Avoid, Avoid, Avoid - Worst Garage Experience
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid
IMPORTANT - I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but this is seriously warranted.
Customer Reviews - read their Google business reviews. It's almost all 1 star shocking reviews with real context, or 5 star generic reviews. To remove bias and add credibility - below is Google AI answer to that trend. You decide.
'A Google Business Profile dominated almost entirely by 1-star and 5-star reviews—with very few in between—is a major red flag that often indicates fake reviews or review manipulation. This pattern, known as polarized reviews, suggests a lack of authentic, average customer experiences. In reality, most businesses have a mix of 3 and 4-star experiences.'
My -5 Star Experience:
I purchased a Merc E Class Convertible that looked great and the short test drive was fine. But....and that's a big BUT...
The issues started after a few days and got worse over a few weeks/months. I complained like others but emails got ignored completely and calls were just fobbed off. It was clear they didn't care and had a playbook for complaints.
The engine light come on within days. The third-party cover wasn't worth having - just gives 'the guys' a tool to deflect blame.
Electrical issues - the car would just cut out completely whilst driving. Roof issues - clear long-term damp/mould under the boot floor that any credible garage would have known about.
Body Work Bodge - Paint scratches, chips started to show after heavy rain/cleaning. Clearly bodged over.
Flaking Paint / Bodged Black Grill/Rims - within weeks the black paint on the front grill/merc symbol and alloys started flaking off, exposing the original chrome. Professional advice from authorised garages said it was recently added as it would never last long. Others have experienced the same on here and car dealers know this stuff. So DON'T be fooled by their wide selection of Black Trim vehicles.
Car Photo / Spec - the car pics and spec on their website were actually a different almost identical car (again, freshly painted black trim etc.). But this car had the Merc Airscarf seats (air vents in the seats). The car I purchased didn't have that. I guess they missed that.
Merc Recall - within weeks I got a Merc recall letter that was issued previously, but not dealt with. This was a Merc fault and Merc covered the cost. These things do happen. But...everyone else in the trade knew about this - just not these 'guys'.
MOT/Mileage Concerns - after getting more advice (from 2 different garages and a trusted friend who's an experienced senior car tech for a major brand) they all suspected the car mileage was clocked. You cant be 100% if/when/who done this to be clear, but collectively it doesn't look good along with everything else. On reviewing the printed MOT certs they supplied the mileage was clearly changed by someone. It's hard to believe a Garage wouldn't have picked up on this if they purchased the car like this. So at worst case they should have mentioned it. But again, 'the guys' didn't.
I could go on, but I would strongly not recommend this garage. Silly me for not doing my homework - hindsight's a wonderful thing.
