I’m very disappointed with the service I received from Thompson Silstar. I contacted them expecting support under a “no win, no fee” arrangement, but they informed me at the last minute that they could not proceed. This left me feeling let down and without enough time to find alternative legal help. and they try to charge me.

Clear communication from the beginning would have made a big difference. Unfortunately, my experience was frustrating and stressful, and I cannot recommend their service based on how my case was handled.

Very helpful, especially Sara. There was an early error (wrong name pasted into a document) but after that everything went smoothly. The only real issue was a staff member going on holiday at as crucial time and no-one dealing with her work. Very friendly & still highly recommended

Based on my experience, Laura has been doing our conveyancing process has been extremely frustrating. Communication was very slow, updates were difficult to obtain, and overall the service fell far below expectations. I would not personally recommend Thomas Legal.

We had quite a complex situation with a house split half in trust with the house still occupied by a cousin. The situation required litigation solicitors to also be involved, Thomas Legal were fantastic and very professional throughout. They gave us information that enabled us to force the sale quicker. I only wish we could review our so called family as she’d get 1 star!!

We recently remortgaged our house. Having obtained several quotations from solicitors for the conveyancing, I provisionally accepted the quotation from Thomas (TBD) Legal based on a recommendation to them and their sister company, Equilaw, from a professional in the business whom I trust. The fees quoted were average.

Early pre-contract dealings with the firm were unimpressive. In the introductory letter from the Head of Remortgaging we were asked to hand over nearly £400 for searches, even though these searches were not necessary, and were misguided regarding the whereabouts of the deeds to the property. Worse than this, despite the statement from this person that we should not hesitate to contact them with any queries or concerns, when I did raise a concern I received no reply. The reason for mentioning these things is that if you do not have a good understanding of the remortgaging process or do not have a competent person looking after your affairs I would recommend considering an alternative to Thomas Legal.

However, my wife and I both having professional backgrounds in law and the legal process (though not conveyancing), I was sure I would be able to manage this kind of problem and we trusted the recommendation previously noted. So once we had received our mortgage offer I formally went to contract with Thomas Legal. I'm glad that I did. Our affairs were immediately placed in the hands of a brilliant Senior Legal Assistant (Mia), and throughout the process she was superb in efficiency, professionalism, accuracy and speed of response.

Another plus point is that when we received the final bill from Thomas Legal it was within a gnat's whisker of the quotation we were originally given. This is a real headache when choosing your solicitor, because in many cases you cannot be sure what has been included in the quotation and what has been left out.

Very quick efficient and professional. We completed on our house within 8 weeks! Thank you to our amazing solicitor Margo who made this all happen. Highly recommend

Thomas Legal did not seem to be familiar with dealing with a probate sale. A lot of time was wasted dealing with a charge against the property because they didn’t understand that the executors, who were selling the house, were not the mortgage account holders.
The person responsible for our transaction was a Chartered Legal Executive (Stacey Ballinger). Her only direct involvement in the transaction was to make the ‘phone call to exchange contracts; other communications were with her assistant (who did not have a legal qualification). Stacey told me that she would check and approve anything drafted by her assistant but there were serious errors on documents sent to us.
Dealing with a qualified person does not guarantee an efficient service but anyone using Thomas Legal should be aware that most of the conveyancing work may be done by someone without relevant qualifications.

Thomas Legal were a very efficient and proficient company and offered us a high level of customer service. Their staff were very contactable and always helpful and knowledgeable. They carried out three sale and purchase transactions for us within a year and each was done extremely well. We had complete peace of mind and confidence in them.

What would we have done without Thomas Legal!?

After 10 long painful months we have finally completed on our dream home. Thomas Legal have been absolutely fantastic throughout what has been an incredibly stressful process.
They have been efficient and kept us informed at all stages. At times their proactive approach to conveyancing has left our vendors solicitors looking unorganised and behind the times.

I really cannot recommend Candice Rumble and Ellie Pritchard enough. If you are looking for a conveyancing firm/Solicitors who put the client first then these are the people you need to go too.

I am so grateful for everything you have both done to make this happen for us and i will be signing your praises to everyone.

We have had great service from the team with our remortgage process & they were particularly helpful resolving an issue with a Land Registry delay caused by another company we were using at the time. We found the Thomas Legal phone app very useful and easy to use too. I would certainly recommend TL if you want to be confident that your transaction will be handled professionally.
