Scott, Mary and the team are exactly what you want. Hardworking, respectful, creative and thoughtful in planning and have made such a difference to the garden. The results speak for themselves. and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a exemplary and talented gardening team.

We have used this company on several occasions to undertake design and creation of both front and back gardens. This included the building of hard structures as well as the landscaping. Since the creation of these features they have on request come in to do preparation work for winter and spring. The whole team are highly professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I cannot recommend The Southwest London Gardener enough. They have done work for friends and now for me. Their love of plants and care in seeing the particular features of my garden are impressive. Friendly and professional taking great care to tidy up made it a pleasure to have them do the work. The result is most satisfying.

We highly recommend Scott, Mary and team. We have a small central London garden and terrace. We wanted to build on its potential but it desperately needed professional help. Scott and Mary were fantastic from start to finish. They listened carefully to our vision and needs and built this into the plan. They constantly checked in, adapted as needed and the final result is lovely, exceeding our expectations. In addition to being true experts and professionals, they're great communicators and very responsive. Plus, incredibly respectful and clean as they conduct the work - which in a terrace house with no direct garden access is no easy task. Although it is a sideshow to the actual business of gardening, the fact that they are so considerate around ensuring no mud in the house, closing doors to keep the cold air out, makes a huge difference and leaves you with a really positive impression. My neighbours said the same thing

Firstly they do what they say they’re going to do. They’re knowledgable and care about my garden. Thoroughly pleasant to deal with too.

The south-west London gardeners help me twice a year, at the beginning and end of the summer season. They always do a fantastic job tidying up the garden and getting it ready for the next season. I’m always so impressed with the huge changes they are able to make in a short space of time. They are also really helpful if you have any questions about the garden or need any advice. They are extremely professional and friendly and I feel very lucky to have found them.

We've just had the most fabulous experience with the South West London Gardener. Scott, Mary and the team were just a joy to deal with from start to finish. From the initial quote to the last email, every message was replied to promptly and with courtesy, advice given in a knowledgeable, understanding way, and their approach to the work was fantastic. Our garden and new shed look great. They worked incredibly hard in all weathers (some sunshine, lots and lots of heavy rain) and took down trees, dismantled an old shed, rebuilt fences, and did a lot of pruning and planting, including liaising with TfL who manage the train line behind. They were the neatest and tidiest people we've ever had work on the house and garden (including when removing all the waste, which had to go through the house), and were very user friendly, letting us know when they'd be arriving and departing each day. I honestly can't recommend them enough!

Scott and David first took time to listen so carefully to what we wanted, not making us feel rushed and taking all of our requests and hopes seriously. They provided a clear quote within days of coming, and then arranged a date to begin work, all of which they stuck to. Scott, David and Mary then worked tirelessly, through even awful weather, to return a very loved (but neglected and complex) space into a tranquil, beautiful, nature-sensitive oasis.
This included removal of huge amounts of garden waste, which they had to do through our flat, and this too was done carefully and thoughtfully. Every detail of work was completed to the highest standard and with care, skill and consideration.
The entire team were just a joy to work with. The creativity, warmth and kindness they show, as well as the skill and craftsmanship with which they work, make them stand out to us as one of the best companies we have ever worked with; we won’t hesitate to use them again and again, and to recommend them widely.

We have used this excellent company on several occasions. During the recent storm the felting on the roof our garden shed was ripped off and immediately rainwater started entering the shed. Although it was not a working day Scott and Mary attended promptly and enveloped the shed in a large tarpaulin. A few days later the team returned and re-felted the roof and fitted new securing battens. The finished job was excellent.
We can highly recommend this company for their professionalism and skills in all aspects of landscaping and garden structures.

Scott and the team (Hetty and Mary) visited our garden and discussed our ideas and made some great suggestions. We were very impressed with their work and attention of protecting our house when walking through with tools and plants. We were very pleased with the original work and invited them back to prune and make the garden ‘winter ready’. The design has really allowed the light to come into the garden making it a great space again. Highly recommended.

Scott, Mary and the team were asked to replace our fence, put in a summer house and spruce up our flower beds. They were clear from the outset as to what their plans were and were very easy to communicate with - great ethos to work in a sustainable manner as much as possible. The team were diligent and work was completed efficiently and to a high quality.

We found Scott during a Google search and decided to reach out to him after reading some very favourable reviews. Scott put us at ease as soon as we met him - he seemed genuinely interested in our project and keen to help. He also took the time to chat to our daughters, as he knew that their input was important as well - a true indication of how caring and considerate he is. When we later got a puppy, Scott was also sure to factor her needs in...

When the work started, we quickly realised Scott only used extremely polite and engaging staff to work alongside - each employee has been a joy to have in & out of our house.

Once the initial clearance was done, we kept in contact and he would check in periodically, often over a cup of coffee and contemplating the aspects of the garden that worked for us. He took the time to listen to our views and was always pragmatic in his approach.

When we were ready to move onto the next steps, we talked at length about the project, and Scott made many notes and asked for a few days to digest everything we spoke about. His resulting drawings and project plans encapsulated extremely well what we had discussed, with a couple of suggestions from him based on his musings and knowledge of our garden (soil type, aspect, features etc.).

As we were embarking on various different projects (garden/garden room/remodelling inside the house) it was imperative that all three teams involved were able to liaise with each other. We set up a meeting for all parties and found each group was willing to work alongside each other in a measured, considerate way. While main decisions were made with each contractor, we set up an email group for communication purposes. Scott in particular, as the man 'in the middle' between the house and the garden room, was extremely good at communicating some of the key dates, deliveries, measurements etc.

While much of the garden work in these stages was clearance and preparation, Scott stressed that we should wait until the garden room was finished before making detailed plans, knowing full well that the 'feel' of our space would change once that was completed. It is this patience that I believe sets him apart from others who may choose to wow you with their vision (product placements/plant selections) at an earlier stage.

When the garden room was nearly complete, Scott returned for the next stages - the friendly team now also included Mary, Scott's partner. It was quickly apparent that she is a key piece of the Southwest London Gardener jigsaw. Professional, hardworking and extremely talented, yet very unassuming (and an absolute pleasure to have around!).

As the gardening works progressed, we discussed freely each aspect being tackled, and weighed up pros & cons of various planting/direction/material options, Scott & Mary provided much guidance during these stages and really helped us make some key decisions.

We are just so happy with what they have achieved for us. They kept to their timings, kept to budget (where plans changed, reflection on pricing was done swiftly and fairly) and have given us a dream garden which we are looking forward to enjoying and seeing develop over the coming years.

This team were excellent, we are so pleased we used them. They designed and landscaped our garden to a very high quality. Scott and Mary provided great ideas and suggestions which transformed our space. We were able to trust them completely. The entire team were also a pleasure to have around and were so considerate and friendly. We look forward to having them back to help maintain the beautiful garden they created.

Scott, Mary and the team did a fantastic job on a complete redesign and renovation of my garden (lifting of existing paving, replacing fencing, installing a deck and astroturf and planting).
