I used the hypnobirthing pack for both births of my 2 daughters. It no doubt helped me give birth naturally in both occasions with only gas and air. The material leading up to the big day(s) helped me be informed and understand all the decisions I might need to make. The Freya app helped me remain calm, focused and composed throughout all the surges. Both second stages were fast, less than 30-45 minutes, I sustained tears but the breathing techniques for both stages undoubtedly helped me with the fast deliveries. I genuinely believe the pack helped me deliver my girls safely and in the way I wanted…more or less! I am so very grateful for this small business and would recommend them to anyone considering hypnobirthing.

Tried to buy a gift for my friend but the fact I ordered it from this website is making me look like a bad friend. I paid for 1st class delivery and after I was told it shipped on Thursday, it’s now COB Tuesday and I still haven’t received it. What’s worse? I’ve emailed them 3 times to chase it up but no reply and they don’t have a telephone number either. Also when you manage your orders there’s no option for refund. The dashboard has a placeholder for tracking numbers but tracked delivery was not an option at check out. Incredibly frustrating.

Second pregnancy. Second time using Positive Birthing Company's courses. Everything you need to know - antenatal, labour and post-natal is available in their courses. The team are very helpful and quick to respond if you encounter any difficulties accessing the courses.

I’m conflicted with the company as to if I would recommend it or not.
Overall I think it’s informative but not realistic for a lot of mums.
I will say I had two beautiful vaginal births, one in hospital (2022) and one and home both (2024) without intervention. Do I think it’s down to PBC? No. Do I think it was down to my own research and education from different hypnobirthing teachers and midwives? Yes.

All the information I found and paid for in the course I could find for free across different profiles on Instagram, even meditation tracks on Spotify etc - I suppose it’s if you want to pay for everything to be in one place or do the research yourself?

I think what was hugely missing from PBC is the biomechanics of birth, how to move in labour (if you can) and maybe some form of pregnancy yoga incorporated into the course especially for closer towards the end of your pregnancy to help baby get into the best position.

I have used the hypnobirthing course with both of my pregnancies and each time it has been fantastic, such a great resource which educates and empowers! If I recommended one thing to buy when pregnant, it would be the hypnobirthing course!

Because of this course, I went into labour feeling excited and relaxed. I was ready for a natural, beautiful birth. However I completely regret completing the course because I think it set me up for disappointment.

I felt like the course didn't prepare me at all. Trying to use positive language so that you don't think about the 'pain' isn't helpful when you're experiencing something objectively painful.

I wish that the course had helped me to have more trust in my midwives. And I wish it had been more realistic.

Birth is hard and it's out of your control.

And a course won't change that.

I have two sons, 3 and 1, and used PBC for my first pregnancy/birth. I wasn't going to share my thoughts about PBC publicly, but after seeing PBC recently launch a campaign against a midwife who aired similar concerns, I have to share.

I was very down with the PBC ethos during my pregnancy. I loved the idea of validating women's experiences. The breathing techniques, and the messaging to birthing partners was really helpful, and felt practical and empowering.

However, having come through the other side of my two births, and having seen many friends go through the experience, I see that PBC's demonisation of medical intervention is not only unhelpful, but actually harmful. PBC urges you to think about what feels right in “your gut”, and that the natural way is the best way for you and the baby. This is false. There is no evidence that shows hypnobirthing improves outcomes for baby and mum. Biologically, our bodies are not very fit for giving birth, and therefore it's a very difficult thing to do - that's why women/babies use to die in birth historically without medical intervention. PBC claims we can easily do it without intervention (and that in fact medical intervention is a result of us not being natural enough!) - this is just not true.

Following PBC’s demonising module on induction, I felt guilt opting into the induction for my first born, as if my body had somehow failed to do the natural thing. However, it feels important for mums to know that there is an infection risk that rises sharply after waters have broken if induction has not been taken up within 24 hours. This important information should be detailed in PBC if they are going to be offering advice. Similarly, there are protocols based on population size data to keep mum and baby safe. Not only are the PBC not including these stats in their course, but actually claiming the contrary.

I recommended the course to five friends (whilst pregnant), and we all went on to have tricky births. So not only did the course not work (no evidence), but it makes you feel guilty afterwards as if you didn't do the right thing.

I initially understood PBC was about levelling up maternity in the UK; empowering women, birthing partners, and the medical sector - however I now see that PBC is attacking medical professionals and encouraging women to be suspicious of the doctors and midwifes who are looking after them. Wouldn't it be in everyone's interests to support and empower everyone in the sector?

I urge PBC to reflect on where they are taking their "revolution". I also strongly recommend PBC stop deleting comments from mums that have had tough births - this is misleading, toxic, and invalidates women's experiences. I am happy to provide my number and address if PBC want to come and do a focus group with myself and my friends who are concerned about the content of PBC's course. I found the course very educational and informative, I bought the hypnobirthing and postpartum pack and both were filled with useful information. I also have enjoyed the Facebook communities and reading the positive birth stories , it helped keep me calm during pregnancy and labour even when it didn’t go to plan I had the knowledge for the plans to feel informed and in control.

I have purchased this course twice, my 1st child who was born after the first Covid lockdown when no NHS courses were running. Prior to starting the course I didn’t know I had to consent to … well everything really! It seems weird to say that now! I bought it again for my 2nd baby to refresh my memory on the different paid relief methods.

I recommend the course, I went from knowing nothing about the process of labour and birth, to having the birth education I felt I needed and had plenty of methods to help me through the long first stage of labour. I also think it’s important to remember that having these hypnobirthing tools will have little effect on the nature of birth but they can help with dealing with contractions and staying calm when unexpected things happen.

After a negative birth experience with baby 1, I was determined not to have the same the second time round. I bought Siobhan Miller's book (also brill) and studied it religiously before also getting the course, which is similar information in a more easily digestible format. Without going into too much detail, my second birth couldn't have been more different from the first and she arrived perfectly (albeit 10 days late since I also followed Siobhan's advice regarding the "due date myth"), with me needing no additional pain relief or interventions. I look back on the experience with such joy and that's truly down to what I learned on the Positive Birth Company course. If you're pregnant, this should be compulsory!!! Go!!!

So glad me and my husband did this course. It gave me the knowledge and confidence to make my own decisions, which resulted in the most amazing home birth with my first child last year.
Compared to a lot of my friends birth experiences I feel this course made all the difference and I’m so grateful I got to experience birth the way it can be.

I couldn’t recommend the PBC more. The hypnobirthing course made me feel so prepared and empowered in the lead up to my birth. And it supported me in having such a positive, calm labour. Highly recommend, it’s amazing value for money!

Great course, I wish this had been around 10 years ago for my first and second babies. The info is far superior to anything I learned previously and allowed me to advocate for myself and get the birth I wanted. So much so I had an amazing free birth at home. Siobhan and team should be extremely proud of their work!

The Hypnobirthing course I completed changed my birth experiences in the best way possible. My first birth could have been very traumatic but I felt empowered, safe and calm due to all of the skills I had learnt, and my second birth story is the envy of a lot of my friends which I absolutely credit to this course. There are few things in my whole life which I recommend as highly as I recommend the PBC hypnobirthing course, I sing its praises to anyone who will listen! You absolutely will not regret doing their course if you are pregnant, worth every penny and more.

PBC changed my whole mindset on birth. It was the most empowering experience of my life and I couldn’t have done it without Hypnobirthing!

When I first found out I was pregnant, I was petrified of giving birth. My friend suggested the Positive Birth Company book and digital course. It sounds so cheesy BUT this was an absolute life changer! I went from petrified to calm, confident and knowledgeable. What could have been a nightmare birth experience became a very positive induction birth experience and I owe it all to PBC. Not only has it changed my relationship with childbirth, it’s changed my outlook on life and my future career. An absolute must-read for EVERYONE whether they’re pregnant or not.

I highly recommend the PBC’s Hypnobirthing Course. I would love to give it the full 5 stars, but their approach to induction is very negative. If the material could be updated to be more factual orientated and less opinion orientated in respect of induction, this course would be a gem. Everything else is really helpful and informative, but just keep in mind that there are also pros to induction if needed. I really do hope that the PBC chooses to update their material in this regard.
