inform me, sent me rate the product I never received,tried to contact them after informing me the parcel was lost in transit and then send me automatic respond that cause of no contact they closed the case(even I sent them e mail straight away and they closed case without informing me about any refund)

Significant decline in quality

I’ve purchased Typo diaries for many years due to their consistently high quality. However, the 2026 diaries are a significant step down. The cover feels less durable, the paper is thinner, and there are fewer pages at the front and back, which previously added to the diary’s charm. Sadly, this has put me off purchasing again.

Customer service is not good…

Customer service is not good…. Waited on hold for 20 minutes for an ai voice to hang up on me and tell me to visit the website…. No details of shipping on my parcel and past eta. Not a single update on shipping, no help from customer service, kind, but unhelpful.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service! My order has not arrived and Evri who marked the item as delivered following me chasing it up as was stuck in delivery depot awaiting delivery! How convenient!!! I spent 6 and half hours waiting on live chat with cotton on for someone to respond even though it said wait time 6-11 minutes what they actually mean is 6-11 hours! Attempted to call on their telephone number on hold 22 minutes for an automated message saying basically they are pulling phone line as too busy!!! To be told we will send you an email reply to that tomorrow if goods still have not arrived - obviously 🙄 they not going to, anyway replied to email as goods not arrived and nothing no reply! It’s totally unacceptable and appalling customer service they should be ashamed! Be warned all read reviews before ordering as looks like I am not the only one in this situation!!

Amazing

Ordered several items back in September…

Ordered several items back in September for Christmas gifts. After 2 weeks of waiting, I chased an update for my order only to discover it had been damaged in transit (Evri) and nothing could be delivered. I was refunded after a lot of back and forth with the clunky chat bot. Typo never alerted me to the issue with the package.

customer service non-existant

tried to contact customer service online - waited nearly 2 hours and still being advised "someone will be with you in 15-31 minutes, 8 people a head of you". Their phone number is disabled and tells you that they've switched this off to allow for 24/7 support online.

No one bothered with getting this sorted. never buying anything from this company again. shocking!

SHAME ON YOU TYPO

My daughter went to the typo shop in Meadowhall Sheffield, there was a sign outside saying spend £25 and get a free gift, her being her spend £30 and when she asked for the free gift the assistant said sorry we ran out the other day!! Why put the sign back out then if you ran out days ago? Great tactic to get people to spend more than what they normally would. SHAME ON YOU for taking advantage. For this reason alone I will never shop there again after what they have done to my daughter and have strongly advised her not to.

Wasted £35 :(

Ordered two bowls as Christmas presents and clicked the Apple Pay button before realising my old address was saved to my Apple Pay. Heard the ‘du-ding!’ before I could do anything.

I’ve since spoken to two Typo/Cotton On livechat advisors and one phone advisor who have all been unable to help me change the address. They tell me to go to Evri who I then can only speak to AI assistants who tell me to change the address with the sender. Unfortunately due to this, I’ve just wasted £35 with no hope of a refund or to receive the item.

Just to note, all the advisors were very nice, it’s just Typo/Cotton On’s overall policies that are completely unhelpful. In short, beware when ordering that once you’ve confirmed payment, you won’t be able to get your money back if there’s any issues.

Great experience

Not sure why there are such terrible reviews. I had a positive experience. I was a little worried by the reviews, but still went ahead and ordered. Ordered 3 rolls of wrapping paper, a bauble and a polly pocket candle. Ordered on Tuesday, they shipped it Wednesday, it arrived on Friday. The candle smells amazing and was really well packaged. The bauble was super sturdy and the wrapping paper was exactly as advertised, although can't say how thick it was, as it's for Christmas. But everything was really good quality.

Fab!

Needed a 2 litre water bottle so I could start taking creatine. One came up on typo, ordered it without thinking. Absolutely fab bottle, great quality, easy to keep clean and absolute bargain price, managed to get it for £10.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. I've been unable to make an order for the last month and something wrong with my account. I've reported to customer support, and they seem to cant sort the issue out. Been sent to higher team still nothing. And im getting messages every week asking if the issue is still happening, of course it is they never sorted it out. I completely gave up on this company i wont be begging them to sort the issue out so i can give them money. Worst company ever!!

Deceptive and misleading

Typo is owned by Cotton On. Bought some socks from a Typo store today. After I got home and checked on their website to see what else they had, I noticed the price of the socks I bought was cheaper online. Tried calling the store MANY TIMES to arrange for the refund but no one answered the phone. I emailed the customer service team thinking they would just refund the difference? No, I received excuses “There is often a difference between our in-store and online promotions, and unfortunately, not all online prices are matched in store. In some cases, an item may be on sale online but remain full price in store due to stock differences and specific promotional allocations. These offers are applied to selected stock only and are subject to availability.” The socks are all available for pick up from the store I visited. It’s totally misleading and deceptive. I will lodge a complaint with the commerce commission out of principle after I get my charge back from Visa so that they will stop ripping off consumers. Never buy anything from this group.
