Time For Tea Companions is a small, independent companionship service supporting older people and those living with dementia or frailty to feel safer, happier and more connected in everyday life. We carefully match each client with a friendly, reliable companion or personal assistant, focusing on continuity, kindness and a calm, respectful approach. Our visits are centred around what matters to you. That might be a cup of tea and a chat, gentle encouragement to get out and about, support to attend local groups, or help to keep on top of day-to-day tasks. We can also support with light tidying and organising, meal companionship, shopping support, prompts and routines, and accompanied outings to appointments or community activities (where appropriate). For people living with memory loss, we aim to reduce anxiety and build confidence through familiar routines, patient communication and meaningful conversation. We work alongside families and carers, offering reassurance and practical help while supporting independence at home for as long as possible. If you’re not sure what type of support is needed, we’re happy to talk it through and suggest a plan that feels comfortable, flexible and tailored to the individual. Clara is a great companion for Rob. She takes him to the gym and is able to converse with others on his behalf whilst motivating him at the same time. This is helping with his coordination and stamina.

I’m incredibly grateful for the wonderful support my mum receives with her day-to-day care. Their kindness, patience, and genuine warmth make such a difference—not only to her wellbeing, but to our whole family’s peace of mind.
They go above and beyond in the little things, whether it’s sharing a conversation, helping with daily routines, or simply being a reassuring presence. It’s clear they truly care, and they treat my mum with dignity, respect and compassion at all times.
Knowing she is in such capable and thoughtful hands is a huge comfort. I can’t thank them enough for the positivity and support they bring into her life every single day.

Such a great service. Rebecca who runs it is so kind and caring with my mother and takes her out on trips as well as food shopping. Has made such a difference for her to have good company and get out of the house. Would highly recommend
