I understand that some customers are satisfied with the result of their lawn installation, and may have worked well for them, but can I suggest you read as many reviews as possible and consider carefully before investing in turf from this company.

The lawn was laid by the turf company in September 2020 and although appeared to be of good quality, we were concerned that manner in which it was laid was not conducive for it to flourish.

The Ground workers arrived and immediately started to wheel barrow compost and lay it on top of the old turf. I questioned the process, and was told that this was the correct method. I said I wanted the old grass removed and the ground rotavated in preparation for the new turf.

I was told that they never remove old turf and rotavated it into the ground. They continued to rotavated about half of the old turf we were having re-laid. On the remainder they just spread the topsoil compost and laid the new turf on top.

I later contacted the company and explained what had happened and how dissatisfied I was with the process. They emailed a reply saying ‘it is normal practice and that the lawn would be fine’. I sent photographs to them of the remaining grass under the new turf and highlighted the fact that only part of the ground had been rotavated.

Their reply was, ‘we have noted your concern, but the lawn will be fine’. Since that time the area has deteriorated further and where the ground was not correctly prepared, the turf has died off completely.

Emailing them and sending the photos of the degrading turf, they replied that my lack of grass maintenance must be to blame. Apart from watering the new grass in and a few light cuts in Autumn, there has been no footfall on the grass throughout the Winter.

A frustrating and disappointing experience all round with a company who will not accept any responsibility.

I asked for an estimate through the website and after sending pictures and information as requested, I was provided with a competitive price that was maintained to the end.
Being a small garden, 65 sqm, the job was done by a single person. Chris arrived on time, was very informative and provided me with advice on maintenance and asked for information before doing the job in order to preserve existing bushes, plants and how i wanted the general look to be.
The work was done quickly and the end result looks very nice at the moment, even better than I thought: grass looks very good quality and plush after a week, no patches, mud or anything, the ground has been leveled perfectly despite being very uneven to start and the working area was cleaned after the job removing extra cuttings and dirt, as expected.
Answers via email both during the booking process and after have always been quick and satisfactory, all the information requested has been provided promptly.
I will update the review after the rooting period, but so far I would strongly recommend.

When my lawn was laid, there were a number of muddy patches (see pictures). I asked the 2 lads who laid the grass with regards to this and they told me that over the next 3 weeks the grass would grow back. However, after 6 weeks, it was exactly the same. I contacted "the lawn turf laying company" quite a number of times where I asked if this was normal to have muddy patches and if the lads reported my concerns; however, they always dodged these questions. I was also asked why I did not email with my concern and share pictures but I responded to the effect of "why would I as I spoke to the lads who laid the grass and they told me it would be ok". In addition, it was assumed that I had not looked after the grass properly which is not the case as I have new grass in the rear garden and it is totally fine. The final response from "the lawn turf laying company" was for me to put down grass seed in March and that they had nothing more to say to me. So - I am in the process of contacting Citizens Advice, Trading Standards and I will also look into the Small Claims Court. This may sound overkill, but I expect the grass to be of good quality and if there is an issue, not for "the lawn turf laying company" to assume that I am lying, them dodging questions and not engaging even discussing a solution bar myself sorting it out. I don't usually do reviews, but given our experience with TLTLC, I felt the need to at least warn others. I have included a couple of pictures on google reviews and reviews.io which should make you think twice about using them. One is the day their work was completed, the other is how the lawn looked 3 months later (the pics are from opposite ends)

For the avoidance of doubt, we followed all maintenance advice and aside from mowing and leaf blowing the garden has not been used by anyone since the work was done in early September 2020.

Sub standard turf - even though we were up-sold turf for shaded areas. Poor Advice from the company on when to lay the turf - based on the locality and surrounding area and last but not least a lack of rotavation (which we paid for) on clay soil untouched for 30 years are all issues highlighted by a trusted gardener as contributing to our now threadbare garden.

We have given TLTLC numerous opportunities to make good their work, Instead they choose to continually blame us for the state of the lawn as it slowly deteriorated. "Improper maintenance" being one of the phrases continually levelled at us.

They recently relented slightly, when we made them aware the pictures would be used for a not to complimentary online review. Their offer to correct the affected areas was a further cost to us of £815. The original work cost us in excess of £4000. I will leave you to make up your mind if you think the additional cost is acceptable or if the original money was well spent.

We have decided not to throw good money after bad and needless to say we wont be using them again (or recommending them to anyone). I would also strongly advise people to think twice about using them.

Were given this company’s details by friends very happy with the service, and we have received the same. I used their website which after measuring the area made it a breeze to get our quote on the same day, then booked in a date for the works. The guys on the team arrive on time and couldn’t have been better, hard-working, polite, informative and friendly. After completing all the preparatory work, they brought in and used the most beautiful grass I’ve ever seen which looks so good our neighbours thought it was astro-turf! The price stayed the same as when quoted. So we really couldn’t be more happy, and have already recommended to our family members wanting the same.

After getting some silly estimates I contacted this company, gave them the measurements and a couple of photos and soon had an estimate back that matched what I thought the job was worth. They asked if they could do the job at an earlier date so it was done within a week of the estimate. The men were helpful and friendly and laid the turf as I wanted following a rolling contour rather than bowling green flat. They were efficient and removed all waste. Three days later, apart from a hole dug by a fox the grass is looking green and growing. They supplied instructions for looking after the new lawn which I am following. I am very happy and satisfied and would use them again.

They did a decent job on the turf. We didn’t get any other estimates because he seemed nice and they started the job within a week of the consultation.
There were delays with following up but Christian made the effort to follow through after all. I believe it was due to their busy schedule but all is good because he did finally respond and wanted to make it right. I wish them well in their business endeavors.

I had 120 metres laid last month, two men were here for a day, started early and worked hard. Turf was good quality and dark green, looks good after the first mow this weekend and I would be happy to recommend their services.

We are delighted with our new turf and the service provided. Good value for money, the 2 guys that laid the turf were friendly quick and efficient - my neighbours are having theirs done now too.

Everything fab up until payment was asked for . 2 mins after payment was given (whilst the guys were clearing up) they had all jumped in the van and gone. My wife was on her own in the house . The total mess of piles of dirt and left over grass was left uncleared . About an inch thick on my patio. The big heavy items we keep down the side of the house were pulled onto the drive - and left there. Tiny wife had to drag them all back to the side. Oh and the side gate was left wide open. Rang them to ask them to come back and clear up. one of the workers then rang to say "broom had broken .- sorry !". Checked my CCTV, broom was being used 2 seconds before being out on van when they left and I had 2 brooms of my own on the patio. Dishonest and disrespectful. Rang to complain but their views was it was a Friday and nothing could be done until Monday . I had no option but to spen 4 hours jet washing the entire thing myself the following morning so the dog could use the garden . Would never use this company again- appalling lack of honesty and disrespect for people's property!

There is an old saying, buy cheap buy twice, never so true with this company. Paid to get the garden turfed, and sent an estimated measurement, and photo as requested. They turned up and said they don't have enough turf, I had under estimated the size of the garden. despite me confirming that if it was under or over the bill would be amended and the job would still be ok. So we need to re book to do the remainder, 2 weeks later after a no show with no courtesy call to say sorry but, we had to call them, they finally show to finish the job.
In addition, we requested shingle be removed and disposed of, and paid for this service. All they did was rotavate the shingle in with the top soil. it is so densely packed with shingle it is like walking on a beach when you walk on the grass.
The area they turfed 2 weeks previous they walked all over and used to bring their equipment in, despite there being 2 entrances to the garden.So we now have dead patches. The garden was left with off cuts thrown in plant pots and up the alleyway. Not professional at all. The turf
I have complained via Email twice, recorded delivery letter, and called to ask them to revisit or refund. No response at all not even an offer to come and take a look. They are not registered with the ombudsman and as they request cash on completion you are stuffed if anything goes wrong, and they clearly don't care once they have the money.
Do not use these, it will cost you to rectify their mess.
