I was so excited to order a couple products due to falling in love with dean street, however it’s been well over a week and USPS is still waiting for the product to get to them. I have texted, called left a weird recording they request, I even emailed. Not one response, I actually want to cancel my order and never order from them again this is ridiculous. I’m so disappointed.

I really do not understand the bad reviews.... I love their fine hair mask - makes my hair soft and bouncy. Their detox shampoo is brilliant - I live in London, therefore, hard water was horribly damaging my hair and leaving so much build up. After using it, my scalp feels squeeky clean without drying it out. The 300ml bottle lasted me 5 months! I have fine but mid-back length hair. It is highly concentrated and thick, it latters extremely well with a bit of water. An important note - do not over clarify your scalp by using it as your every day shampoo. It is meant to be using every two or one week (at most!). I recently started using Ouai Hair oil and absolutely libing it. It leaves my hair silky and shiney. I've just ordered their scalp serum and can't wait to get it.
All products will not work for everyone, but Ouai is one of my favourite hair brand and I'm shocked by these bad reviews on Trustpilot. If you go on any other reseller, you will see more accurate reviews. I live in London and never had any problems with their deliveries either.

The products are amazing, so I’m torn. My hair is silky soft—even in a city with very hard water—but the scent reminds me of the nit shampoo from my childhood. So now I have beautifully soft hair… and a powerful urge to run away from it at the same time.

Fine hair shampoo, made my extremely dry hair EXTREMELY OILY. I’d wash my hair twice a week and now I have to wash it every day since it made my scalp flakey and oily. I’ve NEVER seen flakes/ dandruff in my scalp and this shampoo and conditioner made a first. My hair weighed down even more, Im so dissatisfied and disappointed…

I’ve been a loyal Ouai customer for years and loved their products, especially the styling ones like the Fixing Spray, Texturizing Hair Spray, Volume Spray, Matte Pomade etc.

What frustrates me is not just that these products are disappearing one by one, but the complete silence from the brand itself. Customers like me are left to discover discontinuations through “out of stock” labels or Reddit threads. The Fixing Spray in particular was unique, had strong hold without crunch and a divine scent. Nothing on the market compares. Then the rest followed into the void. Seeing them all vanish without explanation feels so dismissive.

In 2025, customers expect transparency. We’ve already seen with the SPF scandal how brands that took accountability, explained the issue and offered compensation or reformulated earned more trust, not less. Ouai’s approach of quietly pulling products brakes any customer loyalty left and makes it hard to stay committed when building a routine feels like playing the roulette.

Ouai makes great products, but until they communicate clearly about discontinuations or reformulations, it’s difficult to recommend them. Staying loyal is tough when they act as if communication with their customers doesn't matter.

I placed and order. I got a 'confirmation order' but no receipt. The website is awful. You can't contact a person to find out where or when your order is coming or if they even are processing it. Only email which doesn't go through. It's not in my 'account' either. Calling my credit card company to stop processing the charge.

Love the smell, but I had to wash my hair twice just to get it to lather. Way too expensive!! Will not be buying again.

Poor delivery and communication. Still waiting for product ordered over 10 days ago

Good stuff!

Initially I only bought the shampoo for dogs. Honestly, it's not only the best smelling (dog)shampoo I've ever used, but it also leaves my dachshunds coat very soft, glowly and smooth. The smell is amazing too. Everyone keeps mentioning it.

Now I also bought the Detox & fine hair shampoo and both are great too. Will buy again for sure :)

UPDATE: since writing the below review they have been in contact and are going to replace my order

I wasn’t in for my delivery, didn’t get advised until the day i was getting a delivery and was too late to be in. DPD left it outside in the street, the box was wet through and the bottle inside was damp - fed this back to OUAI and up to now no response. I never give permission for parcels to be left outside, but looks like this is now deemed acceptable from delivery companies. This was meant to be a gift and don’t feel I can gift it now in the shoddy state it was in, i cannot be sure the product didn’t get rain water in it. The leave in conditioner smells nice, but spraying straight onto hair isnt good because it sprays out too thick

I have used the shampoo and conditioner for about a year now. As I was trying to place an order on their website, they kept canceling it. When I contacted customer service about, they responped this:

Hello ,
We apologize, but we must let you know that your recent order has been automatically canceled based on a suggestion from our security system designed to protect the integrity of all customer transactions and uphold the quality of our platform. We are unable to override this recommendation and will not be able to assist with placing any additional orders.

Nothing more, nothing less. This is crazy. I am actually glad they "blocked" me from purchasing their product since I realized they made my hair extra extra oily. I could not explain why they were so oily until I stopped using OUAI.

Trash OUAI products!

I really would like to return them and get my money back .what do they do? NOTHING! I get better results from coconut butter.worst hair products ever.stay away from them

I have seen many good things about this Company on the Internet but I am disappointed with the leave-in conditioner for fine hair. It is described as a 'mist' but it comes in a stream which leaves all the product in one place so you need several sprays in different areas. This is not what I expected or wanted. The fragrance is lovely.

Ordered a hair oil as a present for a friend - the package to be shipped to Boston. As the weeks passed I could see that the delivery was delayed and I wrote to customer service that I was concerned if the package would arrive in time. Immediately they responded, re-sending a new package and threw in some additional items. The package was delivered in time - what an amazing customer service - Thanks!

Bought some after I received a sample with another order, loved the fragrance, so ordered the shampoo & conditioner. However, their customer service stinks - they don't respond to emails & if you want to track delivery, you have to sign up for Shopify, which demands access to your phone data, and you cant delete it!

Also comes packaged in a recyclable cardboard box that is stuffed with loads of non biodegradable polystyrene tubes. As someone who values sustainability, this a no-no for me. So as it's just am okay hair care product, I won't buy again.

Overrated for the price - I bought the extra large detox shampoo and fine hair conditioner. They smell lovely and there isn't anything wrong with them. However, I wouldn't recommend the extra large bottle because it is soo hard to squeeze, and I haven't noticed much difference to my hair. It still gets greasy in the same amount of time as it would otherwise. Although, I have noticed less of my hair falls out when i'm washing compared to when I used a cheaper brand. For the price though, I wouldn't repurchase, I prefer Olaplex.

Has anyone else seen major fallout while using these products? My hair is falling out worse than I have ever seen!!!!

I am not lieing,it is very good conditioner but the fragrance exacerbates my asthma quite badly,so I have had to throw it away! I think it is the muskiness.

Have had nothing but success with all of their products. I love that they make a shampoo for medium hair. Might seem silly but shampoo for either fine or thick hair either done clean well enough or weigh my hair down. This makes my super long hair feel sooo good! Their leave-in conditioner is the best one I’ve found.
