Toerboer Travel provided us with a unique tailored experience of South Africa. We got to see places that we could not discover on our own and were looked after in a caring way during the journey.

Sya & Lize worst people do deal with, we had booked our dream holiday for 2024 but this did not happen!
They refused to refund us, after happening to us, have been in contact with many people on FB who money had also been taken
Toerbroers have blocked me and friends on all social media platforms
They also do not respond to any negative comments on Hello Peter or FB

They have Blacklisted me for over R90k for a holiday we did not even do, and money we lost to them
This has affected my credit score enormously and SYA refuses to correct this, they threatened me with Lawyers if I pursue to Name & Shame!

Think very carefully before using them as your travel agency

I cannot think of a better way to start a holiday. Dawid is simply a fantastic host. He met us, took us to the magical camping site on the Sundays River, together with Enver, his co-host. A delicious dinner/meat braai was cooked on the fire, together with a Vegan dish for my partner. The view, the river, the company was just fantastic. I haven’t camped since I was a kid, and this was just done properly, with all necessary facilities and amenities, off the beaten track but only 10km out of Graaf Reinet, allowing us to visit the Valley of Desolation & other sight seeing wonders in the area

As someone who was born and bred in the Karoo and who has climbed my fair share of mountains in the area over the past four decades, I was blown away by the uniqueness of this challenge. All three mountains deserve a spot on your bucket list, though I must confess I am hopelessly obsessed with Kompasberg, which now has a permanent spot on my New Year's resolution list!

Beautiful and unforgettable three-day hike. Each mountain is unique and challenging in its own way. Definitely an experience I’ll never forget! Highly recommended to anyone who loves hiking.

The Karoo 3 Peaks Challenge (Toorberg, Nardousberg and Compassberg) was a truly amazing adventure. Dawid Die Toerboer led the way and literally did not leave a stone unturned when it came to looking after the hikers. Always checking how we were coping and kindly reminding us that most people underestimate their own abilities. The accommodation was well chosen and comfortable and the thoughtful treats after the strenuous days of hiking were such a surprise. Filter coffee with condensed milk (and rum for the brave), banana bread or rusks and even ice cold face towels for relief from the heat.
Our names are now logged into the little book at the top of Compassberg on day 3 and we can forever be reminded of these achievements by the memories we captured on photographs and through the friends we have made. Thank you Toerboer!

I joined Dawid on the Three Peak Challenge on 20 to 22 October 2023.
It was a wonderful and challenging three days. We started the adventure hiking up Toorberg, then Nardousberg and finally Compassberg.
Dawid was an excellent host and knows the area well.
The accommodation was of high standard and refreshments offered was perfect. We enjoyed the whole experience thoroughly.
I can recommend Toerboer to anyone who is looking for a true Karoo adventure.

Dawid enabled us to create the most magical Inventure experience in the Karoo earlier this year. Without his experience, depth of knowledge and wisdom, this would not have been possible. Logistically, he is a master, thinking through each and every detail, paying attention to and considering each aspect of an experience. A comfortable camp set up in the most remote location enabled a reconnection to the natural world, beyond expectation for our guests. The cuisine that he produced in a kitchen under the stars was out of this world. His love and passion for the Karoo is felt not only through his words but presence and way of being. We contacted Dawid to organise a braai in the Valley of Desolation. We were a group of 5 people. He suggested an alternative at sunset and we accepted. The truth is that it was beyond our expectations. They organised an absolutely spectacular dinner set up in the middle of the desert with everything we needed. They prepared cocktails for us before sunset and organised a dinner whose main course was lamb cooked on the spot, which I describe as spectacular, as well as salads and other dishes. We spent some very pleasant hours in that place accompanied by the very friendly Lexy and the efficient Daniel, who organised the whole set-up. Fantastic people, very pleasant to deal with and with whom I would organise anything again. The relationship with Dawid to organise everything via e-mail was unbeatable. We will never forget that night in the desert.

Our trip with Dawid was the highlight of our three week trip around South Africa. He took us hiking and camping in the beautiful Karoo. He was incredibly knowledgeable, interesting and took us to places we would never have seen and found on our own. The food, wine and his own rum were also amazing. We'd thoroughly recommend and will be doing another adventure with Dawid when we return to South Africa

We were on the road in South Africa for three weeks, it was an experience we like to remember today as well as in the future. The carefree trip started from the airport in Johannesburg and ended with the departure back home. It was an all-round feel-good package that we got from Dawid. Everything worked out from the first second on. We got adventure, relaxation and family time, with Dawid as our travel companion we always felt comfortable and in good hands. We can highly recommend him when planning a trip to Africa. As a customer you get what you expect and more!

This trip was an amazing opportunity to share experiences and wishes I didn't know I wanted. The activity and excursions in the package composed by Dawid of Toerboer will forever be the best of times.
The experiences were unforgettable. The organization, execution and partnership with local guides, vendors and accommodation hosts, resorts was very well executed. Dawid loves Africa and wants you to love it too. This is his passion and when you travel with his guidance you experience it. I highly recommend Dawid for your tour of Africa.

Dawid had some challenges because we wanted to see a lot in South Africa, but the travel times could not be too long. Traveling with children is always a special challenge. Dawid solved everything excellently. He was our driver, guide, friend and in between also our cook. We were in the very best hands.

It was a great trip and I would recommend anyone looking for an individual travel package to do such a trip with Toerboer!

What better way to celebrate a milestone birthday than to travel to Southern Africa with family and friends! This was our second time enlisting the expert assistance of Dawid DeWet for our travel to Southern Africa. On both occasions Dawid put together beautiful, life-changing itineraries. Our first trip involved the opportunity to volunteer at some wildlife orphanages and community-based organizations. This was an incredible way to experience South Africa. During our most recent trip we visited the most spectacular places in Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbawe. Dawid planned a 4-day camping experience in the Okavango Delta for our group of 15 which was incredible! It has been wonderful to travel with a guide who loves the region so much. I highly recommend Toerboer Travel for your next Southern Africa trip!

My mother had a trip to South Africa on her bucket list, and asked me to plan it. The accommodations needed to be nice, for sure. But as a family (My husband, me, and my mom) we love to learn about the places we go, and have more unique experiences that can’t be found by looking on the internet. We also want our travel dollars to be exit the environment and locals in some way. Dawid of Toerboer was recommended to me by another ethically-minded travel professional, and I’m so glad he was. He crafted an epic two-week journey that my mom will talk about for the next decade. We saw all the wild animals on safari at a beautiful eco-lodge, are delicious food he cooked over the fire, got to jam with artists in the interior, volunteered on game-management drives, and generally had an amazing time. Dawid, as a tenth-generation Afrikaner, clearly loves and cares for his country and all its people, and answered all our many many questions with nuance and thoughtfulness. We are all very grateful for his guidance, attentiveness, and patience for us weirdos and Africa noobs.
