Mixed experience at Rolleston store
Today 08/04/26 I went to the Rolleston store to return a veon 40" tv that I purchased on 28/02/26. On Friday 03 April out of nowhere the talk back function came on, but only on tv3. There is no setting on this tv for talk back, interesting! I went to customer service and had to explain the problem 3 times to 3 different people. None of them had any idea what was going on. I was told that they would have to send it away to be looked at and this could take some time. For a tv costing $338 I can not see that this can be cost effective, unless the technician is in the local area. I told these staff members that they could keep the tv, I don't want it. I went around to the tech area and picked up another new tv and took it to the self checkout to buy it. The lovely young lady there said not to buy it just yet and went to see the customer service people. The young security officer also did the same after I explained the issue to him. When they returned nothing had changed, so I purchased another tv. I have worked in retail for 25 years and I have never seen customer service so very poor in my work place. The customer service people were just crap and need to be trained on how to look after and respect the customers who pay their wages. The young lady at self checkout and the security guard did a great job, so I thank them for that
Don’t purchase phones from The Warehouse
I bought a phone from The Warehouse a few months back, with extended insurance cover. About 2 weeks ago I took the phone in and was provided with different information regarding my cover. When I initially bought the phone the sales person told me that if I have any issues to bring it back and I will be given a new phone. Well, that is not what happened, the phone must first be assessed by Samsung and depending on their outcome then the customer will know. Two weeks have gone by and still no phone. My advice, DONT buy phones from The Warehouse because their insurance stinks!

Better off going to Kmart
The warehouse say that they have it on stock but they never do and they don't even bother to look they say to me to go to a different warehouse and they have the same problem. customer service needs work on. There products are low for a reason because its and there online website is terrible. DO NOT GO! go to Kmart instead or famers they are way better they actually help even if it says its out of stock.

They waste time buying online
They waste time buying online. Says they have stock at a specific store so I paid for stuff then get an email saying no stock I have to wait 5 day's now. If they'd just said online there's no stock at the specific store I could of arranged to pick up from a different store.
Very poor customer service
My daughter had a passport photo taken at The Warehouse Stationery at Sylvia Park Shopping Centre, Auckland and unfortunately the customer service was extremely disappointing.
The two staff members were quite miserable and surly. We were told the photo would be emailed to me, but after 48 hours I still hadn’t received anything. I had to ring twice to follow up, spelling out my email address both times, and still nothing came through. I then went through the switchboard and was told they would look into it — yet here I am, five days later, still waiting. Very poor communication and follow-up.
In complete contrast, I visited The Warehouse Taupō and they couldn’t have been more helpful. They did the passport photo free of charge and had it all sorted within 10 minutes. Absolutely great service.
Perhaps the Auckland store could take some customer service training from the Taupō team.
Quality is below par
Quality is below par. Clothes, kitchenware, bedding electric. Nothing I have bought is worth the dollars I spend. I'm disappointed it is a New Zealand brand. When did NZ quality drop to non existent.

Nearly every warehouse I have been in the staff are rude , unfriendly and couldn't give a toss.
Today's experience in the kaikohe warehouse was the worst I've encountered yet.
The guy who was asked to help me by another staff member was highly annoyed by having to help me and couldn't hide his annoyance.
As an older person asking for help to lift a furniture item I felt intimidated.
Once the item was put on the low trolly he left me to it.
I wheeled it to the front of the shop and in front of a male staff member who was banging on to a female staff member I lifted the package which was heavy for a woman, into a normal trolly so I could transfer it into my car.
I'll never shop there again! Never once was I offered help!
Warehouse purchase online
I placed an online order through The Warehouse app, however I still haven’t received the item. I have sent several emails asking for an update, but unfortunately I haven’t received any response so far.
This lack of communication is disappointing, as I expected better customer service. I hope this issue can be resolved soon.
Warehouse Botany
Warehouse Botany. I had seen the Chair I wanted. Headed on down to area. Where I asked a worker had they any of them she looked up on her ph. "Oh yes they are up the front" I thought oh no there not. Duly plodded up to the front. Asked another staff "NO" went and spoke to the lovely, helpful lady on the Return Desk. She looked it up called a young Guy who went and got one. Paid. Left with the chair in Trolley also the young Guy who managed to get it in for me. I cant praise the last 2 employees enough. As for the lazy, lying woman I got in the furniture Dept. I wont say anymore. I am 81 years old cant walk very far, mores the pity. Josie

Rolleston Angry Julie Security was excessively rude and aggressive in tone in stance .i am a 60 year old local business woman I was at checkout with my tiny dog in my arms when Julie head of security aggressively approached me yelling” Get out now “ Dogs aren’t allowed “ I didn’t know this so I said I’m sorry I didn’t know we were just leaving .Julie demanded “ Get out , Get out now or I will have you removed “ At this stage I was moving to leave and saying I am clearly leaving .please don’t yell at me aggressively . She said you aren’t moving fast enough while about to man handle me ! Julie’s stance and tone were excessively aggressive embarrassing distressing to me. I agree I learnt small dogs in my arms aren’t allowed and was happy to leave . Julie needs training and supervision for her excessive aggression . A simple I’m sorry dogs aren’t allowed would of been appropriate
11 yr old buys game for his new ps5…
11 yr old buys game for his new ps5 that we collected at same time at rolleston warehouse with his Xmas money. On ad for ps5 fortnight edition there was no mention that it was diskless in ad. So when we got home it wouldn't play his game. Took it back only to be treated poorly and smugly by manager who couldn't care less. Even told me there policy superseded the consumer guarantees act which is lie. Then stated bring back proof of purchase of c0nsole which we did only to be laughed at treated poorly and told to go get out of store and followed by her smiling and laughing. She was rude,wrong and had no Xmas care for 11 or old boy. Shame on u rolleston warehouse manager

I PURCHASED two shower cloves ....they were not cheap and when they arrived I was disappointed....If I had seen them in store I would never have purchased....The Warehouse Marketplace is not a site I will view again or buy off....I highly recommend you buy install and not the Warehouse on line store

My online order of Friday stated few items would be ready for collection 6pm Friday evening from the store I choose..Botany..its Sunday and still in progress....WHY stipulate same day collection if not possible....seriously get your act together

I have multiple issues with The Warehouse. They are absolutely unapologetic for bad service, faulty products or answering any queries through email.
I can see why people are not buying from the Warehouse like days of old. In poetic language... they suck.

Failed delivery twice of the same purchase. I bought a 110L plastic storage bin. When it was delivered the lid was badly cracked. They sent a replacement, which tracking showed wouldn't be delivered because the second one had been damaged by the delivery driver too. After two failures I asked for a refund of $27.00. They said the refund would take up to 5 days. Why, in this age of instantaneous electronic tranactions does a refund take 5 days? They never offered a voucher or whatever as compensation for two failed deliveries, so I asked for some compensation. And they begrudgingly offered me a $10.00 online voucher after asking, which I thought a little insulting. I had probably spent at least $1500.00 in the last 12 months purchasing online at The Warehouse. Never again! Failed delivery & lousy customer service! Don't go there!
Disappointing Experience at The Warehouse Oamaru: Rude and Unprofessional Staff
My recent visit to The Warehouse in Oamaru left me incredibly disappointed due to the behaviour of a checkout clerk. After placing my items on the counter and putting the shopping basket underneath, the staff member asked for the basket. Since she had already started scanning my items, I was focused on packing my bags and acknowledged her request with a nod and a hum.
She then demanded in a firm tone, “Give me the basket, sir! … Or don’t you speak English?” I found this remark unnecessary and rude, and I told her so. She insisted it wasn’t rude and that her comment was justified.
After completing the transaction, she didn’t ask if I wanted a receipt or offer one. Instead, she immediately began complaining to the next customer about “this guy” and claimed her remark was normal. The next customer even pointed out that it was inappropriate to speak about a previous customer that way, but she didn’t seem to care.
Before she could start ringing up the next customer’s items, I politely asked for my receipt and left the store, for the last time. I won’t be returning to The Warehouse in Oamaru after this experience.
