⭐ Review – The Homeboat Company Sant’Elmo Cagliari

A minha estadia na The Homeboat Company Sant’Elmo Cagliari foi simplesmente excelente. O espaço é super acolhedor, limpo e com aquele ambiente tranquilo que faz toda a diferença quando queremos desligar e aproveitar a zona de Cagliari. A localização é prática, o barco é confortável e tudo estava impecável desde o primeiro minuto.

Mas o verdadeiro destaque vai para o Gabriel, que foi absolutamente top. Sempre disponível, super simpático e com uma atenção ao detalhe que raramente se encontra. Explicou tudo com calma, ajudou em tudo o que foi preciso e garantiu que a experiência fosse mesmo 5 estrelas. É daqueles anfitriões que elevam a estadia e fazem-nos sentir em casa.

Recomendo totalmente — tanto pela qualidade do alojamento como pelo profissionalismo e boa vibe do Gabriel.

Tive uma experiência fantástica na The Homeboat Company! Desde o momento do check-in até ao check-out, tudo foi impecável. A equipa foi extremamente simpática, profissional e sempre disponível para ajudar, fazendo-nos sentir verdaderamente bem-vindos.

scammers! take photos of all the equipment upon check-in, we were billed about 400 euros for a new sofa and accused of breaking it. we spent a day of our vacation to go back and see what happened to the sofa. as it turned out the sofa was broken, but there were life jackets lying on the bottom and we didn't notice it when we checked in. Although we explained that we didn't take out the life jackets and didn't break the bed, they refused to return our deposit of 250 euros and are still demanding part of it through booking.

We booked a three-night stay at The Homeboat Company in Albufeira, PT. Based on the photos from their website and on Bookingcom, we anticipated a unique new experience.
Unfortunately, upon arrival at the boat, we encountered completely different accommodations from what we were sold. Primarily, the bed was a tiny IKEA single bed with 2 feet of separation from the bathroom. The windows were dirty, and the small sofa was filled with stains. There was a foul smell of sewage and being a retired sailor, I was surprised to note some serious safety concerns.
Based on the above, we decided that we couldn't stay there and asked to speak to the manager to discuss our concerns. The manager was very unprofessional and basically had a "take it or leave it" attitude. He refused to refund our payment for the stay and then, in bad faith, reported to Bookingcom that we hadn't shown up at the property and for that reason refused a refund.
I tried several times to reason with them, but under no circumstances would they refund my payment. even after re-booking the room.
Steer clear of this place, it is a classic Bait and Switch scheme. Judge for yourself based on my photos.

Having spent our first day of holiday after being promised several times throughout that day the boat would be ready for us in - 40 minutes / 30 minutes . We spent all day chasing our check in after the communication from the office was appalling . After then being promised it would be no later than 3pm we are still sat here at 315 no contact and not answering the phone to us as we are trying to call the office. Happy 1st wedding anniversary/ honeymoon to us!! Stressed and disheartened doesn’t cover it . Well hopefully we will be in the boat soon … fingers crossed!!!

Upon arrival in Cagliari, the boat smelled strongly of urine. I opened the windows to air it out.

I left and returned, and the smell was better, as it had been left open for hours.

When I went to get ready for bed, I found clean sheets but only an old, stained duvet without a cover.

After closing the windows, the boat began to smell strongly of urine again.

It was an extremely windy night. Whilst I enjoy the waves and the rocking, the swing banged and smashed against the boat like someone was trying to get in.

By 12:45 am I couldn’t sleep due to the smell and the noise.

I couldn’t cope and left at 2 am to check into a hotel.

They are ignoring all my whatsapps and emails and are not giving me a refund.

Agree with previous reviewer - my experience was so ridiculously bad and the Ponta Delgada listing is SO misleading, I doubt the reviews are real.
I’m an avid traveler from NYC and wanted to love this experience. I couldn’t regret it more.
Like several Google reviewers, we were forced to leave early because they couldn’t fix a heavily leaking air conditioner, there was no ventilation without the doors open, the bathroom door didn’t close, and the smell was unbearable because the waste was full. They offered us a different boat 24 hours later when it was obvious they couldn’t book it.
We were also offered 15% off our intended 4 night stay…and then they stopped responding to messages and never initiated a discount. They didn’t even respond to contact attempts from the booking site.
By no means were we expecting a 5 star hotel, but we did expect to be treated with respect. It’s clear that after they have your money, you don’t matter.

In my 27 years travelling around the world both in business and holiday and staying in so many different countries and places, this was absolutely my worst experience ever!
Search for the bad comments about The homeboat company in google rewiews because those are the reals ones, the positives are probably fake.
The boats have many issues that are not taken care off and when you check-in and politely tell them what's not working properly then they start to try to fool you saying that it will be fixed. This circus will go on for hours and your stay will be ruined.
We paid 340 euros for 1 night in Albufeira Marina but it was not worth 1 euro for how shaddy and rude this company is! The only thing this company wants is to charge you as much as possible and give you as little as possible (including a poor and cheap breakfast) and not taking any responsability for any problems the homeboats may have. They are well aware of the problems but they keep renting out the homeboats as if it was gold and playing with customers holidays. NEVER AGAIN! FIRST AND LAST TIME!
