We have often loved a holiday and vowed that "we will return". Sadly for one reason or other this does not usually happen. However, after a gap of a good few years, we fulfilled a promise to ourselves, and spent another wonderful family holiday back at Villa Katrina.
Everything was as we remembered and we settled in immediately. It's a really wonderful Villa with plenty of space and excellent facilities throughout.

In our absence, Ubers are now operating in the area which made a huge difference in the evenings (and I no longer had to be the designated driver!)

As always, The Villa Agency were easy and professional throughout and I cannot imagine booking a Villa holiday with anyone else.

Beautiful villa, great team, very responsive, very friendly - this was our second time and hopefully not the last.

We had a great time in the villa, it was as described and very clean and tidy. Communication throughout was great and we did have a slight issue with the pool not been fenced off but it was sorted the next day so no major problem.

An absolutely stunning property, as far as space, decor and amenities it is a 10/10, everything you could ever want in a vacation property. The outdoor spaces are gorgeous and never stop, right out of a home and garden magazine. The property people next door are incredibly friendly and responsive. If beauty and an authentic Portugal experience were the only criteria, this place is perfect.

What stops it from being a five star?:

No laundry that you can access yourself, guest book has same complaints from previous customers, this place and its cost is just way to high end to not allow you to ise the laundry machine they keep locked in site.

Pool is beautiful but very chilly, it is in and out, no floating around in this beauty, 70 degrees no matter how hot it is outside, we were there in august when very hot!

Air conditioning, it works but just barely keeps up which is fine but they absolutely must have fans in every room, no exceptions, no excuses, it can get very still and clammy when sleeping, again, just does not fit with the high end type of property that it is.

Beds, again, for this type of money, invest in comfortable beds, we have rented dozens of short term rentals, the ones that get it invest in practical things like comfortable beds! The 2nd and 3rd beds were particularly hard.

Fantastic holiday with the Villa Agency. Beautiful villa in Portugal, the local property manager (Lisa) was absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and she was constantly available for any issues. They were also much cheaper than Vrbo for the same property. Will definitely use them again.

We recently stayed at Villa La Fabríca in San Agustin, Ibiza from Saturday 28th June to Wednesday 2nd July to celebrate my mum’s 50th birthday, which we booked through The Villa Agency. There were eight of us in total, all women, and we had been so excited for a relaxing and luxurious stay – and in many ways, the villa itself lived up to all our expectations and more.

The property is absolutely stunning – clean, spacious, well-equipped, and beautifully designed for group stays. The outdoor area was perfect for lounging by the pool, sharing meals, and soaking in the Ibiza sun. We truly had an incredible time for most of our trip and created memories that we’ll cherish forever.

However, we did experience some serious issues that left us feeling quite unsettled – particularly around safety and security.

Upon arrival, the villa manager Emilie informed us that, due to a rise in break-ins and burglaries in the area, we needed to let her know anytime we were leaving the property so that private security could be dispatched to monitor the villa while we were away. While this was somewhat reassuring, it also made us feel uneasy, especially as this risk had not been disclosed before booking. Given the remote location, the fact that we were a group of women staying alone, and the villa being situated on an unnamed road (making it difficult for taxis or emergency services to find), it’s something we would have wanted to know beforehand.

Unfortunately, on our final night (Tuesday 1st July), something happened that left us truly shaken. At around 12:15am, one of our guests was woken by noises on her balcony. When she pulled back the curtain, she was confronted by two young men with baseball caps and torches trying to break in through the balcony doors. They ran off when they saw her, but it was a terrifying experience. We immediately locked all doors and windows and called Emilie, who was less than helpful. She told us that security could only come when we were out of the villa – not while we were inside – and also said we couldn’t use the alarm system when staying in. This seems baffling in itself because surely the priority should be to have security available for your guests to ensure their safety, not just the safety of the building when the actual people staying there are out? When we asked if we should call the police, she discouraged us from doing so, saying they wouldn’t be able to help. Her suggestion was simply to go to bed and keep everything locked.

While we understand that no property can be 100% immune to crime, what’s most disappointing is the lack of transparency around the security risks and the dismissive attitude of the villa management. Safety should always come first, and guests deserve to be properly informed – especially in isolated locations. It’s also unacceptable that there seemed to be no emergency plan or adequate support in place.

To be clear – this review isn’t to discourage others from staying here entirely. The villa itself is gorgeous and we had a wonderful few days. But future guests deserve to be made aware of the risks beforehand so they can make an informed decision and feel supported if something goes wrong.

We truly wish the management had handled the situation with more care and professionalism, and that there were better safety precautions and security in place for the actual villa itself.

Booked a beautiful villa in Portugal for 9 nights through The Villa Agency and from the start we’ve been incredibly impressed with their service. Booking was straightforward and uncomplicated and the communication from Ginnie and Amanda couldn’t be faulted. They provided us with lots of useful information and advice, and queries were answered promptly and politely.
We adored our villa, the photos of it on the website - whilst enticing and lovely - simply couldn’t have done justice to the peace & tranquility of it, plus the serenity of the surroundings and utterly stunning views couldn’t be adequately shown on a photograph. It was truly magical. Those sunsets wow!!
The villa was huge & everything needed for a chilled holiday was available. The local manager Lisa was extremely helpful when contacted - not for any problems just to ask a question. I mentioned just in passing that we had no baking tray but had used an oven proof dish instead and the next day Fernanda the darling cleaner turned up with a brand new tray!! Little things like that make such a difference.
We lived in and beside the pool and never wanted to leave. So glad we found this company and thank you all again for helping to make our 1st visit to Portugal an unforgettable one. We would definitely recommend and use again

They contacted the villa owner and got it on their books at a lower rate.
